Think Vape Exus Ark 200W TC Box Mod Preview – It doesn’t seem like it was that long ago that a 20-watt box mod cost an adventurous vaper several hundred dollars. But, as technology improves and innovations are made, the costs of these items drops in record time.

Take, for example, the Think Vape Exus Ark 200-watt box mod – a device that would have pushed four digits back in the salad days of vaping. But today, the Exus Ark is the latest in a seemingly endless line of high-performance, low-cost devices appearing on store shelves.

Though we only just got it in, the Exus Ark appears to be an extremely attractive option for high-powered vapers in search of top-tier power and a reliable, forward-thinking chipset, without having to  take a second home mortgage to afford one.

The terms “sleek” and “ergonomic” find their way into countless vape mod reviews, but the Exus Ark might be the epitome of both terms. With sweeping curves and a large, raised and angled fire button, the dual-18650 Exus Ark will stand out in your collection while fitting comfortably in the hand, with effortless operation being the name of the game.

The solid zinc alloy frame gives the Exus Ark substantial heft, while the carbon and leather inlays (depending on which one you choose) add a sense of maturity and sophistication to the device. And the 0.91-inch OLED screen does a good job providing all the key data modern vapers want – including battery life, wattage/temperature and coil resistance while remaining subtle, so as to not overshadow the bold design elements.

Perhaps most notable is the ST 200 chipset, which is MORE than reminiscent of high-end DNA boards, and promises users a fully fleshed suite of wattage and TC options, true 200-watt capability, a wide range of protective features, and the trademark reliability and error-free performance for which those elite DNA chipsets are known.

One interesting omission – at least upon first glance – is that there is no mention of bypass, TCR or custom curve control on the Exus Ark, which gives us pause, considering how highly touted this device has become. DNA comparisons aside, these features are fairly common on most modern devices, and their absence here is somewhat glaring.

Though it’s too early to make a judgment on the board, all signs are pointing to the Exus Ark’s ST 200 being on par with similar devices, both in appearance and performance. Though it doesn’t seem to have EVERY feature today’s manufacturers are cramming into their devices, I would always prefer a device that does its job, rather than one that suffers under the weight of overly ambitious design.

As we’ve seen with similar advanced chipsets from mods in this category, the gap between affordable and high-end devices is narrowing by the day, and we’re excited to see how well the Exus Ark compares to devices costing significantly more.
