I am far from a WISMEC Fanboi. To me, for the past year or so, WISMEC has produced more “fails” than “hits”. Some, like the Reuleaux RX75 and EXO Skeleton, were disasters, while others were simply mundane and not worth a second look. Then there are the others, both mods and tanks, where WISMEC has hit it out of the park. WISMEC has put out a lot of products since its launch, and for the most part, we’ve reviewed them all.  Having said this; I have to admit that the newest Reuleaux, the gorgeous and powerful Reuleaux RX Gen3, is right up there in my Top 5 Mods of 2017.

I’m not saying that my Top 5 Mods of 2017 are the best, and I am not trying to sell you on them. I can only say that with the kind of access I have to just about every box mod ever made, these 5 mods are the ones I am always keeping at my side. For what it’s worth, they are;

WISMEC Reuleaux RX Gen3

The above Top 5 can, and probably will, change. But right now, these are my favorites.

WISMEC’s newest Reuleaux vape mod, the Reuleaux RX GEN3, retains the same 300W of the earlier Reuleaux RX300 model, yet manages to be the smallest 3x 18650 Reuleaux to date. It’s hard to believe that just a few months ago WISMEC unleashed a QUAD 18650 Reuleaux yielding the same 300W. But it was monstrous, freakish even, and I could not understand why anyone would want to carry around a block so huge. But, even this monster has its fans.

The power, performance, style, and aesthetics of this new, smaller Reuleaux, the RX Gen3 puts the quad model to shame. This Reuleaux RX Gen3 is  definitely the best Reuleaux to be launched by WISMEC, and according to Vapor Authority, its popularity continues to grow.

Using three 18650 batteries to achieve a maximum output of 300 watts, this very comfortable box mod also utilizes a crystal clear 1.3-inch OLED screen with a new, easier to understand, interface. As you can see from the photos, this display is quite different from what was seen on WISMEC’s earlier versions. Entering into Menu Mode is a breeze (3 quick clicks of the fire button), moving from one mode to the next is visibly simpler to see on the screen. (using the plus/minus adjustment buttons).

The new Reuleaux RX Gen3 is available in Red, Black, Grey, Brown and a very ugly Green. Each mod except for the black, has a two-tone finish, meaning the back end of the body has a black grip-like portion. In earlier models this part of the body usually worked as a removable battery door, only here the battery compartment is accessed from the bottom of the mod, with a strong magnetic, pull-push door. Each of the 3 battery bays are clearing marked for negative/positive insertion.

Note* Going back all the way to first WISMEC Reuleaux of late 2015, every model except for the RX Mini, utilized 3x 18650 cells. During its initial marketing push, the 3x cells allowed for just 200W of maximum wattage, which was a huge deal then. New chipsets improved power management in a big way. While 3x cells once pushed 200W, then 4x cells pushed 300W, today’s Reuleaux RX Gen3 combines the 3x cells and 300W. While we can’t forget the Reuleaux RX 2/3, it too needed 3x cells to push just 200W.

I do not use the Temperature Control systems in the mods I use for personal use, I am strictly an adjustable wattage guy, along with Kanthal and/or Ceramic heating elements in my sub-ohm tanks. However, because I do want to cover every aspect of this mod, I can say that the advanced Reuleaux RX Gen3 chipset is capable of accurate temperature control, sensing, and limiting. When used with a coil with nickel, titanium, or stainless-steel wire as the heating element, the Reuleaux RX Gen3 gives users the ability to customize the temperature to exact specifications. Users can regulate the temperature of the vapor with ease, allowing for warmer or cooler clouds. In addition, the capacity to fine-tune the coil’s temperature virtually eliminates any chance of dry or burnt hits. The only downside for me is the heating wires just don’t produce the same level of flavor that Kanthal or Ceramic heating elements can. Some Stainless-Steel coils are getting very close, but I still prefer to use adjustable wattage.

The WISMEC Reuleaux RX GEN3 TC Box Mod is the third generation Reuleaux box mod from WISMEC’s flagship series, integrating a triple 18650 battery powered chipset capable of a whopping output of 300W in a smaller, more sophisticated chassis for a completely new all-day-every-day mod. The Reuleaux RX Gen3 is firmware upgradeable and features a welcome pre-heat function.

The mod can accommodate tanks and RDA/RTA’s of 25mm in diameter. Tanks fit flush atop the Reuleaux RX GEN3, and every tank I’ve used on my mod worked just fine.

Why just 25mm? If the Reuleaux RX Gen3 had been designed with a center 510-connector than just about any size tank or RDA would have had plenty of room. However, the 510-connector is pushed forward toward the display side, with just enough space for a 25mm atomizer. I’m no engineer, so I don’t even know if a center connector (like the Vaporesso Revenger) is even possible, but it is worth mentioning.

After using my Reuleaux RX Gen3 I found that even after 8 weeks the battery door stays on snug, there is no lag time when I fire it, and no button or battery rattle at all. The OLED Display remains crystal clear, without a hint of condensation inside and behind the glass.  Best of all, this is a 3x cell 300W mod that is small enough for everyday use, it doesn’t draw unnecessary attention because of the size, and just about any Sub-Ohm tank or RDA/RTA looks great on it.  I particularly like that incredible Vaping AMP Tanker with the Gen3.

While there is a Starter Kit addition of the Reuleaux RX Gen3, I recommend picking up the mod by itself. The tanks I found to look best on this great mod include all the SMOK TFV8 and TFV12 Sub-Ohms, and the 6.5mL MELO 300, and once again, the fantastic Vaping AMP Tanker. With more than enough wattage to drive any tank or RDA/RTA, this is the 3x cell box mod I suggest Vapers pick up for heavy duty cloud busting.
