Wet Stache eLiquid
A Spinfuel eLiquid Team Review
Wet Stache Custard-based premium eliquids…
All Day Vapes. That’s the aim for many (most?) eliquid creators. An eLiquid a vaper can enjoy all day long, without a worry about vapers tongue, or flavor burnout. An eliquid that won’t make you cough no matter how deep a lung hit you take. Wet Stache has gone and developed 5 delicious eliquids, all high VG, all custard based, that qualify, in every way, as real, honest-to-goodness all-day-vapes. What a real pleasure it was to spend 3 days with this luscious brand.
Nicotine Choices: 1.5mg, 3mg, 6mg, 9mg and of course, a nic-free blend.
Wet Stache eliquid characteristics
Wet Stache uses the hashtag “#cleanvape” in their marketing, including social media marketing. They do so with good reason. These five eliquids are sold in crystal clear bottles and transparent labels. They do this, I imagine, to invite people to gaze at the actual liquid inside. Crystal clear eliquid… thick and scrumptious e-liquid without a single free particle roaming around. Just by looking you anticipate a great experience.
Three of the five are completely colorless, and the other two have slight shades of bronze coloring. Despite the slight coloring, Wet Stache uses no artificial coloring, and in fact are proud to show off the independent lab results, including results that show no DX or AP chemicals are found in their eJuice.
As for flavor, each of the five flavors are accurately described by Wet Stache, and each eliquid deliver subtle flavors riding atop a nice custard flavor base.
Wet Stache custard eliquids beckon deep lung hits with sub-ohm tanks and RDA’s. When vaped with Ni200, Ti, and SS wire coils on a TC mod, these flavors are even more nuanced as they warm up. We found all flavors stood up well at 550 degrees Fahrenheit.
When vaped in high quality sub-ohm tanks with ultra low Kanthal coils we could throw upwards of 60w without scorching the juice. And while they are all delicious in the sub-ohm environment they are extraordinary in RDA’s and RTA’s. Tom built the team several ultra-low coils for use in the RDA’s we have here and the dripping was exceptional. However, if you’re thinking of vaping Wet Stache eJuice in a normal, 2.0-ohm+ clearomizer like 2014’s Aspire CE5 or even the old Aspire Nautilus and Kanger Protanks we strongly suggest you don’t even try. The reason is below…
Thick Juice – Wet Stache eliquid is really thick eliquid. The glass eyedropper that comes with every bottle can barely do the job of filling a tank. I jokingly told Kiera during the review period that you might just need to scoop the eJuice out of the bottles. While that’s not true, it sometimes felt that way. Let’s just say that no matter how good you are at using glass eyedroppers you’ll never fill the dropper up with a single squeeze.
This thickness has its benefits and drawbacks. Among the benefits is the use in RDA’s and big coil heads. The juice clings to the organic cotton and despite having to wait another minute or two to fully saturate the cotton, you’ll be very happy with the results. The drawbacks include vaping through a lot of juice, especially with larger coils, higher wattage, and lower ohms. Wet Stache eJuice is definitely for advanced vapers looking for great flavor and enormous clouds of vapor.
How My Team Scores Eliquid
The lowest score an eliquid can receive is 1.00. A score of 1.00 represents an eliquid that cannot be vaped by the member of the team that awarded the score. A 1.00 does not solely consider flavor, it includes any unpleasant aftertastes or other indicators that point to an awful eliquid.
A 2.00 score would represent a score for an eliquid that is not made with quality ingredients, and does not deliver a flavor profile that matches the brand’s official flavor profile, and proves to be an unpleasant vape experience, though not totally unvapeable.
A 3.00 score represents an Average eliquid. That is, average for 2015-2016 Standards. It means the use of adequate quality ingredients, fairly similar flavor profile of the brand’s official profile, though sometimes written as hyperbole. A 3.00 score is not the median score, it’s just a non-special, okay eliquid found in many good budget brands.
A 4.00 score represents a better-than-average eliquid for the 2015/2016 ejuice standards. The quality of the ingredients is apparent, and high-end. The official flavor description is an accurate description from the reviewer’s point of view. Many modern eliquid brands fall into this level. A score of 4.00+ is equivalent to the score of a 5.00 score in 2013 terms.
