In addition to powerful features it is also a durable, high grade stainless steel beauty. Sleek and stylish, the iStick TC40W comes in black, blue, grey and silver, and all this is just $27.95. You can buy the kit, which includes a GS-Tank for just $2 more from MyVaporStore. If you can find one, the Kit version is definitely the way to go.
Whether you buy the Kit version with the GS-Tank or not, the iStick TC40W will work with a wide array of tanks and clearomizers. As long as the tank you want to use is equipped with a coil head of 0.5-ohm or higher you’re good to go.

Controlling Your iStick TC40W
Any eLeaf Temperature Control vaporizer can seem daunting to new vapers or vapers buying their first 
temperature control mod. That said, eLeaf is making it easier and easier to access these advanced features, especially when compared to devices using the DNA or SX chip boards. In addition, the eLeaf (and Joyetech) TC modes work with Nickel AND Titanium coils.
No matter what your current proficiency might be with regards to variable wattage and/or temperature control systems, I am providing a concise and easy to understand guide on controlling the various features of the iStick TC40W.
Powering on:
Press the Fire Button 5 times fast to turn on your iStick. The screen will come alive letting you know the device is ready to go.
Powering off:
Press the Fire Button 5 times fast to turn your device off. As the iStick shuts down the display will go dark.
Charging your iStick TC40w
The battery power indicator on the screen will flash when the remaining power level is less than 10%. It can be charged with the USB cable through the USB port on the bottom of the device. It will take about 3.5 hours to get a full charge via a 1A wall adapter. The battery indicator will keep flashing during charging and the screen will go out when fully charged.
Switching between Temperature Control and Variable Wattage Modes
With the device turned on, press and hold the Menu Button for 5 seconds. This simple action will switch your current power option to the other option. Repeat the process to change it back. Now you can go into and out of Temp Control with a single button!
Variable Wattage (VW) mode:
The output wattage of the iStick TC40W can be adjusted from 1w to 40w simply by pressing the up and down adjustment buttons.
While In Temperature Control (TC) mode:
In TC-Ni mode (Temperature Control with Nickel Coils), maximum output wattage is 40w
Adjust Temperature in TC Mode:
In TC-Ni mode (Temperature Control with Nickel Coils) the temperature can be adjusted from 200-600 °F, or 100-315 °C or by pressing the up or down adjustment buttons. Holding the button down will increase the progress at which the settings increase of decrease.
Stealth Mode
Stealth Mode means that your OLED display on the iStick will remain dark. Make sure your settings are where you want them before going into stealth mode.
Turn on Stealth Mode:
With the iStick TC40W on press and hold the Fire Button and the Down Adjustment Button at the same time for 5 seconds. The screen will display “Stealth On”.Release the buttons after you see the message.
Turning off Stealth Mode:
With the device turned on, press and hold the Fire Button and the Down Adjustment Button at the same time for 5 seconds. The screen will display the message “Stealth Off”.
Adjustment Button: Locking/Unlocking
Locking the Adjustment Buttons:
With the device turned on, press and hold the Up and Down Adjustment Buttons at the same time for 5 seconds.
The screen will display “LOCK“. Your adjustments buttons are now locked and you will no longer be able to
adjust your settings until you Unlock the device.
Unlocking the Adjustment Buttons:
With the device turned on, press and hold the Up and Down Adjustment Buttons at the same time for 5 seconds.
The screen will display “UNLOCK”. Your adjustments buttons are now unlocked and you can again begin to make adjustments to the device.
Lock/Unlock atomizer resistance:
In TC-Ni (Temperature Control with Nickel Coils) mode press and hold the Fire Button and the Up Button for 2 seconds, watch for a padlock symbol to appear over the ohms (Ω) symbol when locked.
Be sure to lock the atomizer base resistance when the atomizer coil is cool, not hot.
Rotating the display
You can rotate the display a full 180 degrees for either right of left handed users.
With the device OFF, press and hold the UP and DOWN Adjustment Buttons for 5 seconds. The screen will light up and show the screen rotation. Repeating the process will rotate the screen 180 degrees.
Once the screen is set to the rotation you want turn the device on and you are ready to vape.
My Impressions
It only takes about 3.5 hours to charge, initially, and it produces excellent flavor and vapor one would want to see from a device as small as this one. The iStick TC40W gift box comes with a 0.15 ohm GS Tank Atomizer, and makes a good match for the iStick TC40W.
People new to vaping may find Temperature Control settings confusing, at first, as the device is sometimes recommended for more advanced users. The Eleaf iStick TC40W makes it easier and much less confusing than many other devices. See the above instructions on how easy it is to use.
As it comes with a Ni200 TC Atomizer head already installed, one can simply hold the central selection button down for five seconds and see TC Mode on the OLED. The temperature control allows you to set the maximum cut-off temperature. If you set it too low, the device will cease to vape. For instance, I usually keep it on 500˚F, and the temperature does not get over 390˚F providing a decent-sized, full capacity lung inhale. If you set the temperature to 350˚F, the device is will turn off in three seconds or so upon vaping because it is set too low..
The GS-Tank Atomizer is small and powerful. It can hold 3ml of e-liquid and has a clear glass tank. The silver colored mouthpiece and adjustable air hole base perform well, and look good doing it. As air is fed through the atomizer’s six adjustable air holes from the bottom, it produces cool and flavorful vapor.
Having a battery capacity of 2600mAh, the size of the iStick TC40W is smaller than it looks in photos. The bottom-feed air holes are surely a positive factor in regards to why the GS Tank works as well as it does.

Why a “B?” Though it is hard to outdo this combination, the USB charging port is on the bottom, so it cannot stand alone and requires the additional charging accessory to stand up straight while charging. The temperature control operations, though easier than most TC devices, can still be a little complicated for people new to vaping –I do still recommend its purchase for vapers looking for a small box mod with temperature control, and enough wattage to easily vape atomizers as low as 0.5-ohms. – J.C.
