Vaporesso Revenger Mini Starter Kit Preview

I don’t think anyone is surprised that Vaporesso took the logical step with their most popular box mod, the Revenger, and created a “mini” version. However, with the introduction of the Revenger X, (preview here) I admit I was surprised to see that the Vaporesso Revenger Mini does not feature the same “haptics” to navigate the menu system, and instead uses the original Revenger mod ‘adjustment bar’ of three-buttons.

With the Revenger X, one of my favorite new mods this past quarter, Vaporesso removed of the three-button controls, and replaced them with a tap-tic, force-feedback touch system, underneath the OLED display. Unless the Revenger Mini was in development before the Revenger X, one would assume that the Revenger Mini would use the same feedback system. Oh well, there are plenty of cool tweaks to the Mini to make most people dismiss the absence of the tap-tics.

The Vaporesso Revenger Mini Starter Kit is an 85W TC mod with the NRG SE Sub-Ohm Tank. A compact version of the Revenger series, that integrates a 2500mAh internal battery to power the latest OMNI Board 2.2 and its suite of advanced functions. The Vaporesso Revenger Mini 85W TC mod is constructed with an In-Mould Labeling (IML) injection on the aluminum alloy shell design that makes the Mini more portable, and very travel-friendly.

The Vaporesso OMNI Board 2.2, is more versatile, and accurate, with modes such as Customized Curve of Wattage (CCW) and Customized Curve of Temperature (CCT).

The Revenger Mini also features a Bypass Mode, the Smart Variable Wattage Mode, and TCR Adjustments for even more supplementary methods of power.

With the Starter Kit Edition, the Revenger Mini is paired with the new Vaporesso NRG SE Sub-Ohm Tank, possessing a healthy 3.5mL juice capacity, Slide-n-Fill top-fill design, dual bottom airflow control, and the ability to use the GT Cores for other NRG tanks. (review here)

The GT Cores (Replacements Coils) offer a range of coil options with traditional organic cotton as well as the cCell Ceramic in each structure. Included in the Kit is a 0.5ohm GT cCell Ceramic Core with a wattage range of 15 to 40W and a 0.15ohm GT 4 Core with a range of 30 to 60W.

While GT Cores output tremendous flavor and ample clouds, (based on prior experience with these coils) the lower wattage requirements here allow for longer battery life for the internal 2500mAh cell, and extended coil life. During our testing of the NRG SE and the Revenger Mini, we’ll focus our attention on flavor and cloud production, as well as how effective they are when it comes to extending the battery life.

The Revenger Mini Starter Kit is offered in Silver, Black, Red, Blue, Red/Green (a Christmas Edition). One of the coolest features is how the Revenger Mini Mod lights up the entire back cover with unique patterns.

My test unit is described as the “black” model, but the side panels are more of a dark gray, while the front and back panels are black. The lighting pattern on the back of this model can only be described as a sort of ‘flames’ pattern the lights up in various primary colors and then fades to black. Each time I press the fire button the back-pattern cycles through. It’s a nice touch, and almost makes the internal battery worth it.

The Revenger Mini is equipped with a 2.5A charging feature, which will allow users to fully recharge their mod in under an hour.

I’ll spend about a week using the Revenger Mini before publishing my review. I expect the fine performance I’m currently getting from the mod (I’ve been vaping with it for about 4 hours so far) and the tank to continue, but I’ll be looking for signs of coil life, running various e-juice blends through the tank, and testing wattage limits. If all goes as expected, the Vaporesso Revenger Mini will receive a big thumb’s up from this reviewer.
