When we do reviews at Spinfuel VAPE, my editor and I always go back and forth about value. While it’s easy for us to get jaded as reviewers, ultimately, all the vape devices we cover need to deliver value to buyers. On that level, the Rincoe Manto Mini 90W RDA kit offers a TON of it.

Rincoe Manto Mini 90W RDA Kit Review
“ELEMENT

This ridiculously low-priced dripper kit is a phenomenal entry point for advanced vaping newcomers, or those who want a potent little RDA kit without breaking the bank. The Manto Mini isn’t a top-flight device. Hell, it’s not even regulated. But this protected, semi-mechanical kit presents a nice backup option to anyone seeking some straightforward vaping, without any fuss.

Right out of the box, you’ll be blown away by how light and nimble the diminutive Manto Mini is. Measuring a mere 80mm in height (without the included Metis RDA attached), the polycarbonate mod is feather-light, but surprisingly stiff and durable, even when dropped. I don’t recommend doing this repeatedly, but know you have a few “hiccups” in tow if you’re clumsy.

We’ve reviewed several polycarbonate framed mods over the last few years, and we always remark about the texture and hand-feel. The rubberized coating is velvety soft, regardless of finish, and actually gives off a resin-like appearance. The Manto Mini’s design options aren’t too broad, but there’s likely to be one that matches your personal preferences.

One thing that didn’t make a lot of sense was the width of the mod. At 25mm at its widest, the Manto Mini can technically handle up to 25mm RDAs, but in reality, there’s still a bit of overhang with those atomizers. I recommend using smaller RDAs exclusively, to ensure this lightweight device doesn’t tip from being top-heavy.

That said, the 510 connection has a nice, solid feel. It’s press-fit, but didn’t wiggle or show any signs of weakness, even under some pressure. I wish Rincoe had centered the spring-loaded connection, but all in all, this was a highlight on a pretty streamlined device.

Equally nice was the rest of the build quality. Because this is a mechanical mod, there aren’t any adjustment buttons, but the thick plastic fire button is done well, as is the ridiculously strong magnetic battery door. I especially liked the massive venting ports on either side, ensuring the compartment never becomes too hot under heavy use. Many people will complain it exposes too much of the battery cells, but I’d much rather have venting than beauty.

Some would say having the batteries THIS exposed is actually a potential danger, from coins, loose keys, or other items that might negatively affect the cells. But I’d argue that ANY vape mod is a potential danger if you keep it pocketed with these items. For safety’s sake keep your mods and batteries away from anythingmetal or pointy, and you’ll be fine.

The Metis RDA

The included 24mm Metis RDA is about as basic as a dripper gets in 2019. But since when is proven design a bad thing? Using a classic dual-post setup (that hasn’t really been improved on, to be honest) users can easily position dual-coil builds without any worry.

Likewise, the dual airflow slots aren’t going to make any waves with RDA enthusiasts, but that’s not the target audience here. There’s a very good chance the Metis will be the first RDA owned by many of the Manto Mini’s buyers. So, simple is better in this regard, even if performance fans will probably be a little underwhelmed by the rudimentary setup.

Performance-wise, the Metis is solid, if unspectacular. The flavor and vapor production are on par with some similarly styled, entry-level drippers. If anything, those who start with the Metis will likely seek out better options soon after getting started, so at least there’s that.

If you own other RDAs, by all means use them. But the Metis presents a decent, no-frills backup in case you’re ever in a pinch.

Observations While Vaping

The single-18650 Manto Mini is capable of 90-watt output, but as a single-cell device, that level of power would be rare. Though we didn’t measure it, I’d compare the steadiest output to be around 50-60 watts. Of course, that’s just a (very) unofficial estimate based on experience, not data. Just know that the odds of seeing much top-power performance aren’t good.

That said, if you do plan on building ultra-low resistance coils, have a FEW extra batteries on hand. That’s because the Manto Mini’s battery life is on par with most mech mods – that’s to say, not really good at all. Of course, no experienced vaper expects a ton of battery longevity from a mech… especially a single 18650 offering. But I never got more than a few hours of steady vaping from a fully charged cell.

There ARE protections in place, to prevent the Manto Mini from short circuiting, overheating, etc. This is comforting to a point. But newcomers will need to be well-versed in building, coil resistance, ohm’s law, battery polarity and other details before firing the device, to be sure they don’t put themselves in harm’s way.

As always, I struggle with these “entry-level” mech devices. While I’m glad these protections are here (and a clear, working LED indicator along with them), newcomers are the exact people that need MORE information, not less. A simple screen for warnings and potential problems would go a long way toward satisfying this problem.

On the positive end of things, straight power draw from the battery means the Manto Mini hits like a runaway train when a fully charged cell is installed. Maybe this level of power doesn’t happen for too long, but it’s a hell of a draw while it lasts.

Also, it’s incredibly easy to use. The comfortable grip, compact size, and one button operation makes for a truly simplified experience. And if you’re okay with the “less is more” approach, I can’t imagine finding much fault with this performance, especially on a $25 starter kit.

SPINFUEL VAPE REVIEW SCORE

Bottom Line

I liked the Rincoe Manto Mini. My ongoing issues with “newcomer” devices aside, this kit did a hell of lot more right than wrong. Sure, the bare-bones RDA, iffy battery life and narrow width might limit the appeal to some buyers. But if you’ve never had a semi-mechanical mod in your collection, or are looking for a simple, inexpensive way to get into a basic RDA kit, this is as good a launch point as any.
