SMOK Brit Mini Flavor Tank

At first glance I thought the SMOK Brit Mini Flavor Tank ($24.95 at Element Vape) would excel as a Mouth-To-Lung atomizer. But taking long Direct-Lung pulls, despite the extremely restricted draw, is my preferred way to vape it. Don’t get me wrong, I can get some flavorful MTL pulls from it with the airflow turned down almost all the way but the amount of vapor produced with the airflow completely open at such a low wattage is what impressed me the most. The Brit Mini Sub-Ohm Tank debuted with the SMOK Brit One Mini Starter Kit (I reviewed the Mega Starter Kit with the 25mm version, the Brit Mega Cloud Tank). While my experience with the Brit Mega Cloud Tank was plagued by massive gurgling and spitting, the Brit Mini delivered where the Brit Mega failed.

The SMOK Brit Mini Flavor Tank is a 22mm Sub-Ohm Tank that not only looks awesome on any device I attach it to but is quite the flavor machine. I’ve been using it religiously on the SMOK H-Priv Mini and I can tell you this is a fantastic combination. The Brit Mini is made of Stainless Steel and constructed as solid as any SMOK product these days. Personally, anything smaller than a 24mm seems tiny but paired with the right sized mod, the Brit Mini is a great fit. Because of the low wattage required to get the coil heads going, this tank is ideal with a compact more portable 40-50W mod. It breaks down into four pieces (the base, glass, top cap and drip tip) which makes cleaning an easy task.

The SMOK Brit Mini Flavor Tank utilizes a top-fill system by unscrewing the top cap and filling between the glass and coil structure. All my big eJuice droppers fit the crevice no problem and filling when outdoors is never a messy endeavor. I prefer the swing-open hinge-style access seen on the Taste Flavor Sub-Ohm Tanks (the SMOK TFV4, TFV8 Cloud Beast) versus taking the top cap completely off but it works as expected. The reservoir holds up to 2ml of your favorite eJuice but seems to diminish very quickly even at lower wattages. I find myself filling the tank a lot more than I anticipated at only the 25-30W range. The Pyrex glass is held snugly in place by a thick Orange O-ring on the bottom base and a gasket underneath the top cap; no sweating or leaking anywhere in sight.

The Brit Mini runs a top adjustable airflow system with two 7.8mm x 1.6mm slots directly under the drip tip. The airflow control ring can be adjusted with very little effort and stays in place; there are no stoppers so the ring spins 360 degrees. Air travels in from the slots, flows down around the outside of the coil structure and comes back up through the center of the coil. This system provides excellent flavor and with such efficient airflow keeps the glass and tank around room temperature when vaping. The SMOK Brit Mega Cloud Tank gave me a ton of issues with gurgling and spit back but thankfully I never experienced it with these smaller coil heads. The 7mm ID bullet-style Delrin drip tip tapers down into a 5.5mm flavor concentrating chimney and is held in place by dual O-rings. The top cap is 510 drip tip compatible but I enjoy the shape and feel of the bullet drip tip which stayed installed since day one. Even at such low wattages, if you take long tough pulls like me, the drip tip can still heat up quickly so keep that in mind.

The Brit Mini coil heads are SMOK’s first full chamber coil design to date. As I said earlier, I had flooding and gurgling problems with the Brit Mega Cloud Tank that I couldn’t seem to get around. I was expecting the same experience with the Brit Mini coil heads since they are a smaller version but share an identical shape. I’m happy to report that I’ve had no issues with these coil heads and they’ve been a joy to vape with! Having the coil head serve as the chimney is a proven method of delivering top-notch flavor. Aspire with their Cleito series of Sub-Ohm Tanks have shown this to be the ideal way to achieve the best flavor with minimal leaking issues. There’s no need to prime the Brit Mini coil heads or you run the risk of drinking your eJuice; just let the cotton soak up the eJuice and you’ll be good to go. Expect zero break-in time with intense flavor within a pull or two of firing a brand-new coil head.

The preinstalled BM2 1.2Ω coil head consists of a single NiChrome parallel coil and three 6mm x 1.5mm wicking slots. The BM2 is rated between 15-35W but I found between 25-30W is the optimum vape for me. With this coil head I left the wattage on my SMOK H-Priv Mini right at 30W and got excellent warm vapor and some mini clouds along with it. I preferred Direct-Lung pulls over Mouth-To-Lung simply for the warm vapor I was getting. Taking long drawn out 5-6 second pulls proved to me that restrictive airflow can still provide an excellent vape experience. The same Orange gasket that was included on the Brit Mega coil heads is seen here. It’s preinstalled and helps prevent spit back which it does a good job doing. Any coil head over 1.0Ω have really impressed me the last few months and the BM2 1.2Ω is no different. Once the puff counter on my SMOK H-Priv Mini hit 215 is when I was getting a slightly muted taste and it was time for the other included coil head.

Tucked nicely in the box is a BM2 0.6Ω coil head that appears almost identical to the preinstalled variant. Besides the coil diameter being slightly larger, the wicking slots and amount of cotton are dead on. The package states it performs best between 15-25W but the coil housing says 15-35W. As with the 1.2Ω coil, right at 25W was a perfect balance of warm vapor and delicious tasting eJuice. The same spit back gasket comes preinstalled but I was getting some random spitting more often than I’d like to see. I ended up taking much softer pulls then I normally would and it seemed to alleviate the problem. I could take back to back pulls in quick session without ever drying out the cotton or getting a muted or musty hit. The only problem I have with the Brit Mini coil heads is finding them in stock to buy more. Everywhere I looked other people were having the same challenge I was so hopefully SMOK gets these out pronto.

Final Grade – A-

“If you’re searching for big dense plumes of vapor, you’re not going to achieve that with the SMOK Brit Mini Flavor Tank. As the name suggests, the flavor is awesome and worth the $25 (at Element Vape) if you ask me. Once the coil heads are readily available, this could be my go-to low-wattage Flavor Tank!”
