There are times when we wonder if vape companies really listen to reviewers. Though I can’t be sure Snowwolf is reading Spinfuel VAPE, I’m secretly hoping they read my review of the original MFENG mod last year. Overall, we liked the device, but a handful of things – most notably, a jutting, awkward 3D wolf head and ugly display – prevented the mod from reaching loftier heights.

Well, based on the look and feel of the MFENG UX, we think they’re listening. First off, the abbreviation UX often stands for “user experience” in design terms. And the now-flat wolf graphic on the back of the mod indicates it will be a MUCH nicer user experience for vapers who no longer have to worry about an animal head digging away at their palms.

Secondly, the display seems to be much improved over the original design, with brighter, cleaner graphics, and a better layout for a more-legible screen.

Snowwolf MFENG UX VAPE Mod PREVIEW

Beyond that, everything we already liked about the original MFENG seems to be in place for the dual-18650 UX, with 200 watts of potential power, full temp control suite, TCR modes, display adjustments and much more under the hood.

Also, not for anything, but the dimensions seem to imply the MFENG UX is a little sleeker and more compact, making for a comfortable hand feel in comparison to its older brother.

Our Hopes for the Snowwolf MFENG UX

In our reviews, all of the various “*Feng” devices have come up just shy of greatness – all of them proving to be functional, serviceable vape mods with some distinct quirks and setbacks. But the pre-release documentation for the MFENG UX shows a sleeker, slenderer vape device with less focus on striking angles, and more focus on ergonomics and access to operation buttons. Everything from the rounded edges to the higher-res display, and even the color schemes all scream “usability.”

We’re also hopeful that the company’s penchant for high-power, fast-ramping vape mods will remain intact with the MFENG UX – there’s no point in making aesthetic improvements only to ruin things beneath the surface, now is there?

Potential Fears for the Snowwolf MFENG UX

Comfort! We might have given the original MFENG an “A” score if it hadn’t been for that blasted wolf head. It wasn’t the ONLY problem we had with the device, but it certainly is the most memorable. We’re confident that the streamlined format will lead to a better experience, but Snowwolf has a long history of making bold design choices… sometimes at the expense of comfort. We’re quietly hoping this is no longer the case with the MFENG UX.

We’re also a little concerned by the vague description of the chipset and operating system. We’ve never had any real problems with their menu trees, the MFENG UX appears to have an entirely new setup… yet the company hasn’t shared much about things that have changed.

ALL COLORS Snowwolf MFENG UX Mod PREVIEWWrapping Up…

Color us intrigued. The original Snowwolf MFENG didn’t wow us like we initially thought it would, but a few of us keep it around for a rainy day. While the company didn’t push TOO far beyond the original, keeping the brand design intact, there’s a definite focus on maturity and functionality here that wasn’t present the first time around. We’re feeling really good about the possibility of this series making a turn toward a more usable device, rather than just one that will get the most looks when you take it out for the right.

Of course, we won’t know until the MFENG UX arrives on our desks in the next few weeks. Until then, stay tuned for our full review and breakdown of this intriguing, more scaled-back vape mod.
