The SMOK TFV8 X-Baby Sub-Ohm Tank is being as heavily marketed as SMOK’s amazing TFV12 Cloud Beast King, and I can’t help wondering if all this promotional expense is truly worth it. I’ve not vaped with it yet, that will happen later this week, but as far as I can see, the only difference between the X-Baby and the Baby Beast is the new Top Airflow. In addition, the inclusion of the SMOK M Series coil head concerns me. The M Series was made for Direct Voltage devices, not exactly cloud machines. I’ll withhold any opinion now, but I will be spending a great deal of time with a couple of the X-Baby tanks in order to see if this new tank is all gimmick or if SMOK has improved their awesome Sub-Ohm tank line.
The SMOK TFV8 X-Baby Sub-Ohm Tank is the first of the TFV-family to adopt top airflow. The TFV8 X-Baby Sub-Ohm Tank does retain the same functionality as the TFV8 Baby Beast tank, and the TFV8 Big Baby, and is able to hold 4ml of E-Liquid. Additionally, the X-Baby keeps the hinge and lock top fill system of the other TFV8 and TFV12 tanks.
Our current understanding says that the TFV8 X-Baby Sub-Ohm Tank will include two X-Baby Coil Family Coil Heads; the X-Baby M2 Coil Head with wattage ranges of 30 to 50W and an X-Baby Q2 Coil Head. With a range of 40 to 80W. Please Note: TFV8 Baby Coils are NOT Compatible with the TFV8 X-Baby Sub-Ohm Tank. This is most unfortunate
SMOK TFV8 X-Baby Sub-Ohm Top Airflow
The top Airflow enters the TFV8 X-Baby Tank by way of a dual adjustable top airflow system, with each air slot measuring 16mm by 2mm, and the Delrin drip tip (8.5mm) allows is supposed to provide a hefty vapor intake.
The X-Baby TFV8 Sub-Ohm Tank is being called the Baby Beast Brother, however, the Baby Beast holds 3mL of vape juice while the Big Baby holds 5mL. The 4mL capacity of the X-Baby makes this tank a “middle brother” between the two “Baby” tanks. If the top airflow brings a new level of vaping for the TFV8 line you can be sure that top airflow will make it into larger TFV8 and TFV12 tanks soon enough.
Right out the gate SMOK is releasing the TFV8 X-Baby is multiple colors. Because of this, I have the feeling that the engineers behind the new airflow design are confident in the tanks success. Give us a week or so and we’ll let you know if the TFV8 X-Baby is worth the $29.95 price tag (Element Vape).
