The Vapor Girl eLiquid Review

“Can an eLiquid artist go too far? “ – Anonymous – 2242AD

Head Writer: Jason Little

The Spinfuel eLiquid Review Team have reviewed eLiquids from The Vapor Girl a few times over the past year or so. We know just how talented Victoria and her husband can be when it comes to creating new eJuice flavors. No one can deny the talent, the ambition, and the creativity of The Vapor Girl. They have earned more Spinfuel Choice Awards then I can remember.

Sometimes their new eLiquid flavors hit it out of the ballpark, and sometimes, just sometimes, they’ll reach too far. Well, too far for this team anyway. As much as we try to expand our personal horizons when it comes to new and unique flavors we’re not as far along as we’d like to think. You’ll see what I mean below. But first…

The Vapor Girl Empire

In addition to growing the online store and the wholesale side of the business, The Vapor Girl has now begun to explore brick and mortar vape shops with not one, but two retail locations. The Vapor Girl brand is exploding, and it all began with the sometimes-ingenious eJuice creations. No other vendor does more to push the envelope of “flavor” more than TVG. (The Vapor Girl)

But, The Vapor Girl has expanded dramatically beyond eLiquids now. Online and in the brick and mortar locations The Vapor Girl offers a wide variety of batteries, starter kits, cartomizers, clearomizers, and many, many unique, hard to find vape gear. If you’re ever looking for something ‘different’ for that special someone in your life chances are you’ll find it at The Vapor Girl, from DIY products to Raw Herbal Atomizers.

I’ve had my eye on a PV called “LEO Sport Kit” (see below), which has a beautiful ‘wood’ exterior to it. I’ve only seen it on The Vapor Girl website, and one day I’m going to buy one and review it. It looks like one gorgeous PV! That’s just one example of the items you’ll discover on The Vapor Girl Website, and almost nowhere else.

eLiquids

Today, the Spinfuel eLiquid Review Team has five (5) flavors to talk about. Five very different flavors; both traditional and experimental. They are reviewed below. But, before we get to them, let’s go over a bit about The Vapor Girl eLiquids in general.

THE VAPOR GIRL As Mad-Scientist

In our previous review of The Vapor Girl we talked about a particular and peculiar flavor called “Pizza”. The ability of the artist that mixed this flavor was astounding; the juice smelled and tasted just like Pizza. The only problem? It just wasn’t something we felt ‘should’ be vaporized. Regardless, The Vapor Girl deserves kudos for accomplishing it, and taking the risk, no matter what the outcome.

The risks continue and The Vapor Girl is managing to come up with some very strange flavors. Again, you have to give them credit for trying to push the boundaries of what is a natural flavor to vaporize and what is an unnatural flavor to vaporize. We, the team, may not appreciate the outcome of the flavor, but we certainly appreciate the effort behind it.

No one pitches a perfect game every time.

Our understanding is that the new, strange, flavors are going over well with the vaping public near and around The Vapor Girl’s brick and mortar store. That’s terrific, it really is, but our team had, well, issues, with two the strange new flavors. Issues that need some explanation, so that we can give our impression without tainting your desire to reach beyond the normal and go where no Vapers have gone before.

The Review

As always the team used a variety of hardware to vape each of the flavors. For72 hours we vaped the five (5) flavors exclusively, although when you come down to it, it was just three (3) flavors. Two flavors were completely unvapeable to us.

What is Unvapeable?

Squirrel Bread Soup and T-Bone are unvapeable. What that means is that each of us loaded up our cartomizers and clearomizers, took a good sized drag, and found the taste so unnatural that we pushed the vapor out as fast as we could. And then we took another. Same thing. Unnatural. No one could take a third drag. During our discussions we agreed that we were not able to shift gears and accept the flavors in the form of vapor.

The Vapor Girl makes some of the best eJuices in the business, and we have several of them in our various collections. Just because the four (4) of us are not ready to accept a ‘cream of mushroom’ flavor in the form of a vapor, or the authentic flavor of a sizzling steak, it doesn’t mean there aren’t Vapers that will think differently, and love the new flavors. Vapers who are capable of shifting gears and appreciating them have a more accepting conception of ‘taste’ then we do.

So instead of going through the team one by one let us state that Squirrel Bread Soup tastes like you’re vaping mushroom soup, and T-Bone actually does taste like a steak. Neither one of those flavors appeals to us, but it might to you. That’s just the way it happens sometimes.