A 5.00 score is just shy of a perfect eliquid. A 5.00 score eliquid is made of apparent premium ingredients and has a flavor profile that outshines the official flavor profile given to it from the brand. The eliquid delivers not only a great vape, but delivers vape satisfaction beyond the norm. When all members of the review team find an eliquid to be a 5.00 eliquid it is awarded the Spinfuel Choice Award.

You can take our shared advice on how best to get the most out of Wet Stache custard base eliquids with a grain of salt, but after the time we spent with these eliquids we’re confident in the following:
- You will vape through dramatically more eliquid with pro-level sub-ohm tanks and RDA’s than you will with standard 0.5-ohm Subtanks by Kanger or similar grade tanks. To extend the life of your 30mL bottles avoid the sub-ohm tanks we used.
- If you don’t mind vaping through 30mL in 36 hours the reward of vaping Wet Stache eliquids with pro-level sub-ohms and RDA’s is well worth it. As delicious as these flavors are, the pro-level tanks will wring out every drop of flavor.
- Open your bottles after a good shake, then close. Repeat for a day to allow the flavors to truly marry. If possible, allow a full tank to sit quietly for several hours, overnight is even better. The flavors become fuller, mellower, and richer.
All of these tips are optional of course, and even without following them the vape experience you’ll get will be extraordinary. We regard Wet Stache as an ‘ultra premium’ brand, and we believe you will too.
Price Vs. Value
$25 for a 30mL bottle is on the expensive side, there is no doubt about it. There are numerous brands that sell delicious, High VG eliquids for a third of that price. If Wet Stache is beyond the scope of what you are willing to spend, well, only you can decide that. However, in order to find out how special a $25 bottle of ultra premium eliquid can be, we suggest picking up a bottle or two for special occasions. If you enjoy them as much as we did, look for sales, coupons, whatever. Sometimes $25 is well spent on a 30mL bottle, we believe Wet Stache is worthy of one of those times.
The Team Speaks!
“A juicy smooth creamy strawberry note combined with a broad & balanced tropical flavor. Vape that juicy!”
Julia: 5.00 – All five flavors in this review could not score lower than 4.00. All the ingredients are superior and they are blended exceptionally well. The only thing that could cause a Wet Stache eliquid to lose a point is by its official description. Hyperbole aside, if the flavor profile matches the description it will end up scoring 5.00 points, thus earning a Spinfuel Choice Award should all 4 members consider the description accurate.
Fruit Cream Custard is so much better than I thought it was going to be. My initial thinking was that the custard base would be heavier in all 5 flavors, but it is not. The base is gentle custard for which the additional flavors are transported into the vapor.
To vape Fruit Cream Custard is to experience a 2-story flavor. On the bottom floor sits this river of custard, but the higher floor is engulfed in a brighter, relaxed fruitiness that just works as a perfect all-day-vape. On the one hand the river of custard floods the tastebuds, while the fruit dances about. It’s a wonderful experience and a great tasting combination. I’ll add most of the five to my rotation, that’s how well executed these eliquids are.
Kiera: 5.00 – I discussed Fruit Cream Custard with Julia, and the rest of the team, to see if anyone else had the same experience that I did. I’m not sure how to say this, but Fruit Cream Custard seems to be two flavors working independently. Not a flavor combination, not in the traditional sense anyway, it’s like the custard base and the fruit base are hitting different parts of the brain, giving me the feeling that I am vaping with a dual-tank system, where one side is filled with a custard and the other with a tropical fruit flavor. Better yet, like oil and water, separate flavors that won’t mix into a single vape experience.
Fruit Cream Custard is a unique experience. The custard is delicate, the fruit light and sweet, and for me it’s the right kind of eliquid for an all day vape. Wonderful!
Jason: 5.00 – For a brand I’ve never heard of before these guys rocked my vape world. I love the way they market this ultra clean vape, the optically clear bottles and the transparent labeling, it drives home the truth of this line. I was expecting a heavy custard base and loads of additional flavors but it seems the opposite is true. The custard is anything but heavy, yet it still delivers that custard taste. The fruit in Fruit Cream Custard is remarkable, sweet and tropical, perhaps like the tropical flavors are bathed in sweet cream.
