Is there any doubt left that the most prolific vape mod and tank manufacturer in the vape industry is SMOKTech? Will SMOK ever slow down? Should they?

Today we’re going to look at some of the upcoming products that SMOK is already prepping for release. In fact, they are so close to release that our partner Element Vape already has “product pages” up and ready as soon as stock arrives.  Is SMOK’s fever-pitch release schedule  good for the vape community? Is it good for SMOK? Are Chinese companies really like ‘sharks’, in that they must keep swimming, or they’ll drown? Maybe, maybe not.

While some SMOK devices sit on vendor shelves forever, others are out-of-the-ballpark homeruns and fly off the shelves in droves… but at what point does SMOKTech take a breather?

“ELEMENT

Working with Element Vape, here’s what Spinfuel VAPE will be reviewing during the last week of May and through most of the month of June.  Do you see a homerun in this new crop of vape gear? I have high hopes for the Cobra Prince Tank (details below) and perhaps the new X-Force AIO, but some of these just seem so unnecessary. But, honestly, I don’t know. I’ve been wrong before, and I’ll be wrong again. Hell, when I saw the SMOK Mag Baby I couldn’t believe they actually made the thing. I wouldn’t touch it, or review it, because I thought it was a waste of time and money. But, according to some vendors, the Mag Baby is one of the hottest devices this year.

Although no one here as seen any of these new products up close, here’s what I think we can expect from these upcoming SMOK Mods and Tanks

SMOK I-PRIV 230W Kit

Voice Control System

SMOK I-PRIV Preview Look

The SMOK I-PRIV is coming on the heels of the iJoy Avenger; it is the SMOK Mod Kit with voice control.

The SMOK I-PRIV 230W TC Starter Kit is said to be an innovative leap featuring an AI-powered chipset capable of a Voice Control System very much like the iJoy Avenger. However, it will utilize Dual 18650/20700/21700 batteries and the Kit comes with the TFV12 Big Baby Prince Tank. Interestingly enough, so far SMOK as yet to release the Baby Prince or the Big Baby Prince as standalone Sub-Ohm Tanks.

My Take:

This SMOK I-PRIV Mod Kit is said to be on the larger side of SMOK Mods, certainly larger than SMOK Mods that use only 18650 cells. So, why pair it with the Big Baby Prince and not the full-size Prince? We’re not sure, and we can’t judge that decision until it arrives in a week or so. Or can we? These Big Baby Prince Tanks and the Baby Prince Tank are good tanks, just not as good as the full-size Prince due the lack of support for the full-size Prince Replacement Coils. Instead, these Baby and Big Baby Princes use TFV8 V8-Baby coils. Flavor and vapor from the Baby Coils are good, don’t get me wrong, but the Prince replacement coils are better, period.

As for Voice Control Systems? The decision is still out, even after spending a lot of time with the iJoy Avenger. As much as I like the Avenger as a performance mod, I don’t use the voice control, and unless SMOK has come up with something a whole lot better than iJoy has, I doubt I’ll use it with the I-PRIV.

SMOK TFV12 Prince Cobra Edition Tank

A Better Prince Sub-Ohm? Maybe so...

SMOK TFV12 Prince Cobra Edition TankSMOK TFV12 Prince Cobra Edition

Now here’s a new Sub-Ohm Tank I am definitely looking forward to. If for nothing else, I really enjoy the full-size Prince Replacement Coils over the TFV8 Baby Coils. The SMOK TFV12 Prince Cobra Sub-Ohm Tank is supposed to be a big update to the already high-performance TFV12 Prince series, using a superb Cellular Mesh wall sleeve and the ability of Magic Gradient, or changing colors as you vape (I think). Honestly, I have no idea what this means, yet, but you’ll be the first to know.

The Official Word: The addition of the Cellular Mesh provides a stunning visual experience, combined with the Magic Gradient that allows the tank itself to change colors as you vape (only available in certain colors). Each set comes with a bulb glass that features 7mL of maximum juice capacity, with the addition of acrylic bulb tube and acrylic drip for additional accessories! The TFV12 Prince Cobra has the upgraded rotary hinge top-fill method, with the implementation of a new locking mechanism that can be accessed when pushing the lock button. The TFV12 Prince Cobra introduces three new coil structures to the extensive TFV12 Prince Coil Structures: V12 Prince Mesh Core, V12 Prince Strip Core, and V12 Prince X2 Clapton. A culmination of creative imagination and phenomenal execution upon these details, the TFV12 Prince COBRA Edition is set to become the most desired Sub-Ohm Tank in the industry.

