The last time we reviewed Vaporetti was last November when we reviewed the Vaporetto eCig.

We wrote about the company’s mini-eCigarette called the Vaporetti-TRead that review here. We liked the product and we felt it was a fine eCigarette, especially for times when you are vaping in public. The battery is strong enough, and long-lasting enough, to provide a very good vape when you are out and about. In fact, some 3 months after the initial review period those original batteries are still in heavy rotation here at Spinfuel. We’ve long since swapped out the atomizer/cartridge set up for normal 510-threaded cartomizers, still, the product did not wind up on the “Island of Misfit eCigarettes” where so many other have.

A Review

Lead Writer: Julia Barnes, with Jason Little, Keira Hartley, Tom McBride and special guest Jacob (JC) Croft.

“The most important thing to remember about any review is that your first priority is to tell the truth, as you see it, for your readers, not the company you’re writing about. The minute you begin to wonder how the company’s owner, or the company’s PR rep, manager, or anyone else in the company is going to ‘take’ the review… you’ve lost. The objectivity you fought so long to achieve immediately evaporates into thin air. So, you put blinders on and you focus on the products and forget everything else.” – John Manzione – Spinfuel Review Guide 2012

Today’s review focuses on the Vaporetti eLiquids, and it covers nine (9) flavors from their V-Drops collection of twenty flavors. The nine flavors are:

Peach Bellini

RYQuattro

Vanilla Crème Cake

Strawberry Gelato

Bellagio Vanilla Bean

Crème Caramello

Hazelnut Cream

Tuscan Trifle

Caffe Dolci Cappuccino

All Flavors were mixed and bottled on November 6th, 2012 and consisted of 1.6% (16MG) nicotine.

Vaporetti tells Spinfuel that the Vaporetti V-Drops are 100% American Made eLiquid made by Vaporetti. They are not sourced-out eLiquids. They are, in fact, ‘made to order’ by the company one bottle at time.  Vaporetti uses all natural flavorings, pharmaceutical grade nicotine, 100% Kosher grade PG, and 100% Kosher grade VG. V-Drops are packaged in PET plastic containers, which are then shrink-wrapped with food-grade shrink-wrap plastic, then placed in boxes and sealed in plastic yet again.  (See our accompanying interview for more about the Vaporetti process.)

V-Drops Characteristics

Viscosity:  V-Drops has a mild thickness, neither too runny nor too thick to drip into a cartomizer. The aroma of each flavor was pleasant and sweet. We do not know the PG/VG ratio, but each flavor produced plenty of vapor but a non-existent to very mild throat hit at 1.6% nicotine.

Flavoring: The predominant flavor is vanilla. All the flavors, including the RYQuattro, were sweet, but not overly so. (though a few got close) In an attempt to sum up the percentage of flavoring in each of the eJuice flavors we agreed that when compared to other eLiquids we’ve used and/or reviewed, Vaporetti V-Drops contained, for lack of a better phrase, “An extra shot of flavoring” across the product line. In other words none of the flavors we vaped lacked flavor. Far from it.

Complexity/Nuance: I need to thread carefully here. While Vaporetti chooses to market its product line as luxury products, that doesn’t have to negate flavors that are not complex or layered with nuance. It is possible to create a luscious, deeply flavorful eLiquid with no more complexity than a few extra drops of flavoring.

Nicotine: V-Drops are available in 0, 6, 18, and 24MG. The nicotine is 99% pharmaceutical grade. Last November we were supplied with 16mg eLiquids, but that level doesn’t seem to be available today.
