Introduction

Pink Spot Vapors is an amazing success story. In what would be called “overnight” in most other business areas Pink Spot Vapors has gone from a tiny venture to one of the largest, most prosperous e-Liquid and Retail operations in the US. PSV has the fastest growing vape shop in Las Vegas, will soon open a new location in Phoenix AZ, and along with their newly redesigned and state of the art websites for their consumer business, the wholesale side of PSV is expanding faster than ever. For Penn and Sandi Elletson, life hasn’t been a roller coaster ride; it’s been a ride in a rocket ship; straight up and heading for the stars.

The reason for all this rapid growth and amazing success is simple, hard work, dedication, passion, and a profound talent for creating magnificent e-Liquids. E-Liquids for a market that is still in its infancy, and won’t peak for another decade at least.

Our July is eJuice Month celebration wouldn’t be complete without a Pink Spot Vapors review and interview, which we bring you both today.

Pink Spot Vapors was given the opportunity to choose the e-Liquid flavors they wanted us to see, and the choices they made were inspiring, to say the least. They chose well, and in so doing wound up being awarded a few Spinfuel Choice Awards for their efforts.

Note* Pink Spot Vapors and Spinfuel arranged for a review several weeks ago and they were going to be featured in early June. Because we wanted to feature them in our 2nd annual eJuice celebration we held back from doing the review so that we could slip them into early July.

The Spinfuel e-Liquid Review Team

Team B in New Hampshire and Boston conducted this PSV review. Led by our own Julia Barnes, the team spent 72-hours with the eight different flavors, as well as a few more hours of vaping during the “discussion” phase. When all the team members gathered to talk about the e-Liquids they had spent time with, and to compare notes and experiences, it was more than 96 hours altogether.

The Team B Review – Lead Writer: Julia Barnes

We received our shipment from Spinfuel in Florida and promptly went about gathering up the team and dividing up the e-Liquids. In this particular case that job was rather easy. Pink Spot Vapors shipped several 15ML bottles of each flavor so all we had to do is hand out 2 bottles of each flavor to the team members. We may ask that future reviews be handled like this because it assured each of us fresh eJuice and easy access.

Hardware used in this review include various Halo Triton batteries and clearomizers, a few APV’s such as the ProVari, iTaste MVP and SVD, two ZMAX kits, as well as an assortment of 510 and 808 cig-a-like batteries and the Triple 7 Bullet kits. All in all, we used a wider variety of hardware on this review than we have in the past.

Our Scoring method was the standard Spinfuel System; 1 through 5 stars (we need to rework sometime down the road –ed.) and the criteria used were; flavor, vapor, throat hit, complexity, as well as an overall ‘vape experience’ that can’t be easily quantified, like art… you know when you see it, but we believe our comprehensive testing methods are still the best in the business.

Happy Ending: Spinfuel Choice Award: PSV description: “There are happy endings to great books, movies and massages. This is your vaping “Happy Ending” A smooth flavor like nothing you have ever had. It is a must try.”

Julia: Happy Ending is an extremely popular flavor on PSV’s website. So many comments! The photo of a bowl of tiny marshmallows only tells part of the story for this magnificently sweet and creamy vape. I don’t often fall in love with an e-Liquid the first time I try it, sometimes it takes a couple or milliliters to do that, but with Happy Ending I was smitten right away.

Your first inclination to identify the dominating flavor will throw you, if your tastes are similar to my own that is. On the first drag I swore I had tasted a hint of banana, but that quickly dissipated when I exhaled. After that the flavor was something akin to a toasted marshmallow resting in heavy cream. Out of this world delicious and it not only makes a great all-day vape, it is a great way to start your day.

Keira: Happy Ending is a strange name for this e-liquid, and the description doesn’t help much. By the description provided by PSV you would think this e-Liquid was designed to be an ‘end-of-the-day’ vape, but its not. Happy Ending is a marvelous all day vape with a sweetness to it, but with a rich creamy flavor at the same time. It didn’t matter what hardware I was using, the same consistent and delicious creamy flavor came through. This is a must try juice.

Jason: Reading the description and looking at the photo of the bowl of marshmallows I suspected that it was going to be too overly sweet for me. The way PSV overcame the sweet taste was to add the perfect amount of creaminess to it. I would say that Happy Ending is a perfect desert vape, as well as an evening vape. A perfect score from me.

Cynthia: When I realized that I was going to really like Happy Ending my style of vaping changed radically. I began to take long slow drags so that I could get as much vapor as I could because the thick vapor was full of this toasted marshmallow with a hint of roasted coconut sprinkles. I know that sounds strange, but when you are reviewing an eLiquid you vape differently, more apprehensive. It’s only after you discover that you like the eLiquid can you really let your hair down and vape it like you would some other flavor you are already familiar with.