I did not expect to like this one, yet it still would have received a high score for quality alone. Truth is, the flavor is grand, and I’d definitely add it to my rotation.
“Just the best Vanilla flavored custard out there. Solid all day vanilla flavor wrapped in a custard cloud finish. Try it for yourself.”
Julia: 5.00 – Thankfully all 5 eliquids use the same brilliant custard base. How horrible it would have been had the chosen custard flavor been one we couldn’t enjoy. Luckily that did not happen, so for me this is all about enjoying that creamy airy custard base and finding out if the additional flavors fit the blend in this high quality juice. Take Vanilla Custard for example…
There are hundreds of vanilla custard eliquids in the world, so what makes this one stand out from the pack? What is it that can make a vanilla custard become an all day vape? When does that ever happen?
Well, to me these two flavors, custard and vanilla, while related in some ways, are distinct in the Wet Stache version. The creamy, fluffy custard is never too heavy or exhausting, and the vanilla flavoring seems to sit atop the custard and bring its own flavor profile to the table; a profile that is a sweet authentic vanilla running at half-speed.
While this vanilla and custard profiles are separate and apart, they work together to bring forth a sweet vanilla experience that will not overwhelm the tastebuds. I found myself refilling my tank over and over, without even thinking about a heavyweight vape. A wonderful combination, a winning combination.
Tom: 5.00 – I remember another vanilla custard the team reviewed in the past few months that was absolutely delicious, but much, much weightier. Definitely a quality vape; but one that couldn’t go all day. Somehow, Wet Stache has created a vanilla custard vape that can be vaped all day without overindulging.
Vanilla Custard first delivers the same smooth custard as the other blends in this review, but on the exhale the flavor of an even smoother vanilla comes through. To describe this as best as I can I would say to imagine the flavor of vanilla as a range of deep/heavy/thick from 1-10, 1 for the lightest vanilla flavor possible, and 10 for a thick heavy vanilla anchor. For my vaping pleasure I want a vanilla that is no heavier than a 7. A 7 is pleasurable without getting too heavy, but just barely. The vanilla in Vanilla Custard by Wet Stache sits at about a 4-6. In other words, the vanilla flavor is there but its as light as a feather.
Not so sure that I would keep a bottle in stock for my rotation, I might. For vanilla custard lovers that want to do an all-day-vape with it, this is the one you want.
Kiera: 5.00 – How did Wet Stache stay hidden from us? If nothing else, the brand is ultra premium and would easily withstand the most drastic standards from the FDA, unless of course the FDA wants to be jerks about nicotine. I love the the whole “clean” look of the bottles and labels, the clarity of the juice inside those bottles, but especially the way I feel after hours of vaping a Wet Stache juice.
You know how sometimes, after a heavy vape day you can feel the effects of blowing out huge clouds of vapor hour after hour? Its almost a dullness that comes over you, like maybe your lungs are just tired. With all the Wet Stache juices, I never felt that in the 3+ days I’ve been vaping them exclusively.
Vanilla Custard is the prime example of what I mean. Even though I have several vanilla custards in my collection and I love them all, they can exhaust me after hours of vaping. Not so with Wet Stache, this vanilla custard is light enough for an all-day-vape. This blend is luxurious, soft, and still flavorful. It’s a tough balancing act for an eliquid, but it’s the truth.
Jason: 5.00 – For this review I used the new Uwell Rafale tank (review coming soon) and each time I changed flavors I would toss the coil head and use a new one. But, after my third flavor, and after coming to the conclusion that the custard base (a brilliant idea BTW) was the same in each one, I decided that once I had spent the appropriate time with all five I would go back and use the same coil head, vape a tankful, and refill it with another flavor, just to see how the liquids held up. I’m glad I did because I enjoyed them almost as much as I did when I used a new coil. Nothing mind blowing here, just thought it was interesting enough to mention it.
Now, about Vanilla Custard; To me, this flavor matches the flavor of a Burger King Vanilla Milkshake. A creamy base with highlights of pure vanilla. And like the vanilla milkshake it doesn’t leave me feeling indulgent like a vanilla shake from SteakNShake or random ice cream parlors that sell shakes, where you leave wishing you’d never finished that damned shake.
