The Almond Joy Column

Remnants of the Orlando Vapor Show…

…it has chocolate?  Oh hell no, keep THAT stuff away from me!”  I know there are a lot of you who like chocolate flavored e juice, and that’s all well and good, but I’ve never found a chocolate flavored e juice that tasted worth a flip.

While perusing the many tables at the Orlando Vapor Show I happened upon a table that had an e juice called Almond Joy, made by the good folks at Joy Eliquid.  Where they are located? I have absolutely no idea, all I have is a Gmail address I found on their Instagram channel.

That said, I have found this juice for sale online at www.theejuiceexchange.com. A 30 ml. bottle is a steal at $16.99. Almond Joy is an 80 VG/20 PG mix, and most premium e liquids I see on the market start are $20 and up… I know where I’m gonna get my next bottle of Almond Joy e liquid.

As I said when I started this column, I am not, nor have I ever had any claim to the fact that I am any kind of expert when it comes to reviewing…anything.  I haven’t even played a reviewer on TV, nor am I ever likely to, as I have been told numerous times…” Tim, you have a great face…for radio!”  However, I do know what I like and what I don’t like.  Up until a couple of months ago, I would have told you that chocolate was a flavor I did NOT like, but that was then and this is now.  I don’t know what it is, exactly, but this Almond Joy flavor is great for vaping.

Now then, I know the overriding question on all y’alls minds is; “what exotic device and which popular tank did you use for your review this time?”  Great question, because I was just thinkin’ the same thing.

Only I had to ask myself…” self; is everyone you reach via your column gonna be able to use a Sigelei 150-watt TC with a Uwell Rafale tank or even a Joyetech Cuboid and a Zephyrus V1 or V2 sub tank?  No, not everyone.

A lot of you will be just getting into the sub-ohm tank and regulated mod arena.  There is also a lot of you that read my column with a bit a skepticism.  By that I mean I am, by no means, a professional, or even a semi-pro vaper. I’m more like a novice, or I guess, more accurately a general class vaper, meaning that I don’t have sponsor that sends me stuff to review all the time, I have had to, as a disabled vet, save and buy all my own tanks, coils, mods, and juices.  That said, I have been extremely fortunate in the fact that my lovely wife Gloria will allow me to buy pretty much anything…within reason.  “Oh hey dear, I just took out a personal loan so I could get that new 500 watt super fantastic mechanical regulated mod that will even analyze the juice in yer tank, it was only $1800!”  THAT probably wouldn’t go over to well, but hey, it analyzes the juice while in your tank, so yea I would be getting analyzed for a broken jaw too!

Seriously though folks, it’s not about the biggest mod, or how much juice your tank holds, it’s about what you have and what works for you.

So, for this review I figured I would use one of my everyday mods, an Ehpro SPD A5, it is a regulatedAlmond Joy mod, good up to 50 watts, and it has temperature control.  This was actually one of, if not the first of, the temperature controlled mods that I own.  The tank I’m using this week is one of my favorites, the original Horizon Tech Arctic tank, it doesn’t hold the most juice, somewhere around 3ml, maybe 3.5 ml, but the 0.5 ohm Kanthal coils I use do offer some truly outstanding flavor.  As I said last week I’m all about the flavor, so for my taste test this is the rig to beat right here.  I don’t care how many watts a mod will do, if it suits my needs, it’ll work for me.

Let’s get to how this juice tastes, I can honestly say that this will probably be the one and only juice that has any kind of chocolate flavoring that I will ever use on a regular basis.  Now, to give this a fair shake I spent all weekend with this juice, and part of last week as well, even though last week was one of those weeks from hell, I did manage to get some time with this flavor, over the weekend it was a little more rigid insofar as this was about the only juice I was sucking on during the day and on into the evening.  Late evening, I did pick up another one of my mods just to have a taste of something new, to give me time to let the chocolate, coconut, and almonds time to die down a bit, but this juice is so damn good I couldn’t stay away for long.

Almond Joy e liquid, tastes like milk chocolate on the inhale, and the coconut and almonds give just an ever so slight milk chocolate on the exhale.  Definitely taste the biggest chocolate flavor on the inhale, and the almond and coconut on the exhale.  Everything mixes so well, its a seamless mixture that I think anyone and everyone who likes the candy bar will NOT be disappointed. I’m giving it 5 star all the way.

Almond JoyIf you’re wantin’ ta know where to get you a bottle www.theejuiceexchange.com is one of the vendors, I’m sure there are others , I just wasn’t looking.

I’ve enjoyed the past two weeks of reviewing a couple of e liquids but next week I’m gonna move on to another topic. Guess y’all are gonna have ta ride along and see what it’s gonna be, now aren’t ya.  Tell your family, tell your friends, heck, tell your enemies too about my column, I’m new at this, still learning, still growing in what is now the 3rd career in my life.  Gotta love it…life that is, if you’re not learning you’re stagnating. If you can learn something new every day you are doing well.

Thank you everyone for reading my column, I really and truly greatly appreciate it, it means a great deal to know that there are folks who may yet learn from something I wrote.  Be well, stay safe, God bless, and….VAPE ON!
