A Spinfuel eLiquid Team Review

As you will read our expectations for LiteCigUSA eliquid was quite different than the reality. Part of the discrepancy between expectation and reality is based on the company name. In all honesty, when Dave assigned this review to my team thoughts from all was that we were about to review a line of eliquid from a cig-alike brand…some inexpensive Chinese made, PG-dominant eliquid that would be difficult to spend 72 hours with, much less write a fair review based on a total of a few minutes with each flavor. Once again, did Dave toss us a brand that we would forced to review with unkind, albeit honest words?

As it turns out, LiteCigUSA may not have a name that inspires the utmost in quality, but their eliquids, manufactured for them by Liquid Art Inc. are fantastic. LiteCigUSA Premium eLiquids are indeed premium eliquids, at prices that beg comparison to budget brands. $25-$29.99 for a 100mL bottle is very inexpensive, yet the vapor production and flavors are marvelous… even for brands that cost twice as much or more.

Today we review eight (8) flavors, the complete set of flavors from LiteCigUSA. Each flavor is blended as Max VG formulas for superior cloud production.

All eight flavors are available in 6, 3 and 1.5mg nicotine.

Characteristics of the Flavors

Each blend produced plenty of clean, non-artificial flavors that were easy to identify. Blueberry tasted like blueberries, peach tasted like peaches, strawberry like strawberries, and so on. The intensity of the flavors is evenly distributed and offered the same delightful taste in various sub-ohm tanks and RDA’s.  Vapor production is identical to all but a couple of flavors, and through various tanks, RDA’s, coils, and coil metals, the vapor production was as expected, or more, for a Max VG blend.

The biggest surprise is the number of other eliquid brands LiteCigUSA carries online and in the retail shop. We’re talking dozens upon dozens of brands, all premium, high-priced labels suck as Charlie Noble, Teleos, Space Jam, and more. LiteCigUSA is a major vendor of vape gear and vape juice (eliquids of course), with nary a cig-alike in sight.

For online customers LiteCigUSA offers free shipping for orders over $25. They ship to all 50 States, plus Puerto Rico, Guam, U.S Virgin Islands, APO and FPO addresses.  All orders placed online are shipped from the Avis, PA headquarters.

Julia’s Team Scoring Methods for 2016.

The lowest score an eliquid can receive is 1.00. A score of 1.00 represents an eliquid that cannot be vaped by the member of the team that awarded the score. A 1.00 does not solely consider flavor, it includes any unpleasant aftertastes or other indicators that point to an awful eliquid. 

 A 2.00 score would represent a score for an eliquid that is not made with quality ingredients, and does not deliver a flavor profile that matches the brand’s official flavor profile, and proves to be an unpleasant vape experience, though not totally unvapeable.

 A 3.00 score represents an Average eliquid. That is, average for 2015-2016 Standards. It means the use of adequate quality ingredients, fairly similar flavor profile of the brand’s official profile, though sometimes written as hyperbole. A 3.00 score is not the median score, it’s just a non-special, okay eliquid found in many good budget brands.

 A 4.00 score represents a better-than-average eliquid for the 2015/2016 ejuice standards. The quality of the ingredients is apparent, and high-end. The official flavor description is an accurate description from the reviewer’s point of view. Many modern eliquid brands fall into this level. A score of 4.00+ is equivalent to the score of a 5.00 score in 2013 terms.

 A 5.00 score is just shy of a perfect eliquid. A 5.00 score eliquid is made of apparent premium ingredients and has a flavor profile that outshines the official flavor profile given to it from the brand. The eliquid delivers not only a great vape, but delivers vape satisfaction beyond the norm. When all members of the review team find an eliquid to be a 5.00 eliquid it is awarded the Spinfuel Choice Award.

 There is NO perfect e-Liquid

A perfect e-liquid is one in which every vaper in the vape community would want to vape. A ‘Universal’ e-liquid, of which by its very nature is impossible. This is the reason why we say a 5.00 score represents an eliquid that is ‘just shy’ of perfect.

Blueberry Custard – $29.99 100mL Plastic Bottle

Official Description:

Julia: 4.75 – This is about as good as it gets for a blueberry custard flavor. Zero aftertastes, no chemical tinges to disrupt the smooth flow of creamy custard with swirling sweet blueberries

throughout. Vapor production in the sub-own world produce thick, aromatic clouds that would please every vaper I know. I would most definitely vape Blueberry Custard on many occasions. Most importantly, the custard, while plentiful, does not overwhelm. This is a blueberry flavor first, with soft custard flavor moving throughout the inhale and exhale.

Kiera: 5.00 – The combination of authentic blueberry flavor and sweet creamy custard makes Blueberry Custard an eliquid that can be enjoyed indoors or out, in cold weather and warm, sunny days or overcast, and even rainy days. This is a “comfort vape” blend, and one I will definitely add to my rotation. Bravo!