Wet Stache’s descriptions for their flavors do an excellent job of never over-reaching. They say this flavor is vanilla wrapped in a custard finish and that is exactly what it is.
“A sweet, spicy cinnamon rice milk flavored drink from the home of the Stache, we had to develop into one of our signature flavors. Created to be vaped all day, so vape it all day!”
Julia: 5.00 – For some reason I chose Horchata Custard as my first outing with Wet Stache. I’m not a big fan of Horchata, and we came off another review recently where their Horchata eliquid was nearly unvapeable, so maybe I was using this opportunity to see if I had still had grave misgivings over Horchata or not. Remarkably, this blend was unequivocally marvelous, and certainly an all-day-vape.
The first thing I looked for was what I always look for in a High VG eliquid review; the gentleness that is characteristic of a high quality vegetable glycerin. Nothing spoils a High VG eliquid than cheap, bottom shelf VG. (Remember, this is the first Wet Stache eliquid I vaped) To my relief, that sweet gentle custard was engulfed in a sea of extreme high quality VG so I knew immediately that the only thing that could ruin Wet Stache was flavoring and crafting of the ejuice.
On the inhale you will taste a wisp of cinnamon and what I think is almonds. Definitely Horchata, but much more controlled, tamed and downright enjoyable. Horchata lovers will go nuts over Horchata Custard. As for me, I am willing to go on record saying that Horchata Custard was the most enjoyable Horchata eliquid I’ve ever vaped. I won’t add it to my rotation, but I didn’t wind up shorting my time with it.
Tom: 5.00 – Every flavor here is an all-day-vape, even the Horchata Custard. This blend has just the right amount of Horchata flavor so as not to overwhelm the tastebuds or ruin the good-natured custard base.
Horchata is a flavoring many brands are taking advantage of, but this is the first I’ve seen to attempt, and succeed, in making an all day vape Horchata. With flavor notes of cinnamon, rice milk, almonds, and probably a couple of mysterious flavors, Wet Stache has produced a truly fine vape for Horchata lovers.
I would definitely add Horchata Custard to my rotation.
Kiera: 5.00 – I have asked myself over and over, can a good custard base turn an otherwise not-so-good flavor, like Horchata, into a pleasurable and gratifying vape. The only plausible answer after spending time with Horchata Custard is “Yes. Yes, it can.” How else can I explain my displeasure with Horchata eliquids over the years and my sudden fondness for this particular eJuice?
Horchata Custard begins with a quiet tap of sweet cinnamon on a bed of very thick vapor. After the cinnamon is accepted by the tastebuds the flavor of rice milk and a few unidentifiable flavors takes over on the exhale. While I would choose another flavor over Horchata every time, I would venture to say that every Horchata lover out there would love this one.
Wet Stache says this Horchata Custard is their signature flavor, and I’m sure they right. For my tastes, it is their Fruit Cream Custard and Caramel Custard that put these guys over the top.
Jason: 5.00 – There was a time that I couldn’t stand Horchata as a flavor but I’ve since grown to like it a lot. As I’ve said in the past, it was Hurricane Vapor’s Horchata flavor that turned me around. However, their Horchata is 10 times as strong as Horchata Custard, as well it should be since Hurricane Vapor’s initial Horchata was a 50:50 PG/VG blend and I was vaping it with above-1-ohm coils. This Horchata Custard is way better than HV’s.
Instead of hitting you over the head like some Horchata blends do, Horchata Custard is a gentle rolling vape experience of light Latino cinnamon wrapped in a huge cloud of vapor with oh-so-light flavors indicative of the Horchata profile.
Horchata Custard allows for deep lung hits with no irritation. In this immensely dense, slightly aromatic vapor produced by the high VG custard base, you get Horchata profile on top of the sweet, calm custard. I enjoyed Horchata Custard so much that I have added it to my rotation.
“This sweet and savory with a cream custard taste that takes you to the dessert counter of your youth. Treat yourself to this awesome vape and get hooked.”
