Eleaf iStick Pico Dual Starter Kit
eLeaf iStick Pico Dual with Melo 3 Mini Starter Kit
As adorable as the original eLeaf Pico (75W) is, as you can see by my review here, I’m still a little undecided by this dual 18650 model. The addition of another battery in a device this small radically changes the body style of the traditional Pico, yet it’s difficult to complain about another 125W of power. Or is it? The eLeaf iStick Pico Dual (200W) is, in many ways, still a Pico, but with the addition of that extra battery the stealthy nature of the Pico is mostly lost. So, how does the addition of another 18650 battery change the dimensions of the eLeaf Pico? Let’s take a look…
The first eLeaf Pico measures 1.77 inches wide by .9 inches in depth by 2.77 inches tall. Tiny, very tiny. The eLeaf Pico Dual measures differently because the body is triangular, but at the widest point (the back) it’s 1.81 inches, by 1.73 inches by 2.95 inches.
The eLeaf iStick Pico Dual Starter Kit features the eLeaf iStick Pico Dual Mod and the exceptional Melo 3 Mini Sub-Ohm Tank in a powerful and affordable starter kit. The eLeaf iStick Pico Dual outputs a maximum of 200 watts, with a wattage range of 1W – 200W in 1-watt increments. The eLeaf iStick Pico Dual features a complete temperature control suite for Nickel, Titanium, and Stainless Steel 316 heating elements. Temperature Coefficient of Resistance, or TCR, mode and the now-ubiquitous preheat functionality and dual battery protection circuitry are also featured here.
The eLeaf iStick Pico Dual has four switchable display interfaces on its OLED display screen. The eLeaf iStick Pico Dual is upgradeable through firmware upgrades using the USB port, as well as battery charging with the included QC USB cable.
The eLeaf iStick Pico Dual utilizes (2) high amp (25A+) 18650 batteries (not included). The batteries are easily removed and replaced by way of the flip-open battery cover that’s located on the bottom of the unit. The eLeaf iStick Pico Dual can also become a power bank (like the WISMEC RX300) when utilizing the included RC adapter. The RC adapter works to convert the 510 connection into a USB output which the user can utilize to recharge any rechargeable USB device. If you own a USB to Apple Lightning cable you can use the Pico Dual for some quick rescue power to keep the devices up and running. It’s not as effective as the many portable battery packs sold today, but in a pinch, it can give the user extra time before a power shut down when proper recharging of these electronic devices isn’t possible.
The eLeaf Melo 3 Mini
The eLeaf Melo 3 Mini is a marvelous tank in many ways, and is the right size to complement the iStick Pico Dual. The Melo 3 Mini has an eliquid capacity of only 2.0mL. The eLeaf Melo 3 Mini is a top-fill tank. The eLeaf Melo 3 Mini features a hidden adjustable airflow control valve for easy adjustments for both Direct Lung and Mouth to Lung vaping. The Melo 3 Mini features is made with 304 Stainless Steel construction and glass tank. When used with the eLeaf EC Kanthal/TC-Nickel/EC TC-Titanium coil heads, the eLeaf Melo 3 Mini gives the user an outstanding vape experience, with or without the Pico Dual. Direct Lung vapers using HighVG eliquids will need to refill the 2mL tank often, but the flavor fidelity and vapor production, along with the small footprint of the Pico Dual and Melo 3 Mini, will appeal to many vapers looking for a big vape from a small device.
Battery Safety: The eLeaf iStick Pico Dual requires (2) High Amp 18650 Batteries. Please make sure to use the same brand and model (mAh rating). We strongly recommend an external charger, like a Nitecore D4, for safe, and fast, recharging.
The eLeaf Pico Dual is available in White (my color), Silver, Grey, Red, and Black, and Cyan.
Final Grade: B+
“The eLeaf Pico Dual would be graded an “A” by most reviewers based on performance and value. I’m giving it a slightly lower grade because although it will remind you of the original Pico, the new size to accommodate the additional battery takes away a little bit of charm that the Pico had. It’s an excellent mod and the Melo 3 Mini performs like a champ, but for some folks, it’s not the best choice out there.”
