I was handed a box that contained the new SMOK PRIV One All-In-One Vape Kit, and I was asked to review it. Easy enough, right? So, I opened it, marveled at the tininess of the thing, swung back the hinge top-fill that every SMOK Tank utilizes, filled it, closed it… then attached the USB cable to charge it up before using. This way, the eliquid would saturate fully while the small 920mAh battery would be topped off. Afterwards, I tried to take a nice long direct lung hit… and nothing. Turns out, the PRIV One comes with two Top-Down (groan) coil heads, neither of which are preinstalled.

So, after attaching one of the Top-Down coils and waiting another hour or so, I began using it that night. Actually, I took it bed with me. Since its so tiny, I figured it wouldn’t bother the wife, and it wouldn’t take much effort on my part to use it. I was right on both counts, kind of. Problem is, when I turned in for the night, about an hour later, I put it on my nightstand, and couldn’t find it again for 3 days…

Sometime during the night, I must have knocked the PRIV One off my nightstand while flipping a pillow (always trying to find the cool side), but since it’s nearly weightless, I didn’t hear it fall. Next morning, I went to grab it, couldn’t find it, and then began looking under the bed, under the nightstand, all over the room. It was not to be found…

Three days later I tell my twice-a-week housekeeper about it and if she found it to let me know. Luckily, she did, the SMOK PRIV One somehow fell under the nightstand, and landed directly behind one of the nightstand legs, clear out of view while bending over and looking under the nightstand.

Moral of the above? The SMOK PRIV One is about the tiniest mod I’ve ever seen. It makes the Eleaf Pico seem like a monster-mod.

Word of advice; the SMOK PRIV One comes with a thick lanyard. Use it. If you don’t, you’ll more than likely lose yours too. After my housekeeper found it I snapped in the USB cable again, and attached the lanyard.

The SMOK PRIV One is a 60W All-In-One (AIO) Kit from a manufacturer that usually produces much more powerful devices and tanks. There is no display screen, no adjustment buttons… just a tiny window to check the eliquid level and a firing panel. Make no mistake, as small as it is, it is definitely a SMOK device.

Measuring 74.2mm by 44.4mm by 24.4mm, the PRIV One attempts to balance performance with a tiny size, not to mention leak-proof. It is a visually appealing mod to some degree, but the shapes or patterns that SMOK calls “flowers” is more like paisley or even stained-glass windows.

The PRIV One is a direct voltage system, one that correlates the battery life to determine the power range with a maximum wattage at 60W when the tank’s coil resistance is 0.15ohm.

It is features the usual number of safety protections such as Impedance Protection, 8 seconds cut-off, low battery warning, and short-circuit protection.

As I said above, the atomizer core, the coils, are top-loaded (top-down), and SMOK tells us this is to prevent leakage while providing easy installation and removal. That may be the case, but as I’ve witnessed in many other top-down coils systems by Joyetech and Eleaf, the top-down system causes a lot of spit-back and pops. Personally, I can’t stand this type of coil.

The kit comes with two 0.6ohm Stick AIO Dual Coils that produce an average amount of flavor and vapor. Certainly nothing to brag about.

The SMOK PRIV One is certainly optimized for the entry-level users looking for a stealthy or travel size vape kit, but to be fair, there are far better vape kits on the market than this one.