Julia: 5.00 – As my second flavor of this review I chose Caramel Custard because it would be, I thought, a straight up, make it or break it, caramel custard we’ve seen a million times before. A High VG caramel custard could wind up being a great all-day-vape or a complete failure. Fortunately, it is an awesome all-day-vape that I have added to my rotation after spending only a couple of hours with it.
What makes Caramel Custard so good is, naturally, the best custard base I’ve experienced, and a remarkably authentic sweet caramel. Like the Fruit Cream Custard, Wet Stache crafts this blend in such a way as both the custard base and the caramel complement each other, they do not become a singular flavor.
The gentle custard base is experienced on the inhale, as to be expected, and on the exhale this ball of pure caramel flavoring escapes and immediately floods the tastebuds with a luscious sweetness found in the best caramel candies and desserts. Definitely in my rotation, and if you care to try a truly fine caramel custard that can be your next all-day-vape, you must try it.
Tom: 5.00 – There are many levels of caramel flavor, from the cheap dimestore stuff you find in dollar candy bars to the pure, expensive caramel you might find in Godiva chocolates. Caramel Custard by Wet Stache is unquestionably the latter.
I don’t believe that in all the time I have been vaping that I’ve tasted such a pure caramel flavor before. That’s not to say I haven’t vaped some incredible caramel based eliquids before, what is remarkable about this caramel is the superior flavor. Clean yet sweet, full flavor but light, the ability to stop itself from becoming a part of the custard base…these are the things that this particular caramel flavoring possesses. And because of these things, Caramel Custard makes an outstanding all-day-vape.
Kiera: 5.00 – Before beginning my time with Caramel Custard I dissembled and cleaned my tank, replaced the coil head, filled the tank, and then let it sit for a few hours. This regimen is what I always do when I review an eliquid, but the reason I bring this up is that I want to make sure that you understand that my experience with Caramel Custard began just as any other eliquid review would.
What makes this particular flavor, this Caramel Custard, so different is that for the first time in as long as I can remember, I taste REAL high quality caramel in the copious amount of thick vapor. I don’t mean a good “eliquid” caramel found in many caramel eliquids… I mean genuine caramel, found in the most expensive candies and desserts.
Funnily enough, what I could only make out in small wisps of flavor was the custard base, this sweet bed of light custard that served, or at least seemed to serve, as the vehicle for the pure caramel. No doubt the custard base high VG is responsible for the thick clouds of vapor, but in each molecule of vapor heavy lies caramel atoms filled to the brim. A little too much? Maybe, but Caramel Custard made a deep impression on me, and a caramel eliquid has never done that to me before. This is a must try eliquid, but make sure you do one thing before taking your first lung hit; fill your tank and let it sit for at least a few hours. Allowing it to sit in your tank brings all the caramel flavor to the top, like cream in freshly drawn milk from a cow. That’s where the magic is, the top level of unadulterated caramel liquid.
Jason: 5.00 – Like all the other custard based eliquids in the Wet Stache lineup, Caramel Custard produces massive amounts of vapor and just the right amount of flavor for an all-day-vape.
Like the other four, I score Caramel Custard 5.00 points because it is a fine, high quality eliquid that produces exactly the flavor profile that is should. That said, there is something special about this one, if I could award this flavor an extra point I would, based on the sheer quality of the caramel flavoring and the expertness in which is was carefully crafted with its custard base.
If you try just one caramel eliquid this year, make it Caramel Custard by Wet Stache. Remarkable doesn’t begin to describe it.
“Pear Berry Custard is here! It’s 2016. New Year, New Flavor. A vape like no other Wet Stache has brewed this very special blend of seasonal fresh pears mixed with a future berry and custard note.”
Julia: 5.00 – I thought long and hard before I decided to type the next paragraph. I wasn’t sure that you would believe me. But, after a while I made the decision that the information was needed to support my impression for this new eliquid by Wet Stache, Pear Berry Custard.
For several weeks Kiera and I have been enjoying a lot of red pears from the grocery store. How it started was that Kiera saw red pears on sale and decided to pick a few up and bring them home. We enjoy a lot of fruit in our diet, but pears were never a big part of it. But, these red pears, they were amazing. Sweet, tender, ripe, and pure pear deliciousness. The next time Kiera went shopping she bought home twice as many, and then it was a steady amount of pears until just last week, when the price shot up and we realized that when fruit prices go up they are swiftly going out of season. In any case, both of us believe that we are can tell you with absolute certainty if Pear Berry Custard has authentic pear flavor.
