Vaporesso Drizzle Fit 40W Starter Kit Review

The Vaporesso Drizzle Fit Starter Kit is a throwback (step-back?) that just doesn’t fit with today’s vape mod trends. It’s not a pod mod or AIO, nor is it a proper vape mod and tank. With distinct vaping devices for all preferences of vaping, this 40W MTL/DL kit just doesn’t belong in 2018.

The Drizzle Kit is a 40W pocket mod that is just 3.8” by 1.29” by 0.9” and equipped with a mere 1400mAh integrated battery with no display or adjustment buttons. It does have a battery life indicator “lights” and a side-panel fire button, but it certainly qualifies as Vaporesso’s biggest misstep of the year.

The 1.8mL Drizzle Sub-Ohm (?) tank uses Vaporesso’s EUC Coil Family, but its 1.3ohm EUC Mini CCELL (ceramic) Coil, and its 1.4ohm EUC Mini Traditional Coil that are included in the starter kit are both tasteless, ruining Vaporesso’s best year yet for its superior Sub-Ohm tank technology found in sub-ohms like the SKRR and Cascade. (reviewed here).

How can Vaporesso manufacture a brilliant sub-ohm like its SKRR Sub-Ohm Tank and follow it up immediately with this abysmal excuse for a vape tank is beyond me.

This small pocket mod and cheap tank is a step outside of time, something that could have been produced way back during the Eleaf PICO era, but even the PICO line had better flavor from their tanks than the Drizzle tank.

The funny thing is, despite the fact that the Drizzle has no place on vendor’s shelves or Vapers hands in 2018, inside the mod itself lies some fair Vaporesso technology.

Features like its intelligent vaping system, an OMNI Board Mini Chipset. The Vaporesso Drizzle’s intelligent OMNI Board Mini is capable of detecting the resistance of the installed coil in order to match the wattage for optimal vaping by detecting and recognizing the resistances for mouth-to-lung (MTL) or direct-to-lung vaping (DTL). That said, the coils themselves produce tasteless vapor, so I can’t really say if this ‘system’ actually works.

The included Drizzle Tank is supposed to have a top fill system that is accessed by unscrewing the threaded top fill cap. Doing so is supposed to reveal large fill ports. But no matter how hard I tried, the only think I was able to do is unscrew the entire top cap, reminiscent of tanks from 2011.

The adjustable airflow slots are located on the drip tip stem and can be set to close off for a tight MTL or open for a tight DL vaping.

The Vaporesso Mini EUC Replacement Coils are a new addition to Vaporesso.  Created for the Drizzle Kit and Drizzle Fit Kit and features a stainless-steel SS316 Clapton and a cCell Ceramic coil.

The Mini EUC is supposed to be inexpensive by reducing the waste from traditional coils by eliminating the coil exterior and simply changing the cotton and heating element. Each replacement coil pack includes 5 such coils.

The Drizzle Mod’s 1400mAh battery life is roughly 60-90 minutes with moderate vaping when the “airflow” is set to its widest opening. Because it is an integrated battery the user will need to recharge often, so it makes for a lousy primary vape kit.

Because of its petite size the Drizzle and Drizzle Tank can be carried in almost anything; from a pocket of a pair of jeans, to a coin purse. There isn’t much worry about leaking because of its drip tip stem airflow slots.

When set for an MTL vape the draw is as least 3 times tighter than an actual tobacco cigarette. When set to wide open, what Vaporesso calls a DL vape, it’s actually closer to a tight MTL draw, but it certainly isn’t a DL (direct lung) draw no matter which coil you use.

About Vaporesso Drizzle Flavor

I was truly shocked by the lack of flavor produced by either coil. Vaporesso knows how to build a good flavor coil, and the coils for the Drizzle tank are a terrible attempt.

When I vape a new tank or a new coil, I use my personal go-to eJuice, and because I know this eJuice and every nuance of flavor that can be found, when I tell you that the Drizzle coils produce ZERO ‘flavor’ I mean it.

I wouldn’t recommend the Drizzle tank to anyone for any reason.

The Drizzle Mod and other Tanks

The problem with using another sub-ohm tank, or even something like the Zenith MTL tank, the 0.9” (23.3mm) isn’t deep enough to use without a little to a lot of overhang. Even an MTL vaper that might choose the Zenith or some other MTL tank with decent flavor characteristics, these tanks are nearly as tall as the Drizzle Mod, and its 1400mAh battery would drain faster with any other tank. To me, it’s just not viable.

This is the first time in my many years of reviewing vape gear that I award a score of “F”. I base this score on a few unforgivable blunders;

1 – In 2018 it’s either a pod device, an AIO, or a decent mod and tank, not some PICO size 40W mod with no controls.

2 – The EUC Coil System is god-awful and tasteless

3 – It’s 1400mAh integrated battery isn’t enough, but it is least 350mAh more than the PICO baby, another abysmal vape kit. (we never bothered to review this one)

Based on what can be manufactured in 2018 and beyond, I cannot recommend the Vaporesso Drizzle Kit to any Vaper. Hopefully Vaporesso will let this one die on the vine and stick with what works, like its new LUXE Kit, the excellent Polar Kit, the delightful Armour Pro, or even its Cascade One and One Plus.