Squirrel Bread Soup – “Squirrel Bread Soup (Cream of Mushroom) Flavour Premium E Liquid from The Vapor Girl. There once was a happy little squirrel. She was a shade of brown with a big bushy tail. Walking along the forest floor she found the most wonderful mushrooms. “What could I do with these mushrooms?” she asked herself. The squirrel gathered all the mushrooms and took them home. Looking in the fridge and the pantry she discovered some day-old bread and some fresh cream. Magnificent!! She created the best soup. The happy little squirrel called all her friends and had a wonderful party, that you are invited to…” – The Vapor Girl

T-Bone – “T-Bone Flavour Premium E Liquid from The Vapor Girl was inspired by ourmaster mixologist love of grilling. A delightful steak grilled and seasoned to perfection.” – The Vapor Girl

Three Excellent eLiquids

The remaining three flavors stand toe-to-toe with the best The Vapor Girl has to offer. These were the flavors we spent our time with, and enjoyed as much as we would enjoy any other top-notch eLiquid. So, let’s get on with it…

Blackberry Lemonade – “BlackBerry Lemonade Flavour Premium E Liquid from The Vapor Girl is the taste of wild blackberries and fresh lemonade…utterly refreshing on a hot summer day!” – The Vapor Girl

Tom: Blackberry Lemonade is more ‘blackberry’ than ‘lemonade’, and that’s a good thing. Tasting just like sweet well-ripened blackberries with just a hint of lemonade, this blend produces excellent vapor and a nice, if somewhat mild throat hit. I almost expected it to be too sweet, but it wasn’t. With Blackberry fruitiness engulfing all the right taste buds, this is one you’ll enjoy time and time again. – 4.75 Stars

Julia: I had a more balanced flavor profile for this eJuice than Tom did. Where Tom tasted only hints of lemonade, I tasted a good portion of a tangy tartness of the lemonade with plenty of blackberry goodness. The sweetness of the blackberry worked off the tartness of the lemonade to present a great tasting vape with tons of vapor clouds and a solid throat hit.

Blackberries have a very distinct fruity flavor, and there is no mistaking the authentic blackberry flavor in this one. If you enjoy blackberry than this eLiquid is one you have to try. I have added it to my collection. 4.5 Stars

Keira: I’ve enjoyed a few different blackberry flavors over the past couple of years and I learned that a blackberry eLiquid can be deep and rich with a super sweet profile or a blackberry flavor can be more authentic, natural tasting, with a true blackberry profile. This is the latter, a natural blackberry vape that catches just a glimpse of the tartness of the lemonade. Many people won’t catch the lemon notes and instead think of it as just a blackberry flavor. It is a true blackberry eJuice, but the lemon ‘ade’ gives it an excellent touch.   5 Stars

Jason: I love blackberry, real blackberries. They are sweeter than blueberries and have an earthy flavor, almost a fruity musky flavor. So, whenever I vape a juice that has blackberry in it I know exactly what I am looking for. I don’t want an overly-sweeten blackberry, or one that is too tart; I want that fully ripened, semi-sweet, natural flavor. You can only get that in the more expensive flavoring extracts.

The Vapor Girl’s Blackberry Lemonade is just about perfect. The blackberry flavor reminds me of the incredible blackberry flavor from Johnson Creek, but the slightly sweet, slightly tart lemonade gives it a little something more, making it one of the best vapes I’ve had in a while. Well, for a fruit vape anyway.

TVG’s Blackberry Lemonade won me over from the very first vape. Anyone, and I mean anyone, who enjoys the flavor of blackberry will love it. Plumes of vapor, and a very nice throat hit make this the ultimate blackberry vape. This one is now officially on my roster of eLiquids. 5 Stars

Egyptian Fig Roll – “Egyptian Fig Roll Flavour Premium E Liquid from The Vapor Girl is a delicious treat will take you back in time. Sweet, rich, slightly tart, delicious juicy fig wrapped with mouth-watering dough. Vape like an Egyptian!!” – The Vapor Girl

Tom: I remember a few months ago when we mentioned that “lime” was an excellent flavor for vaping, and that not many vendors were using it, at least the ones we were reviewing anyway. Then we started to get more and more lime eJuice flavors in for review.

