The SMOK Veneno Starter Kit Preview – Hey, I’m still a big fan of SMOK products, but this new tear through introducing new mods and Kits is beginning to look a little strange. Take this new SMOK Veneno Starter Kit; once again we’re presented with a 225W mod with full TC system, a full-color display, and this time out SMOK has included their just released Big Baby Light sub-ohm as part of the Kit version. It is even powered by Dual 18650 batteries.  What’s really different here?

3 Modes for the SMOK Veneno?

“ELEMENT

There are three modes available for the user:  VW mode, TC mode (Ti, Ni, SS) and MEMORY mode. That is it; no TCR, no Bypass, etc. SMOK has stripped this mod down to the modes most popular with its usual customers, and that’s a good move. Soon we’ll begin to see mods released without Temperature Control systems because they are being used less and less. For now, the Veneno still features it.

The SMOK Big Baby Light Edition is so new we still have seen one in person, so we can’t offer any details here other than we’ve said we expect in our Preview for the tank.

SMOK is capitalizing on its achievements with the larger, full color display seen in the ProColor, the similar size used in the Alien, ProColor, T-PRIV, and the upcoming SMOK Majesty. The Veneno and the upcoming S-PRIV (with its raised skull beneath the color display) seem to follow the same path. Reuse the same technology and just design a new body and pick one of the many successful TF8/TFV12 tanks to use in the Kit versions.

Is it lazy on SMOK’s part, or have they bumped up into a technology wall that prevents further innovation? We’re not sure, but we’re willing to give the SMOK Veneno Kit a fair shake. Will it come down to customers choosing their SMOK Mod Kit by the design of the body alone? Maybe.

The Preview Wrap Up...

From here it looks as though SMOK is throwing every design they can think of out there to see what sells and what doesn’t. Only the Chinese manufactures have this kind of power to retool and push out new models so quickly. After the ProColor I think I would have sat back, put some marketing into it, and let it gain some traction. The ProColor is a beautiful, powerful, box mod, and so far, I’ve seen nothing better looking, or with newer tech.

“AVAILABLE”

Still, if you haven’t already purchased the last few box mods, or starter kits from SMOK, maybe this one will do it. The fancy lights shining out of the mod when you’re firing it might be the thing that makes you press that Buy Now button. Or maybe it will be the Skull on the S-PRIV. Or maybe you’re fine with the SMOK Alien you bought earlier this year, or the Alien 2, AKA, the ProColor. Either way, when the Veneno arrives we’ll review it as though it is a standalone device from SMOK, and we’ll let you know how well it fares.

We expect to see the same high-quality materials and performance that we see in the last several SMOK mods and tanks, but you never know. Maybe there is something about the Veneno that will cause us to see something truly new.

I just hope SMOK, or the vendors that sell SMOK products, don’t think the average Vaper will drop the coin on each new design change, especially if the specs stay the same.

Everything you need to know about the Veneno Mod and the Big Baby Light is below. Anything else will have to wait until we’ve had a chance to put it throw the paces. Stay tuned…
