Vaping into Summer
It’s the most wonderful time of the year: Summer! A time when people want to look and feel their best, so they get the most enjoyment out of the long and hot months. This can be quite a battle, though, if you’re a tobacco smoker. Vaping however, is quite different.
It’s not only about the health and financial costs of smoking, but now the social stigma, too. People just don’t want smokers around them, due to the smell of burning tobacco and the very real health risks. The World Health Organization says about 600,000 people around the world die every year because of exposure to secondhand smoke. Do you really want someone blowing smoke in your face at your backyard cookout this summer?
The good news for smokers is they don’t have to give it all up to enjoy their summer in the company of others. In fact, the only thing they have to give up are the hundreds of harmful chemicals found in cigarettes. Vaping offers the way forward, providing the (optional) nicotine that smokers crave and only giving off harmless vapor. No foul stench, no secondhand harm.
Summer Lovin’
Many smokers report feeling incredible when they finally manage to quit. Typically, they say they have lots more energy, a more positive outlook and a renewed vigor for life. It’s not surprising, as tobacco takes a heavy toll on the body and is, as everyone by now knows all too well, deadly. Research has shown that smoking is harmful to every single organ in the human body and increases the heart rate, as well as raising blood pressure and putting people at risk of strokes.
And the benefits of quitting tobacco are almost immediate. Just 20 minutes after a smoker’s last cigarette, their heart rate returns to a normal level and blood pressure evens out in two hours, meaning circulation improves and you can start to feel better. 12 hours after the last cigarette, carbon monoxide inhaled from burning tobacco starts to decrease in the body, and 48 hours on, the senses of taste and smell start to improve. That’s vital to enjoy all the sights, sounds and flavors of summer — and e-cigarettes come in a wide variety of e-juice aromas that will delight your taste buds.
Hitting the High Road With Vaping
For those who have finally kicked the habit and taken up vaping, or for those considering doing so, there are some things to consider if you’re planning on traveling this summer. If you’re flying to another part of the country or going abroad, you may be able to take your e-cigarettes with you, but not in your checked-in bags. That’s the rule from the TSA, though it may differ according to airline. Make sure you check in advance so your precious vaping device is not taken off you at the airport.
Plus, it’s worth packing some sort of protection for your e-cigarettes; a carry case or sealable plastic bag will do the trick, keeping water and condensation away when things hot up and you hit the beach or pool. As they are electronic devices, they also need to be kept at a regular temperature. Leaving it lying in the baking sun all day will not do it any favors at all, and neither will placing it in a cold place, such as a fridge. A little advance planning will ensure your vaping device works properly whenever you need it.
If all that fails and you find yourself off cigarettes and without an e-cigarette, there’s no need to panic. Just point your browser towards a top vape shop and you’ll have replacements in a flash.
Then, you’re all set to keep on enjoying a happy and much healthier, tobacco-free summer.