I am adding this to my permanent rotation. A lovely nighttime vape. I cannot wait until winter because Happy Ending will make a wonderful vape in the cold months.

Janet: I was so happy to see that we were all given plenty of e-Liquid for this review and I wish it could always be that way. Why? Because when you get one like Happy Ending you know you’re going tear through it and you can’t place an order fast enough to get another bottle before you run out. Happy Ending is that rare e-Liquid flavor that is abundantly sweet, but equally creamy. Very rich flavor of toasted marshmallows and heavy cream. I adored it.

Surf Rider: NEW Spinfuel Choice Award – This unique e-Liquid is not yet listed on the Pink Spot Vapor website. Therefore, we do not yet have an official description. Maybe one of us can provide that below.

Julia: – Surf Rider is a vapor-producing monster with a very decent throat hit at 12mg nicotine. I can imagine that 18mg or 24mg would make Surf Rider one of the hardest Throat Hit producers in PSV lineup. I taste a sweet, but not overly sweet mix. It tastes somewhat familiar, but I can’t place it. I would vape this all day if I could though, because it is also a very satisfying vape. I love the cool breeze you get on both the inhale and exhale, and to me it’s one of the best “cool” vapes I’ve had in forever.

Keira: Surf Rider Is an amazing new blend from PSV that combines a sweetness and coolness in such a way as to be a excellent solution to vaping on a hot and humid day. It’s hotter today then it was in Florida, though thankfully not as humid, but this was a great flavor to vape outside. Just brilliant!

Jason: Surf Rider – I wish I could identify the candy-like element to Surf Rider, but I just can’t. It’s a sweet menthol-like vape that is very pleasant during the day. A great throat and a massive amount of vapor make Surf Rider one of my favorite new summertime e-Liquids. What a wonderful job they did with hit.

FLAVOR: 5 STARS – VAPOR 5 STARS – THROAT HIT – 5 STARS – COMPLEXITY 5 STARS

Cynthia: Surf Rider tastes like a menthol version of the candy necklaces you can buy. There is ‘candy’ sweetness about it along with a whoosh of coolness that definitely makes it a complex vape that you can use to cool off with in the heat.

FLAVOR: 3.5 STARS – VAPOR 5 STARS – THROAT HIT – 5 STARS – COMPLEXITY 5 STARS

Janet: I loved Surf Rider despite it being a flavor I’ve never had before. I thought I wasn’t much interested in cool flavors but this proves otherwise and makes me want to try more of them. I think PSV fans will love it, and so will anyone looking for something cool and sweet. Even in a simple cartomizer at 3.5v it put out a vast amount of vapor. A solid throat hit makes it a wonderful eJuice for any occasion.

Strawburst: NEW – Another prerelease flavor from Pink Spot Vapors, but unfortunately it did not go over as well as Surf Rider did with most of the team.

Julia: A great vapor producer and an awesome throat hit (12mg too!) Strawburst is an above average flavored juice. It’s sweet on the inhale and much less sweet on the exhale, so the complexity is there as well. I’m just not in love with the flavor. I think the name is derived from “Starburst” candy, which is something I’ve had in the past and never bothered to try again. So, I’ll say that anyone looking for a starburst flavor that hits hard, this is one you’re going to love.
FLAVOR: 3 STARS – VAPOR 5 STARS – THROAT HIT – 5 STARS – COMPLEXITY 5 STARS

Keira: For the first 10 minutes of vaping Strawburst I was not enjoying it as much as I thought I would. Then I took a break for a while and came back to it and loved it. There is something about it, an aggressive sweet vape with powerful vapor and throat hit, but with a flavor unique to me. A touch of fruity candy I think. While I enjoyed every drop of it I don’t think it will make the rotation.
FLAVOR: 3 STARS – VAPOR 5 STARS – THROAT HIT – 5 STARS – COMPLEXITY 5 STARS

Jason: A sweet inhale with a cool exhale combines to create one hugely successful eLiquid. I think Strawburst is going to be a big seller for PSV because, like Surf Rider, it is something that can be enjoyed in the hottest weather and still provide the throat hit and vapor production you need to get a marvelous vape experience going. I recommend you exhale slowly to get the full effect of coolness.

FLAVOR: 5 STARS – VAPOR 5 STARS – THROAT HIT – 5 STARS – COMPLEXITY 5 STARS

Cynthia: I get a certain fruity flavor from Strawburst, like a melon of some kind. Combined with that fruity taste there is coolness on exhaling that makes it a very interesting and satisfying vape. Not the favorite of the bunch, but worth checking out.

