The Flavor Factory eLiquid Is Spectacular Vape Juice for 2014

The Flavour Factory – Reviewing eLiquids from the UK is relatively new for the Spinfuel eLiquid Review Team. But it is something we want to do more of simply because the number of readers from the UK (and France) are growing larger and larger. In addition, requests from UK eLiquid brands are becoming more frequent. Today, one such brand to reach out is The Flavour Factory.

For the most part, the flavor palettes of vapers in the US and the UK are the same, but there are some differences, as you will see in the review. Flavor combinations like Rhubarb and Custard for instance, may well be familiar to UK readers but on this side of the pond…not so much.

The Website is a very attractive, easy to use and easy to navigate. Flavors are grouped into familiar sections like Fruits, Sweets, Drinks, Tobacco, etc. and there are many to choose from in each. Prices are listed in ‘pounds’ (we think) and not euros. Shipping is worldwide and payment is accepted through PayPal, something we can’t seem to arrange in the US.

The Flavour Factory offers both 10ML and 30ML sizes, a 10ML bottle will run you 3.99 pounds sterling ($6.69 USD), and 30ML bottles are 9.99 pounds-sterling ($16.74 USD). Nicotine strengths are 6mg, 12mg, 18mg and of course, zero-nicotine.

The overall flavor profiles of the eLiquids we received, which are by no means close to the entire lineup, are strong, full flavored, and mostly authentic. Vapor production varied, as did throat hits. We liked most of what we received, and a couple might have earned a Spinfuel Choice Award had we the complete team onboard.

Bottles and Labels of the Flavour Factory

There must have been a communication error between Dave, our managing editor and the one who sets up our reviews, and the Flavour Factory because we received 1x 10ML bottle of each flavor (18mg nicotine), not nearly enough to allow 4 team members to spend 72 hours vaping their eLiquids exclusively.

Therefore, this review is limited to Julia (me) and Tom McBride. Our likes and dislikes are disparate enough to offer a view of two different types of vapers. Dealing with just 5ML each for this review, we spent a total of 24 hours with them.

Flavors in this Review

  • Mango
  • Cider
  • Pear Drop
  • Tropical Crush
  • Violet
  • Pineapple
  • Peppermint
  • Blueberry
  • Rhubarb & Custard
  • Dandelion and Burdock

Hardware

I used my red brass ZMAX and a Spinner II along with an Aerotank Mini and a few X.Jet Spiders. Tom used his iTaste 134 Mini, a SMOK DCTank, and a couple of Kanger Aerotanks.

Scoring The Flavors

As usual, the 1-5 Star scoring method was used. Since it was just the two of us we could not offer any flavor a Spinfuel Choice Award. Perhaps at a later date, in a sequel review.

Flavour Factory – And So It Begins…

Note* There are no official flavor descriptions under any of the flavors offered in this review. Some were certainly obvious; others were completely unknown to either of us. For instance, Violet and Rhubarb/Custard are flavors we’ve never tasted before.

Flavour Factory Mango:

  • Super strong flavour
  • 60PG/40VG
  • Made by hand in the UK
  • Nature Identical Flavours

JULIA: This is a solid mango flavored juice, probably the most ‘mango’ flavor I’ve had in a while. There are no other supplemental flavors interfering with the mango so all you get is a nice, sweet mango flavor. Vapor is good, not great, and the throat hit is powerful. A solid Flavour Factory 4 stars

TOM: I agree Julia; the mango is sweet and natural. It reminds me of buying a bright red mango at the grocery store, cutting up the slices and eating them one by one. I also agree about the vapor, it’s good, but not great. Wicked good throat hit because of the 60% PG and the 18mg nicotine. I enjoyed it. Flavour Factory 4 Stars.