Now, I want to say the same thing about “Figs”. The word ‘Fig’ has a sort of connotation that makes people uncomfortable. I’m not sure why, Fig Newtons are a huge selling cookie, but maybe it’s because Figs and Prunes look too much alike. I don’t know, but I do know that The Vapor Girl’s new Egyptian Fig Roll is an outstanding treat for Vapers. The fig flavor is naturally sweet, rich, and all consuming. Get a lung full of vapor from this one and you’re getting a body full of fig heaven. Plenty of thick vapor, a wicked throat hit when vaped above 3.9v, Egyptian Fig Roll is outstanding! 5 Stars

Julia: Figs taste something like an Apple and a Pear mixed together. A ripe fig will have a twang of apple tartness and the texture and meatiness of a good sweet pear. It is a flavor that has been favored for thousands of years. The Vapor Girl has managed to bring this same flavor to us in the form of a sweet, natural fig, with just a hint of piecrust. It is a wonderful flavor for vaping and one that encourages deep drags and slow exhales. I loved it. 5 Stars

Keira: Egyptian Fig Roll does taste wonderful, and a good sweet fig is always a treat. The Vapor Girl did an excellent job with this flavor, especially with the addition of a kind of ‘dough’ notes underneath it all. So you’re not only vaporing the flavor of ripened figs, you’ve got this layer of sweet dough/crust/cake thing going on. The vapor clouds are thick and flavorful, and the throat hit was bigger than I expected. For Vapers looking to add a new kind of sweet, fruity vape with an earthy touch, this could very well be the eJuice you’re looking for. Jules and I vaped this at the same time and we both couldn’t shut up about it. You may feel the same way. Try it for something ‘special’, then do what we did, add it to your rotation of flavors. – 5 Stars

Jason: I understand all the commotion about Egyptian Fig Roll, but the thing is, for me, fig has a flavor that might be too different. Still, I enjoyed this flavor, but I’m not so sure I would have had it not had the extra element of piecrust, or whatever you want to call it. It’s not exactly piecrust, its not cake, its something else, sweet, smooth, deep, whatever, giving the fig flavor something to blend into. I’m not sure I would eat figs other than Fig Newtons, but I would vape Egyptian Fig Roll anytime. Vapor is there in abundance, a very good throat hit when you take big drags, and it is rich enough to satisfy. I’m not sure I would add it to my rotation or my collection, but if I were at a friends house and it was offered, I certainly wouldn’t turn away from it. 4.25 Stars

Caramel Corn Crunch – “Caramel Corn Crunch Flavour Premium E Liquid from The Vapor Girl is smooth rich caramel, salty buttery popcorn, and a handful of nuts. Take me out to the ball game…this one is an oldie but a goody.” – The Vapor Girl

Tom: This juice had me confused for hours. I knew from the label that it was a caramel popcorn, but there was something else working with it, and I didn’t know what it was. I remarked that it was a good, sweet caramel popcorn, but very different from the only other caramel popcorn I had vaped before. For one thing, it was salty.

When I spoke to Jules over Skype I asked her about it. Did she too think it was a different kind of caramel popcorn? She looked right through the computer screen and said, “Did you bother to read the description?” – NUTS! As soon as I read the word I knew that was it. Doh! Now it made sense! Of course! So, Caramel Corn Crunch is a very original take on caramel popcorn, and it’s a good one. 4 Stars

Julia: The Vapor Girl is constantly trying to create new flavors, and also trying “variations on a theme”, by taking something like caramel popcorn which several vendors offer, and mixing in the flavoring of salty nuts to give it a broader flavor profile.

It doesn’t work all the time, this experimentation, and I bet TVG has more experimental flavors that never got off the ground, but with Caramel Corn Crunch TVG managed to do something original, and tasty. You definitely get that caramel popcorn flavor, but that added salty nut flavoring gives it a grounded, non-sweet layer that combines into something new, and better. Plenty of vapor, a better than average throat hit, Caramel Corn Crunch is pretty damn good. 4.5 Stars

Keira: Maybe I took the name of this eJuice a little too literally. I saw the name Caramel Corn Crunch and the first few hours of vaping it I tasted real “corn”, not popcorn. Remembering how TVG likes to be experimental I thought maybe it was a real corn extract that was mixed with caramel. Honestly, I really did. But I kept vaping it, while one part of me was really enjoying the ‘different’ flavor, and the other part thinking ‘but it’s corn! You can’t vape corn!”… Then after talking it over with Jules I learned that it was the nut extract that was causing my taste buds to go haywire. “Inner conflict”, Jules said, some eLiquids can cause inner conflict with what you think you should taste and what you really do taste. “It happens, roll with it. “ Thank you Julia, I never would have known. Did my brain and my taste buds work it out? Nope. This will always be “Caramel Corn”, but its okay because it’s not bad…not bad at all. 4.25 Stars

