SMOKTech is at it again with another spat of new box mods coming our way in the next few weeks. Today, we’re previewing what looks to be another surefire winner with the SMOK G150 TC Box Mod Kit. The Full Kit includes the ever-popular SMOK TFV8 Big Baby Sub-Ohm Tank (5mL capacity). Vapor Authority will be offering this new Kit from SMOK in a variety of colors.
What to Expect with the SMOK G150 TC Box Mod Kit
Surely, we can expect another meticulously crafted, impeccably designed box mod, with a sweet-spot maximum wattage output of 150W, and the Temperature Control Suite used in all recent SMOK box mods, plus all the standard safety features we all know and care about. WARNING: We’ll reserve judgement until our shipment arrives and we can spend some quality time with the G150, but I can’t tell you how disappointed I was to find out that the SMOK G150 TC Box Mod has an Internal Battery instead of the usual dual, triple, or quadruple replaceable 18650 hi-amp batteries. Instead, for reasons that are not clear (yet) SMOK has decided to build the G150 with a 4,200mAh integrated internal battery.
I would like to remind our readers that the simple, yet fun, Kanger K Kiss is equipped with a massive 6200mAh internal battery, and the eLeaf QC is equipped with a 5000mAh internal battery. I would be much more excited about the G150 had SMOK decided to reach for the 6200mAh level, instead of a decidedly puny 4200mAh. We’ll be testing battery life for several days to get a firm grasp on what to expect.
The SMOK TFV8 Big Baby Choice
The Full Kit for the G150 includes the best-of-all-worlds TFV8 Big Baby Beast Tank. A wise choice for the physical size of the mod, and the middle of the road 150W of power. Better yet are the Replacement Coils included with this Kit.
SMOKTech doesn’t simply throw together a new mod and whatever tank looks best. It is obvious from the choice of Coil Heads included with the Full Kit that SMOK is attempting to extend the life of the internal battery, and provide remarkable flavor and ample clouds. The two SMOK Coil Heads are:
1 – T8-Baby Q2 Coil – This Dual Coil has a resistance of 0.4Ω, and a wattage range of 55W-65W. A Dual Coil won’t suck up the ejuice or drain the battery life like some of the more powerful choices for the TFV8 Big Baby. Although we haven’t begun to review this new SMOK box mod, I would venture to say that the Dual Coils are the right choice.
1 – Baby M2-Core Atomizer Coil (0.15 Ohms) – This Coil Head may, or may not, be the actual coil that will ship with the G150 Kit. The reason I say this is that the M2 was designed for Direct Voltage mods using the SMOK TFV8 Baby Beast or Big Baby Beast. Its resistance is 0.15Ω, and has a wattage range of 25W-45W. The M2 is a new coil, and one we haven’t used before. It will be interesting to see how this new coil performs with a variable wattage mod.

Vapor Authority is expecting the G150 Full Kit in a matter of days, and they’ve priced the full kit at just $69.95. Considering the 150W, the Big Baby tank, the two coils, plus a spare tank and parts, the price is set to where we expect to see as an excellent value.