The Flavour Factory eLiquid Review by Spinfuel eMagazineCider:

  • Super strong flavour
  • 40PG/60VG
  • Made by hand in the UK
  • Nature Identical Flavours

JULIA: This one was tart and tangy, very unusual for me. Apple cider? Maybe, but done up in a way that is very different from a US red delicious apple flavor. Cider is too tart for an all day vape but sweet enough for an occasional vape. Vapor was very good, flavor profile is strong, throat hit was harder than I expected. This is one of the UK flavor profiles that I imagined would be here. Flavour Factory 3.75 Stars

TOM: I enjoyed this one much more than you did Julia. A strong, tart cider flavor, good throat hit and ample vapor. Not sure about this being an all-day vape, but I vaped every drop and looked for more. Flavour Factory 4.5 Stars

Flavour Factory Pear Drop:

  • Super strong flavour
  • 50PG/50VG
  • Made by hand in the UK

JULIA: A delicious pear flavor permeates this deep, sweet natural pear vape. There is no mistaking the pear flavor, and like the mango, it’s a flavor unfettered by other components. Lots of vapor in this one, and a decent throat hit. Very good! Flavour Factory 4.75 Stars

TOM: I also like this one, maybe even more than the mango. It’s very sweet for a pear vape, but with a natural flavor profile. Good vapor, a nice medium throat hit, and another juice I vaped till it was gone. Flavour Factory 4.5 Stars

Flavour Factory Tropical Crush:

  • Super strong flavour
  • 50PG/50VG
  • Made by hand in the UK
  • Nature Identical Flavours

JULIA: I think the Kiwi in this concoction ruined this flavor for me. Although it had very good vapor production, and a medium throat hit, not to mention the kiwi component (and I swear a touch of floral as well), I found this disagreeable. Flavour Factory 3 Stars

TOM: Yes, you’re right, the flavor of Kiwi is something neither of us is used to. When I think tropical crush I think coconut and pineapple, and here there was no coconut in the mix, not that I could tell. I also detected something floral in the mix. I hate to think we agree all the way down the list, but I too found this one to be the least liked tropical vape I’ve had in a long time. Flavour Factory 3 Stars

Flavour Factory Violet:

  • Super strong flavour
  • 50PG/50VG
  • Made by hand in the UK
  • Nature Identical Flavours

JULIA: I really disliked Violet. This is a strong floral and soapy flavor. I couldn’t vape it for more than a couple of minutes at a time. While I had qualms about the vapor production, the flavor was just, in a word, awful. Never again. Flavour Factory 2 Stars

TOM: Very floral flavored juice, something a floral fan would truly enjoy. Good vapor, a medium throat hit, but not for me. Flavour Factory 3 Stars

Flavour Factory Pineapple:

  • Super strong flavour
  • 40PG/60VG
  • Made by hand in the UK
  • Nature Identical Flavours

JULIA: This is a really good pineapple vape. Sweet, natural and authentically flavored pineapple. A singular flavor, with excellent vapor production and a medium throat hit. I would add this one to my rotation. Flavour Factory 4.5 Stars

TOM: This Pineapple is a vape that comes across as very sweet, and not at all tart or tangy. I wouldn’t say this was a natural pineapple, more of a pineapple candy, but I liked it as well. Not an all day vape, but with the vapor output and the sweet pineapple profile I could see this as a nice fruity dessert vape. Flavour Factory 4.25 Stars

Flavour Factory Peppermint:

  • Super strong flavour
  • 30PG/70VG
  • Made by hand in the UK
  • Nature Identical Flavours

JULIA: I’m still not sure of this peppermint flavor, but then I only had 5ML to play with. The only way I can describe it is being sweet, with okay peppermint notes, but dull. It was as though there was a wall of flavorless vapor over the light peppermint flavor. A perfect Flavour Factory 3 stars.

