A Vaporshark DNA250 Special Preview
Vaporshark has updated their flagship box mod (the Vaporshark DNA250) with the new Evolv DNA250 board, bringing with it all the improvements of the new board, and some other minor tweaks to hardware itself.
The Vaporshark DNA250 is available now and can be purchased at Vapor Authority for just $174.99. ($15 less than Vaporshark stores and online shop) You can buy one now, or wait for our in-depth review, the choice, as always, is yours.
We are currently reviewing the newest flagship box mod from Vaporshark, so while we continue to work with it we want to let you know that our first impression can, and sometimes do, change. (This is the reason we take our time with our reviews). For now, this new Vaporsharp flagship mod looks every bit as nice as all the other previous Vaporshark flagship DNA box mods. The basic shape, the location of the display and 510-connector will be familiar to all users of prior Vaporshark models going all the way back to the DNA40 (the first to offer temperature control by the way).
First Impression
The Vaporshark DNA250, like the DNA200 and DNA40 before it, has a simple, straightforward design. That said, some vapers find this mod awkward to use, mainly because the OLED display sits on the bottom of the device and to grab a glimpse of the readout it requires a full-on turn to reveal the display. For fans of the mod this flip of the wrist means little, and is buried in the many positive attributes of this type of design; i.e., simplicity, durability, reliability.
Evolv DNA250 vs the DNA200
The real changes then are mostly internal and rely on the work Evolv has done with their newest board, the DNA250. For an in-depth look at how the DNA250 stacks up to the previous board, the DNA200, Tom McBride has written an excellent piece going over all the tweaks and changes with the new board.
Box mods take on a million different designs yet retain the words to describe them; box mod. It’s fair to say that the Vaporshark DNA250 fits the description well, although its more of a rectangle than a box, but you know what I mean. The Vaporshark DNA250 is a very sophisticated device with a simple, elegant design. If past experiences with other Vaporshark DNA flagships is any indication, our full length review will be exciting.
