YIHI SXMINI T CLASS SX580J 200W MOD Preview

After so many years of reviewing vape gear it is difficult to impress me. My tastes run the gamut, and there have been devices I’ve taken to, and some I haven’t, that others have strongly disagreed with. But after using a few hundred devices since 2011, I no longer grow strong attachments to a piece of gear. That said, the new YiHi SXMINI T Class Captain Box Mod has not only captured my imagination, but it has impressed me in many, many ways.

Today marks the 4^thday of using my T Class Captain Mod, the Silver/Blue/Red one. Certainly, I’ve not spent enough time to render a decision, or to issue a grade, but for this preview I admit I’m very impressed. (This Mod will have 2 full reviews in the coming weeks, one from me, and one from our resident RDA and TC expert.) It’s a little on the hefty side and has some kind of fidget ring around the 510-connnector, but for the most part, I’m having a ball with it.

Since this is a Preview, not a review, these past days I’ve been vaping with a single Sub-Ohm Tank; the SMOK Resa Prince (Red) with the V12-Prince-X6 Coil, and the color combination of the SXMINI complements the red Resa.

The YiHi SXmini T Class has been out on vendor shelves for a couple of weeks, and I’ve already heard from some Spinfuel readers that the Silver/Blue/Red edition is butt-ugly, but to my taste, it’s only one of two that I would consider owning. (the other is the Silver/Gold). Like I said, I’ve been doing this a long time, and a new Mod or Tank has to have a certain aesthetic to grab my attention, and these two-color combos do just that.

When I opened the always elegant, always classic packaging (only bested in packaging by Lost Vape), I thought I was looking at the first 2X700 SX box mod. It’s size, 98mm by 49mm by 33.5mm, is certainly big enough to indicate 2X700 cells, but I was actually happy to see that it was a dual-18650 mod. (I’m not yet a big believer in the 2X700 platform)

Anyway, I inserted a pair of 3100mAh 35A Nitecore cells and fired it up. Now, because the first hour or so I do not look at manuals (I try to get a taste for how easy it will be for users to get up and running with it), I had a terrible time trying to figure out what the spinning gear spoke was where the tank would be connected. I tried to spin it off the mod, I tried tightening it, and I even tried pulling it off. When nothing made a difference, it just spun and spun, I unwrapped the deluxe manual and learned that it was simply a gizmo. Some fidget spinner thing that the user can spin to relax. Yea, my thoughts too.

Now that I had the manual out I read through it, and learned it had Bluetooth and an iOS and Android app. So, I downloaded the iOS app and with the ease of an Apple Bluetooth device, I connected them. Once inside the app I discovered I could upgrade the firmware and set up several profiles for different tanks or RDA’s I wished to use. Of course, even without the app a user can go into the menu on the full color display and do the same thing.

The remarkable craftsmanship of every SXmini mod I’ve had is here in the T Class. The incredible attention to detail, the precision engineering of the SX mini T Class is remarkable. It is constructed using 78 components to create a formidable Vape Mod. The last time I see such craftsmanship with when I was using the SXmini G Class Mod. (much smaller, but with such incredible details) Pick up the SX550J G Class at Element Vape. The G Class Mod sports Bluetooth support as well, and is meticulously engineered as well.

The extreme design includes an intuitive joystick for adjustments and another spinner fidget thing around the joystick adjuster. The SX580J Chipset offers an output range of 5 to 200W and a suite of functionality found only in the most advanced SX chipset, like full temperature control support, Bluetooth, and a superb processor for very accurate and customizable settings.

The SXmini T Class includes the SXi-Q Intelligent Taste Curve Technologythat features an algorithmic calculation that allows users to set, fine tune, and save 5-memory output curves. The YiHi SX580J chipset is the core of the device, and it’s what makes it possible for the user to set and adjust the SXmini T Class from smartphones like the iPhone and Galaxy 8 & 9. The Bluetooth pairs so quickly it’s as though it appears to always be connected to your phone.

Give me a few days to use different tanks on it and try out some of the cool new features and I’ll be back with my final report. Putting aside the heavy and unnecessary spinners, the SXmini T Class just might wind up being an A+ Mod. It’s definitely on the expensive side, but if you’re looking for a Mod that does so much, and is built to last decades, this 200W workhorse just might be worth the investment.
