Two Vaporizes For Early Vapers from Atom Vapes
It is easy to forget that not every vaper in the community is using the latest box mods, APV’s or even mechanical mods and a subohm tank or RDA. For many vapers a small, inexpensive vaporizer is all they want or need. After all, people that spend a lot of money on their vape gear are in it for the hobby, so it makes sense to continue buying new gear and trying new things, it’s all part of the hobby enthusiasm. But most people that vape do so in order to kick the habit of smoking tobacco. As long as the device they use can help them do that, well, they’re fine with it.
Reviewing a device made for vapers that are not in it for the hobby, who isn’t impressed with all the specs, and who couldn’t care less about the next great subohm tank, is not as easy as it once was for me. I know more now, I use advanced gear now, and I do enjoy the hobby of vaping. How do you square that while you review a product that isn’t made for you?
When we signed Atom Vapes, a vendor out of China, we did so because the gear they offered was both unique aesthetically, and very affordable. While browsing their website before we signed them I decided that a review of a couple of their products was in order. Once I received them I began to seriously question how I could do a good job and give these products a just review. They were attractive, and the packaging is as deluxe as you can get, but looking at the specs for each of them I wasn’t sure that I was the right guy to do this review. But I stuck with it and I hoped that I could be as unbiased as possible. In the end, I think I was, if not unbiased, then at least understanding.
To put it as bluntly as I can, both the Viper SubxerΩ & Blaze Subxero from Atom Vapes are products I would not use. Period. They work wonderfully well for what they are spec’d to do, but I’ve long since left devices like these behind going on two years now. Please keep that in mind while I talk about both devices. They may not be my choice, but for a whole lot of people either one of these could be a real lifesaver.
Blaze Subxero
The Blaze Subxero is just $37.99, and what you get for that $37.99 is the following:
- 1x Blaze Sub Ohm 900mAh Pass-Through Battery
- 1x Inferno Sub Ohm Tank
- 1x Ignite 0.5Ω Coil
- 1x Ignite 1.2Ω Coil
- 1x Micro USB Charger
- 1x Microfiber Liquid Cloth
- 3x Vinyl Waterproof Blaze Skinz
- 2x User Manuals
Think about the specs for a minute… a 900mAh battery with a high enough wattage/amperage to fire a subohm tank. A battery with a pass-through ability so charging and vaping is handled easily. You also get a charger, and 3 SkinZ that allow you to customize the look of the battery. Not that the battery needs it, it’s a damn good-looking battery without a SkinZ.
The tank comes with a 0.5-ohm and a 1.2-ohm coil head that look, and work, like many of the tanks we’ve reviewed that sell for $30 by itself. A pack of 4 coils will cost you $12.99, about the same price as any other subohm coil. Yet, the “tank” is shaped more like an ordinary clearomizer, and the coils are made to provide a nice heavy “mouth to lung” experience, not lung hits.
Performance
I certainly didn’t expect much flavor or vapor from either unit in this review, but as it turned out the vape was much more than I could have hoped for. The flavor was true and the vapor was plentiful for a mouth-to-lung vaper.
The negative of this device and the one I’ll review below is the battery capacity. 900mAh isn’t bad for a Spinner-like battery, but when you put a subohm coil on it the battery is going to drain fairly quickly. I was able to get about 3 hours of vaping before I had to recharge it. 900mAh just doesn’t cut for me, a vaper that will go through 4 or 5 2600mAh 18650 batteries a day. But for vapers that are vaping in order to stop smoking the combination is excellent. This kit delivers strong flavor, plenty of vapor, and with moderate vaping, decent battery life.
I would recommend the Blaze Subxero to any new vaper wanting to get a lot more than what a cig-a-like can deliver, but who doesn’t want to spend a lot of money to get it. On a scale of 1-5, 5 meaning a fantastic product and 1 being a product I wouldn’t even give away, I rate the Blaze Subxero a solid 4. With a 1300mAh and a rounded drip tip I would have given it the full 5.

Viper SubxerΩ
The next product I spent a few days with is Atom Vapes Viper SubxerΩ, a starter kit for $52.99. More expensive, but also more powerful.
Here’s what the $52.99 gets you:
- 1x Viper Sub Ohm 1100mAh Pass-Through Battery
- 1x Venom Sub Ohm Nano Tank
- 1x Stainless Steel Wide Bore Drip Tip
- 1x SnakeBite 5Ω Coil
- 1x SnakeBite 2Ω Coil
- 1x Pyrex Glass Casing
- 1x Micro USB Charger
- 1x Beauty Ring
- 1x Microfiber Cleaning Cloth
- 3x Vinyl Waterproof Snake SkinZ
- 2x User Manual
The Viper SubxerΩ is a much more serious vaporizer, larger footprint, more milliamp hours, a larger capacity glass tank, wide drip tip, and all the rest. Now a kit like this is something I would have loved to have a couple of years ago, before I was exposed to the ProVari’s and other advanced products.
The Viper SubxerΩ puts out plenty of power, 46 watts actually, and it push’s a lot of flavor and vapor out of the tank. Again, I would have liked to see a higher capacity, especially with it pushing 46 watts, but the vaper this was designed for will not complain. The kit can fire down it 0.3-ohms, and the tank and battery are both 304 Stainless Steel, the tank has an airflow controller and eliquid controller as well. With overcharge and over discharge protection, this is an advanced vaporizer made to appear user friendly to even the newest vaper.
Performance
With higher wattage the Viper performs about 35% better than the Blaze. Plenty of flavor with both devices but the Viper does output a thicker vapor, and more of it. I could easily see Blaze owners moving up to the Viper if they decide they want more than the Blaze can deliver. I actually enjoyed using the Viper for a couple of days, though ultimately I missed my box mods and larger subohm tanks.

Using the same scoring system as above I would also give this kit 4-stars. More milliamps would have bought it up to the 5 stars.
Conclusion
If you’re happy with your high-powered vape gear that costs 4 times more, at least, than either of these two starter kits then you shouldn’t even have read this review. These two high quality, low cost kits are great devices for people looking for an electronic cigarette that will provide flavor and vapor without having to spend a lot to do it.
What I really like about both kits is the aesthetics and the coil heads used in each of the tanks. These are kits designed to satisfy a vaper that vapes to rid themselves of smoking. That’s not me, but there are millions of potential customers out there that would love either one.
Visit Atom Vapes today and get a discount of 10% right away. Also, stay tuned because we’re giving away one of the Viper kits in the next few days. Details will come soon.