FLAVOR: 4 STARS – VAPOR 5 STARS – THROAT HIT – 5 STARS – COMPLEXITY 5 STARS

Janet: The best way to enjoy Strawburst is to vape it with something that will produce a warm vape. For me it was a LR 510 cartomizer on an eVic. I tried it on a normal Halo Triton and clearomizer too, and while it was fine on that it really came to life with the Low Resistance carto pushed to about 3.7v. Any higher it was too much heat. Plus, with a regulated battery I got a nice even output that produced the exact same flavor throughout the vaping period, which wound up being longer than I had planned. I loved it!

Peach Pit Tobacco: Spinfuel Choice Award “A perfect peach flavor with a slight undertone of tobacco. A very nice subtle vape that you can enjoy all day.”

Julia: I was very surprised by Peach Pit Tobacco. I’ve had plenty of variations of this flavor and I figured this would be very similar to the others. Instead I experienced a whole new layer of peachy tobacco-ness that I’ve never tasted before. This is seriously delicious, with a nice peach flavor going in and a rich, yet smooth, tobacco flavor going out. I had several friends take a drag of this and they say they loved it. I’ve added it to my rotation already.

Keira: I agree with Jules completely. For a flavored tobacco peach is a great taste to experience. Peach Pit Tobacco was rich and smooth, and you just didn’t get a fruity taste to a smooth tobacco, you got a peach flavor with your tobacco. An excellent balance of two superior flavors.

FLAVOR: 5 STARS – VAPOR 5 STARS – THROAT HIT – 5 STARS – COMPLEXITY 5 STARS

Jason: I like both peach and a tobacco flavor, and if they are combined correctly then you have something really special. These two go together great, providing a ton of flavor and a wicked amount of vapor. This makes a good all-day vape too!

Cynthia: I was looking forward to the Peach Green Tea, but not the Peach Pit Tobacco, imagine my surprise when I vaped this for the first time and fell instantly in love with the taste of the supreme blend of peaches and a smooth, deep flavor of tobacco. Added to my rotation right away. FLAVOR: 5 STARS – VAPOR 5 STARS – THROAT HIT – 5 STARS – COMPLEXITY 5 STARS

Janet: I’ve tried other peach and tobacco blends that were okay; a couple of them were pretty great too. But something about Peach Pit Tobacco really nailed it for me. Loved the sweet peach flavor with the rich tobacco flavor. Simply awesome.

Topless Beach: “This dreamy combination of Banana and Peach will make it almost impossible to keep the top on the bottle.”

Julia: I didn’t read the description when I first vaped Topless Beach (I LOVE the name of this e-Liquid. So John-like!) Anyway, I expected a fruity drink vape, like a Mai Tia or Pina Colada. But, I immediately tasted banana and I had to recheck the bottle to make sure it was Topless Beach. Then I read the description and it was a banana eJuice. While I did enjoy it I hardly tasted the peach at all. I would like to try a 50/50 banana/peach blend one day, but this is predominately banana, so it scores well, but not great.

FLAVOR: 3.5 STARS – VAPOR 4 STARS – THROAT HIT – 3 STARS – COMPLEXITY 3 STARS

Keira: I don’t think anyone would guess that something called Topless Beach would have the flavor of bananas in it, and this is a very banana flavored eJuice. I really love PSV Banana Nut Bread, but this one didn’t work for me.
FLAVOR: 3 STARS – VAPOR 3 STARS – THROAT HIT – 2 STARS – COMPLEXITY 3 STARS

Jason: The only problems I could see with Topless Beach is that the name is wasted, because it is a great name for a tropical drink eJuice, and the balance of banana and peach weren’t as good as I had hoped. Maybe banana will always beat out a peach flavor, but for my own tastes, there was little to no peach flavor coming from this.

FLAVOR: 3.5 STARS – VAPOR 4.5 STARS – THROAT HIT – 3 STARS – COMPLEXITY 3 STARS

Cynthia: I love banana vapes, so the only negatives about Topless Beach are the lack of peach flavoring, and a little less vapor output than the others. But, I loved the taste of the banana though, so it gets a good score from me for that alone.

FLAVOR: 5 STARS – VAPOR 4 STARS – THROAT HIT – 3 STARS – COMPLEXITY 3 STARS

Janet: I’m trying to remember if I’ve ever had a straight banana flavored eLiquid, I don’t think I have. This has to be what one tastes like though, and I loved it. Maybe…maybe there are some hints of a peach flavor in there, but its barely noticeable. In any case, I like it.