My answer, yes absolutely, there is plenty of genuine sweet pear flavor in this blend. In addition, this is the first of the five eliquids that is actually a true blend, and not a flavor riding the custard wave. Pear Berry Custard is an equal amount of sweet pear and sweet berries blended into one fine concoction, with a gentle custard flavor swirling in and through the pears and berries.
Pear Berry Custard is also the strongest flavored of the five. I believe it is still an all-day-vape like the rest, though the berry and pear flavors are at least twice as flavorful as, say, the Fruit Cream Custard. It has the same glorious amounts of sweet thick vapor, and it is such a refreshing vape that I have placed it firmly in my rotation. Excellent!
Tom: 5.00 – I saved this flavor for last because it was Wet Stache’s newest eliquid and it made sense to try the ‘originals’ first and then see if Wet Stache was staying loyal to the five or were they taking their custard base line in a new direction. To be honest, I don’t know…yet.
You see, Pear Berry Custard has similarities and differences of the original five. Vapor clouds are every bit as thick and voluminous as ever, but the intensity of the flavors are stronger here. However, the stronger flavors could be the very choice of the fruits, pear and berries. And therein lies the problem, which really isn’t a problem.
As I have indicated in previous reviews I am looking for eliquids that I can use as ‘in-betweeners’, a break from my usual diet of tobacco and coffee flavors. Now, with several bottles of Johnson Creek Vapor Company Bold Tobacco under my belt, it’s the perfect time to add another in-betweener, and it is undeniably Pear Berry Custard. This blend of great flavors, with the lightly sweet custard base, is not only a splendid eliquid in its own right, it is a perfect palate cleanser for tobacco/coffee vapers. Vape some Pear Berry Custard for an hour or less and before you know it, you’re ready for more Bold Tobacco. Bravo!
Kiera: 5.00 – Julia and I enjoyed Pear Berry Custard so much that we blazed through our bottles way too fast. Taking humongous lung hits and exhaling slowly, the wonderful flavors of sweet pear and tart berries was truly heaven sent.
On the inhale the immediate flavor is the pears, on the exhale comes the slap of fresh tart berries, and slowing down the exhale only prolongs the extraordinary blend of magic. My only suggestion for the deepest flavor is to allow your tank to sit for several hours, overnight if you can, before taking your first lung hit. By allowing the eliquid to age in the tank marries the pear and berry flavors to their utmost ripeness. Fabulous!
Jason: 5.00 – I know Tom is going to mention our quest for what we decided to call “in-betweeners”, so I won’t harp on that. Instead, I’ll talk about the two flavors that blend so well with Wet Stache’s mind-blowing custard base.
The pear flavor is both immediate and long-lasting in each lung hit. It’s the first flavor I taste, as well as the last. In between this pear goodness is a sweet and tart berry flavor, but don’t ask me to tell you what berries. It could raspberry or boysenberry for all I know. Either way, your brain will tell you its berries right away, and you will know it to be true.
I don’t know if the others will sense this or not, but in my mind, Pear Berry Custard is the only eliquid of the five that works as a true blend.
If any of our impressions appeal to your sense of taste, pick up a bottle of Pear Berry Custard, you won’t be disappointed.
Without a doubt, the team agrees that Wet Stache is a remarkable line of eliquids. We award all five with the Spinfuel Choice Award on the merits. From the excellent craftsmanship to the extraordinary flavors, and to incredible vapor clouds, Wet Stache deserves to be recognized as an outstanding brand.
As a line for drippers or sub-ohm tank Wet Stache stands toe to toe with the best of the best. Their inspiring confidence of creating a line of eliquids using a custard base as the defining component of each flavor proves that this brand, and the people behind it, as masters at what they do.
Lastly, #CLEANVAPE is more than a marketing ploy. Crystal clear glass bottles and transparent labels certainly lend credence to the whole #cleanvape environment, but it is the sheer quality of the ingredients and the dedication of developing pure eliquids that give Wet Stache the gravitas to become a leader in the eLiquid community.