I don’t know about you, but I’m digging the idea of the Mesh Sleeves and Magic Gradient, and I hope the performance of the new Coils is even better than the TFV12 Prince, which would be something in and of itself. Yes indeed, looking to grab some of these as soon as SMOK decided to ship them. 1-2 Weeks I’m told.

Will these new coils work with the current Prince and Resa Prince Sub-Ohm’s? Probably…

SMOK G-PRIV Baby Luxe 85W Kit

Straight out of the SMOK Playbook...

SMOK G-PRIV Baby Luxe 85W Kit Preview

We’re currently reviewing the new SMOK X-PRIV Baby, (available now at Element Vape) and while it is a good-looking Mod with a maximum wattage output of 80W, once again that Big Baby Prince with  TFV8 V-Baby coils, make up the Kit version. Sadly, the X-PRIV Baby  is stricken with an internal battery of only 2300mAh. Hell, just one of my Nitecore 35A 3100mAh batteries holds more battery life than this Mod.

The SMOK G-PRIV Baby LUXE 80W Starter Kit is a super compact form factor that is ‘similar’ to the looks of the G-PRIV 2 Luxe, and it does include the touch screen like the G-PRIV Luxe. It is said to have the same luxurious and prismatic designs of the G-PRIV 2 LUXE, but from the photos I’m not yet convinced.

The G-PRIV Baby 80W delivers the same features of it’s larger sibling, while being centered around its large 2″ OLED Full-Color Touch Screen with upgraded UI (User Interface). The G-PRIV Baby LUXE uses a single 18650 battery (sold separately), that is accessed by a threaded battery top cap like several other mods of this size, including the PICO. Pairing with the G-PRIV Baby is the TFV12 Baby Prince Sub-Ohm Tank makes sense here, if for nothing else then the small size of the Mod. Additionally, like the X-PRIV Baby, the 80W output works well with the V8-Baby coils.

Unlike the X-PRIV Baby, at least the G-PRIV Baby Luxe offers the user the single replaceable 18650 cell, meaning no down time should one decide to use it.

With overall dimensions of 72mm by 51mm by 29.2mm, it’s small, but not too small, I think. Performance should be good, but I am struggling to accept the SMOK Playbook, since this Mod was predicted months ago by Spinfuel VAPE, I mean, honestly, the G-PRIV Baby LUXE will need to be something special in order to win this reviewer over.

SMOK Vape Pen 22 Light Edition Kit

Really? So soon after the Resa Stick?

SMOK Vape Pen 22 Light Edition Preview

Yet another Vape Pen from SMOK, the SMOK Vape Pen 22 Light Edition. Why? The SMOK Vape Pen 22 LIGHT EDITION Kit is a supposed upgrade to the original Vape Pen by SMOK, integrating an LED Light-Up functionality along with a large 6mL maximum juice capacity sub-ohm tank, with the Vape Pen Strip and Vape Pen Mesh Coils.

The VAPE PEN Light Edition measures 22mm in diameter and 110mm in height, roughly the same form factor and size as the other SMOK Vape Pens currently on the market. It begs the question; while the Mesh Coils are a nice touch, why not just release the Coils instead of an entire new device?

This one I just do not understand. At all.  The still-new SMOK Resa Stick is, I’ll admit, nearly twice the price, but it is much more attractive than this one, has a larger internal battery, and an eliquid capacity that puts this one to shame. This Vape Pen suffers from a tiny 1650mAh battery, probably offering no more than 90 minutes of moderate vape time. SMOK has done a lot better with their Vape Pens already, and the Resa Stick and the Stick Prince are better options in every way.

We’ll review it fairly, but I for one am not excited about it in the least.