Peach Green Tea: Spinfuel Choice Award “This peach green tea is a smooth subtle perfectly blended flavor that is good for the body, mind and soul!”

Julia: Not only is Peach Green Tea a marvelous e-Liquid flavor, it’s a heck of a vapor producer as well. I mean this puts out on all levels. A real authentic peach flavor, a touch of green tea to counteract the sweetness of the peach, and the end result is something very special. A throat hit that most people will love, a complex mix of peach and tea, this has to be a very popular blend for PSV. I loved it.
FLAVOR: 5 STARS – VAPOR 5 STARS – THROAT HIT – 5 STARS – COMPLEXITY 5 STARS

Keira: I think for many people the word “tea” connotes a non-sweet herbal flavor and that would be disappointing if it stopped someone from trying Peach Green Tea from PSV. I loved this one for the awesome taste, the incredible vapor, and the best throat hit of the 8. A real peachy flavor blends perfectly with a nice, semi-sweet tea to create a great vape that can be all day, or any time. Not the best choice as a desert vape, or with coffee, but as a daytime or nighttime vape this one is hard to beat.

Jason: Peach Green Tea has a unique flavor combination going for it. Lots of peachy flavor combining with a subtle green tea makes this one a real delight any time of day. I recommend a clearomizer for this one if only because you won’t believe the amount of vapor you’ll get not to mention the clean flavors. Awesome blend.

Cynthia: When I go out to dinner, like the Olive Garden on Loudon Road, I always order their raspberry tea or their peach tea (when they have it) and when I started vaping this I was immediately thrown back to the peach tea you can get there. A nicely sweet tea with plenty of peach flavor, and so much vapor I thought it was a very high VG blend. Excellent eLiquid!

Janet: I filled a 3.5ML tank with Peach Green Tea and vaped it straight for about 3 hours one night. There was so much vapor that I wound up using some eye drops because my eyes dried out. This eLiquid had a very balanced, somewhat sweet flavor of peach iced tea that I plainly enjoyed. Definitely getting more of this one.

Banana Nut Bread: “This flavor is packed with so much flavor, you may not go back to eating actual Banana Nut Bread. It really does not get any better than this one!”

Julia: I’ve had many different variations of Banana Nut Bread and among the best of them PSV could hold its own. It is a sweet and delicious banana nut bread in vapor form that was just terrific to vape for almost an entire day. The division of banana, cake, and nuts are just right, creating a splendid and authentic banana nut bread vape. Wonderful, if not original.

Keira: I’ve had several banana nut bread eLiquids before too, and I think PSV’s is an original. In fact, I still have one from another brand and compared the two in a side-by-side vape-off and PSV won hands down for originality. There is something “extra” in the Pink Spot Vapor’s version and I can’t quite figure it out, but it puts it over the top. If you like banana nut bread you definitely should try this one.

Jason: This might sound stupid, but to me PSV’s version of banana nut bread tastes like a “cooked” version of the bread whereas many of the others I’ve tried tasted like banana nut bread batter. This one isn’t as sweet as the ‘batter’ tasting ones, but certainly sweet enough. This is once delicious tasting eLiquid.

Cynthia: I know exactly what Jason means by his description. PSV’s banana nut bread is not as sweet as some of the others and has a more cake flavor to it, and it is a wonderful tasting eJuice. As far as the nuts go, I think it’s either pecan or walnuts, and I had to pick one I’d say walnuts because they are drier and less sweet than pecans. PSV’s banana nut bread is not to be missed if you like this type of juice.

Janet: LOL, you see, I prefer the sweeter versions of banana nut bread, but I think you guys are right; PSV’s banana nut bread is a finished nut bread and not a sweet batter. I just enjoy the sweet batter version a little more. Still, it’s a heck of vape.

Conclusion & Buying Advice

It’s been 14 months since we last sat down with Pink Spot Vapors e-Liquids for a review. That is way too long. We asked PSV to choose the flavors for us and what we received was a bunch of amazing and different flavors. Penn and Sandi are premium Flavorists that know how to manipulate our taste buds through the art of mixing the magical ingredients needed to make special e-Liquids.

As far as being awarded Spinfuel Choice Awards we were completely blown away when we added up the numbers. Four awards out of eight e-Liquids is startling, especially when you were sure that maybe one or two might come close, but not four actual winners. Yet, it happened, and they are without a doubt, worth the designation of award-winning flavors.

What’s even stranger is that a few of others came pretty close to winning as well.

Our buying advice is pretty simple; Pink Spot Vapors is one of the largest and most successful e-Liquid vendors in America and many of their e-Liquids are worthy of winning any award. You can make your decision about which ones you want to try now and which ones you should try later, but the winners are certainly a great place to start.