Conclusion

Sometimes the Spinfuel eLiquid Review Team like to think that we really understand flavor and that we can push ourselves as hard as any eJuice vendor can. When it comes to The Vapor Girl though, we are always shown that maybe we are more ‘traditional’ Vapers than we like to think we are. Oh, we can take apart a multi-layered eLiquid and break it down into its various components, and we can usually understand every flavor that comes here for review. We felt terrible that none of us could get behind two flavors that The Vapor Girl are so very proud of. It is disheartening to think that our taste buds aren’t as sophisticated as they should be. Tobacco, pastry goods, deserts, alcoholic drinks, candy, and all kinds of fruits, are flavors we know and flavors we enjoy. But when it comes to something like ‘cream of mushroom’ and ‘beef’, we just aren’t there yet.

Where The Vapor Girl truly shined in this review is with the traditional flavors, blackberry and fig, two fruits that are seldom used, but which have delicious flavor characteristics. Blackberry Lemonade is a terrific combination and together offers a wonderful vape experience. Figs, the dominant flavor in Egyptian Fig Roll, is rarely used in today’s eLiquids but, as you can see above, figs are a wonderful flavor that can be converted to vapor form and still be every bit as delicious. Both of these flavors are wonderful.

We were divided on the Caramel Corn Crunch, and given the nature of buttered, salted, popcorn with nuts thrown in its normal to be divided in this way. There are flavors with mass appeal, and flavors that are more limited in appeal. Popcorn, with or without nuts, is not as widely accepted as blackberry or fig. Some people love the taste of popcorn, in vapor form, and others hate it. By adding nuts, and a bit of salt, TVG expands the reach of their customer, but it remains outside the norm.

After all this time and the many reviews The Vapor Girl eLiquids have gone through, here in Spinfuel and throughout the vape community, there is no doubt that they know how to make great eJuice, and when they create eJuice flavors with limited appeal it only proves their talents and ambitions.

Buying Advice

The two best flavors, Blackberry Lemonade and Egyptian Fig Roll are must buy flavors. We think you’ll love them both, and if you haven’t found a fig flavor that you’ve liked, or if you’ve never tried a fig flavored eJuice, then by all means try this one. Whatever you wind up doing, come back and let us know. Did you try Squirrel Bread Soup, or T-Bone? Give us your feedback on these flavors, and share it with our readers. I know we would love to hear from some of you that have tried any of TVG’s flavors, and especially interested in hearing from anyone who has tried the Squirrel Bread or T-Bone.

A Sample of the unique vape gear found at The Vapor Girl

Boge LEO Sports Kit – The BOGE LEO Pass Thru is both handsome and practical.
The battery and cap are designed with a wood pattern and has a glossy finish. It very much resembles real wood, and has a luxurious feel to it.
The end piece to the battery is a compass. When it is removed, it reveals the plug in area for the USB cord so it may be used as a Pass Thru.
The Battery is an 800 mAh battery, altho it seems to last much longer than one would expect, when you are not using it as a pass thru. (Unit can be used plugged in, or not.)
Comes with a golden atomizer, very substantial and extremely long lasting . This is to be used with the cartridges which hold the e-liquid. The mouthpiece is inserted into the cartridge.
When you attach the cap to the battery, it fully enclosed the atty and mouthpiece area, protecting it from the elements.
The cap has a very high quality lanyard attached. The lanyard has a small metal piece that attaches it, that reads “LEO” and has an abstracted design of a Lion. The material the lanyard is made from is soft and silky, yet substantial, so it feels very nice against your neck. It is printed with the logo for the LEO.
This kit is altogether one of the most luxurious, high quality items I have ever had the pleasure to use.
The one thing you need to know is that the atomizer works well when you first begin to use it. But after several days usage, all of a suddenly the atomizer starts performing really really well. I guess it needs breaking in? Just an extraordinary fantastic item. Highly suggested item!
Proprietary threading on the items. Thus we carry all the items you would need to replace- the atomizers and the cartridges.