SMOK X-Force AIO Starter Kit

Should be a awesome AIO Device

SMOK X-FORCE AIO Starter Kit Preview

The SMOK X-FORCE AIO Starter Kit looks to be a sleek, modern all-in-one device sporting an internal 2000mAh rechargeable battery and a whopping 7mL maximum juice capacity.  This AIO uses a replaceable 0.3ohm X-Force Coil (X-Force Replacement Coils are Here).

The SMOK X-FORCE seems to be a quality constructed AIO with attractive carved lines, and it comes in a variety of in color options.  The X Force uses a 2000mAh rechargeable battery and has a convenient microUSB charging port and plenty of safety protections. The X-Force uses a single stealthy firing bar, and operates with a direct voltage method based output, using five LED battery indicators for instant feedback of the battery life. The X FORCE Tank features a refillable cartridge section with an impressive 7mL e-juice reservoir allowing the user to vape far longer than most other AIO’s. The new 0.3ohm X-Force Coils is said to provide great flavor and vapor production with its traverse airflow channels. Yes, it sound like an AIO done right, and we hope that it is. Whatever the case, you can expect a full review a few days after receiving it from our partner. I’m pulling for this one, the idea of a good AIO is something I’ve long waited for, and so far they have all been disappoints in one way or another. The X-Force might just be different.

While the Nic-Salt Eliquid expansion is in full swing, the this AIO would probably make a great Nic-Salt vaporizer, my plans are to use it as a stealth vape, using my usual 3mg, 70/30 e-juice.

The SMOK X-Force Replacement Coils is said to offer phenomenal atomizer cores for the X-FORCE Kit, providing an innovative traverse air channels to maximize vapor production and flavor production.

SMOK X-Force Replacement Coils Features:

  • 0.3ohm X-Force Coil
  • Traverse Coil Airflow Design
  • Optimal For Flavor & Vapor

SMOK PRIV M17 60W Kit

Another MTL Kit from SMOK

SMOK PRIV M17 60W Kit Preview

The SMOK PRIV M17 60W Starter Kit is portable and pocket-sized set, featuring an nicely designed device with a miserly 1200mAh built-in rechargeable battery. It is paired with the Stick M17 Sub-Ohm Tank. The PRIV M17 uses a squeeze-to-fire firing panel, and a single-button direct voltage operation. The fire panel is a large lateral fire key and LED battery light indicator.  The PRIV M17 can fire up to 60W of maximum output and comes with a suite of safety protections. Included in each set is the Stick M17 Sub-Ohm Tank, featuring a slim form factor with 2mL juice capacity, and has an MTL  bottom airflow control, and easy to use top-fill method.  Owners and pick up SMOK Stick M17 Replacement Coils at Element Vape.

Obviously, the PRIV M17 is designed for new vapers, or vapers that prefer an easy to use vape, mouth to lung pulls, and most certainly vapes less frequently than vapers in my circle. Because of its limited use to me, this review will be performed by one of our resident MTL, light vapers that might appreciate a device like this. While I can understand and appreciate what the SMOK X-Force AIO is attempting to do, I don’t see much to recommend a 1200mAh, 2mL capacity vaping instrument that will sell for just under forty bucks.

The SMOK PRIV M17 will include the following:

  • 1 PRIV M17 Battery
  • 1 Stick M17 Sub-Ohm Tank
  • 1 0.4ohm Stick M17 Dual Coil
  • 1 0.6ohm Stick M17 Dual Coil
  • 1 Spare Glass Tube
  • 1 MicroUSB Cable
  • Instructional Manual

Conclusion

You can be sure that this is just the beginning of another summer of SMOKTech products that will flood the market with hits and misses. We’ll get them, review them, and always present a fair review. This bunch offers a couple of products I’m looking forward to, but the others? Not so much. But I’ve been surprised before, so you never know.

It is the opinion of this reviewer that SMOK does not have to automatically release a Baby version of their popular devices, nor do they need to release so many new products to stay ahead in the vape game. Some of my all-time favorite devices have some from SMOK, the X-PRIV, the H-PRIV 2, the RESA Prince, the TFV12 PRINCE, to name a few, but for vapers that cannot afford to buy new devices every week, I get this feeling that every time SMOK does release a new Mod, Tank, or even Vape Pen, they cannibalize their own products. Am I missing something?
