SMOK TFV12 is Coming… Can You Feel the Anticipation?

SMOK TFV12 Cloud Beast King is expected to ship next week, (first week of February 2017) just as soon as the Chinese Holiday is finished and the manufacturers are back at work. We are expecting a lot from this newest Sub-Ohm tank from SMOKTech, so today we’d like to provide you with a sneak peek at what to expect, and our initial impressions based on the information we have, and the experience we’ve gleaned from our past and present experience with the TFV4 and the TFV8 line.

The SMOK Cloud Beast Tank has surpassed everyone’s expectations in sales and performance, making the TFV8 line the most successful line of Sub-Ohm tanks since the beginning of the vape industry. It is, in all its iterations, the most used tank here at Spinfuel VAPE.

In under a year SMOK has introduced the original TFV8 Cloud Beast, a 6ml behemoth, the TFV8 Baby Beast, at 3mL capacity, and the TFV8 Big Baby, at 4.5mL capacity. A wide range of coil heads, and an RBA head, have provided all vapers with the opportunity to find the best vape possible. In recent weeks SMOKTech has amped up these TFV8 tanks with the release of various colors for each of the three tanks under the TFV8 moniker.

SMOK TFV12 Cloud Beast King

The TFV12 Cloud Beast King Sub-Ohm tank is coming very soon, and with it the biggest, and hopefully, the best, cloud-chasing coil heads yet. We can expect the Cloud Beast King to have the V12-T12 (Twelve Coils!) and V12-X4(quadruple coils) and V12-Q4 (quadruple coils), which these choices in coils the Cloud Beast King certainly seems poised to be another huge success for SMOKTech in 2017. Of course, what we expect and what is, is not always the same thing.

At first the Stainless Steel and Black TFV12 Cloud Beast King will begin arriving at vendor shops in early February. Later, we can expect the TFV12 to arrive in Rainbow and Gold, with the exact color shades currently seen in the TFV8 line. What we don’t see, yet, is the deep, luscious Red, Green, or Blue available in the TFV8 Cloud Beast, Baby Beast and Big Baby. Hopefully that will happen sooner rather than later.

Size Matters

The SMOK TFV12 Cloud Beast King is said to be 27mm in diameter, and 70mm tall. Capacity is the same 6mL as the TFV8 Cloud Beast, which is 25.5mm in diameter. The new coils are said to have a wattage range of 60W to 320W, depending on which of the coils you use. You’ll want to have a mod on hand that can output at least 100W to use the TFV12 Cloud Beast King.

Coil Heads and the RBA

The included RBA head (in the full TFV12 Tank Kit) is a single-coil setup, allowing the user to build any coil they want, in any wire type they want. There is a large deck and it can hold an abundant amount of cotton. Use the Coil photos in this preview to see the range of resistance and the wattage range for each.

The V12-T12 is the 12-coil model with a resistance of 0.12Ω and a wattage range of 60-350W. SMOK tells us that the best range is 130-200W, which we’ll test thoroughly in our review.

The V12-T6 is a sextuplet coil setup with eLiquid flow control with a resistance of 0.15Ω, and a wattage range of 90-320W, and SMOK suggests the best vape experience will be between 120-180W.

The V12-X4 delivers a resistance of 0.15Ω with quad coils and has a wattage range of 60W to 220W. SMOK says the best vape is between 100-170W. It will be interesting to see how accurate SMOK is with these recommendations.

The MSRP of the SMOK TFV12 Cloud Beast King RBA Edition is $58.99, but you can expect to pay a lot less than that when purchased through vendors like Element Vape, MyVaporStoreVapor Authority, and Direct Vapor.

What We Expect From the TFV12 Cloud Beast King

This is just a preview of what’s coming in less than two weeks. As soon as our shipment arrives we’ll begin the review process. We plan to spend a week with the new tank, and each member of the staff will use one and provide input into the overall, in-depth review.

Based on experience with the TFV4 and TFV8 line we expect monumental things from the TFV12 line. However, because the lowest wattage range in the current coil line up is a whopping 90W, the TFV12 will appeal to advanced users much more than others. Our TFV8 line perform extremely well at just 45W the X4 Quad coil, so we’re looking at twice that, at least, with the Cloud Beast King.

If SMOKTech can continue to produce coils that provide the excellent flavor that the current TFV8 line of coils does, from any eliquid blend, then this new tank is going to be a Sub-Ohm tank that will find its way into every advanced vaper’s arsenal of vape gear. Right now, we just don’t know.

We admit some disappointment in SMOKTech’s decision not to release their gorgeous Red, Green, and Blue finish that we have with the TFV8 Cloud Beast, but this decision won’t reflect on our in-depth review.

The Spinfuel VAPE Review is expected to publish by mid-February 2017.