TOM: I’ve had many peppermint eLiquids before, some better, some worse. This peppermint is softly flavored with an equal amount of sweetener and peppermint flavoring. It was okay, but just okay. Good vapor clouds, a light to medium throat hit, but not nearly as pepperminty as I would want it to be. Flavour Factory 3.25 Stars

Flavour Factory Blueberry:

  • Super strong flavour
  • 50PG/50VG
  • Made by hand in the UK
  • Nature Identical Flavours

JULIA: Blueberry by The Flavour Factory has to be a UK blueberry, and one that is almost completely different than a blueberry flavor in the US. In fact, I can barely detect a single blueberry note. Instead, this flavor was like vaping the flowers on a blueberry bush. I couldn’t understand the flavor profile at all. When I vape blueberry I don’t expect a floral flavor. Flavour Factory 2.75 Stars

TOM: You are so right about the flavor Julia. I could hardly taste any blueberry in this. What I did taste was something floral, again. But you know, as a floral vape I think this would be a major hit in the US for vapers that like floral vapes. The flavor is clean, the vapor is really good, and the throat hit is sizable. If you like florals, you’ll love this one. Flavour Factory 4 Stars

Flavour Factory Rhubarb & Custard:

  • Super strong flavour
  • 50PG/50VG
  • Made by hand in the UK
  • Nature Identical Flavours

JULIA: A very un-US flavor profile again, but delicious. This custard vape is creamy, authentic, and a great vapor producer. I never thought I would enjoy something called Rhubarb, but I did. Sweet and custard-ly, I recommend it highly. Flavour Factory 4.75 Stars

TOM: Well, for me it was a matter of tasting the creamy custard, which I liked a lot, but there is a strange flavor that I can only attribute to the Rhubarb. I vaped all 5ML, but it’s not something I would add to my own rotation. If Julia liked it, then other people will too. I’m not a rhubarb kind of guy I guess. Flavour Factory 3.5 Stars

Flavour Factory Dandelion and Burdock:

  • Super strong flavour
  • 50PG/50VG
  • Made by hand in the UK
  • Nature Identical Flavours

JULIA: From the name alone you would expect this to be the most floral vape of the lineup, yet I couldn’t taste any floral characteristics at all. Instead, what I tasted was a light licorice flavor. Two unknown flavors, one good combination. I liked this one. Plenty of vapor, a medium throat hit. Flavour Factory 4.5 Stars

TOM: I too expected this to be a floral vape and when I saw that it wasn’t it kind of threw me. What did I taste? What is Burdock? Where is the dandelion? Isn’t that a weed? As it turned out I too tasted a licorice flavor. Not something I would normally vape, but something I enjoyed nonetheless. Flavour Factory 4 Stars.

CONCLUSION

Clearly there are differences in what we like and what is liked elsewhere. While some of the flavors were familiar, many were not. The sweet vapes, Pear, Pineapple, and even Mango, would be excellent eLiquids anywhere, and I recommend them. The florals were good florals, but not something either of us could get behind personally.

A 10ML bottle is priced at 3.99 pounds-sterling, which is $6.69 USD. That’s on the high end of the scale for the US, about average for the UK. At 30ML, the 9.99 pounds-sterling equals $16.74 USD, which is about average here and in the UK.

Granted, we barely scratched the surface of the number of flavors offered by The Flavour Factory. Perhaps this review would have went better than it did had we chosen the flavors instead of having them choose them. We know what we like, and at the same time we’re unfamiliar with the flavor profiles of the UK. If there is a sequel to come we’ll choose the next batch of flavors so that we can compare eLiquids we enjoy here to their equivalents in the UK.

BUYING ADVICE

Sadly, there is nothing here that we would tell our US readers to spend the time and money buying from this UK eLiquid brand. However, UK readers looking for a moderately priced eLiquid of high quality and strong flavors, The Flavor Factory could be the place for you.

We would like to thank The Flavour Factory for sending over a sample of their flavors for us to try. We look forward to working with them again.

Lastly, we would really enjoy hearing from our UK readers that have experience with both UK and US eLiquids and can provide some insight to the major differences in their taste preferences to our own. Please leave your comments below; it would be an education for all of us. Of course, we welcome all readers to leave comments as well.