Tom: 4.75 – The only issue concerning Blueberry Custard is the narrow band of wattage that it can be vaped. If the wattage is too low both flavor and vapor suffer, too high and it comes close to scorching long before many MaxVG eliquids. Other than that, this is a delicious combo of creamy custard and genuine blueberry flavor.

Vaping Blueberry Custard with Nickel coils at my preferred temperature was 540: f, produces luscious and warm vapor with ample flavors that will more than satisfy.

Jason: 5.00 – Totally unexpected blend of authentic blueberry and custard flavors. What makes this blend stand out for me was how tasty the custard was without causing a custard blow out. Never once did the fruity blueberry flavor get lost in the custard, and that is the work of a truly artistic flavor master.  Not sure I would add this to my everyday vape list, but I could certainly enjoy it several times a month.

Son of a Peach – $25 – 100mL Plastic Bottle

Julia: 5.00 – On the day I was vaping Son of a Peach, Kiera was as well. It was Kiera who had filled our Triton tanks and as she handed me my Triton she told me the name of the eliquid and the flavor. However, all she said was “peach”.

My initial reaction to Son of a Peach was based on going into it expecting a singular peach flavor, and that reaction was, “There is definitely more than peach here. I swear this tastes like the peach yogurt we eat.” After I said that Kiera read the full flavor description to me, which was basically a “peach yogurt” flavor. Well, spot on LiteCigUSA.

Like the other flavors in this lineup the balance of flavor and vapor production couldn’t be better. With the Triton 2 tank and their Clapton Coil 0.5-ohm Kanthal coil heads (Vapor Authority or MyVaporstore), the clouds of vapor were astonishing. So thick, so aromatic, so…. THICK, it was and remains a marvelously satisfying vape.

If peach yogurt is your kind of yogurt try it in vapor form. At $25 for a 100mL bottle, or 25 cents per mL how do you pass any of these eliquids up?

Kiera: 5.00 – It is rare that a peach flavored eliquid can grab you by the tongue and not let go, but that is what happened to me while vaping Son of a Peach. I vaped more than my share of this one, and I would still be vaping it in my Triton 2 tank had I not run out. This is a flavor combination that pleases so thoroughly that I wanted to share it immediately with others. If you like peach yogurt, or just peach, you will adore Son of a Peach.

Tom: 5.00 – While I do not expect to add Son of a Peach to my daily rotation I will admit that as far as peach blends go, this one is spectacular. So much vapor, and so thick, with a deeply sweet peach yogurt flavor on the inhale and exhale. I spent my time with Son of a Peach and one of the new Aspire Cleito top-fill sub-ohm (MyVaporStore and Vapor Authority) with a 0.2-ohm coil head and the intensity of the flavor and the thickness of the vapor was ‘next-gen’ satisfaction.

Jason: 5.00 – Awarding Son of a Peach the full 5.00 score was easy. This was an especially satisfying vape with a mouthful of peachy greatness, yogurt notes flying about, and more vapor clouds that you can shake a stick at. Splendid in every way. Vaped with the Rose Gold Mini Triton by Aspire with their Clapton Coil heads (0.5-ohm Kanthal) and the Innokin Coolfire IV Plus Storm.

Scream – $25.00 – 100mL Plastic Bottle

Julia: 5.00 – Perfectly described by LiteCigUSA, this lovely strawberry cream eliquid is to die for. The first sense of flavor to hit you is an ultra creamy base that comes close to the best cream base I’ve ever had. In fact, without going back to vape every cream based flavor I’ve had in the past year, I cannot tell you which one is better than this creamy base.

A split second later the soft, sweet strawberry floats along the taste buds of your tongue and tantalizes enough to make you want to take the deepest lung hit you can and then to allow every wisp of vapor to slowly guide over the tongue on the way out. As close to perfect as I’ve seen.

Kiera: 5.00 – I love this sweet creamy strawberry eliquid! This magnificent Scream could have been a complete failure had it not been for the excellent choice in creamy flavoring. What a vape experience. So much vapor production too.  What else can I say? If this sounds like a eliquid you would like, then believe me, you will love it.

Tom: 5.00 – I have been actively looking for certain flavors that can help break up the times where I am vaping lots of tobacco and coffee vapes and I need something a lot lighter, but still satisfying. I believe I found it with this Scream juice from LiteCigUSA. An excellent creamy flavoring blended with a luscious strawberry flavor, Scream is definitely an eliquid I will add to my rotation to lighten all the heavy eliquids I vape.

Jason: 5.00 – Tom and I talked about Scream quite a bit as a flavor that could step in after so many days or weeks of vaping tobacco flavors. We agreed that this is an excellent choice because even though there are tons of creaminess in this flavor it is not a heavy cream. It’s purer than heavy custards and vanilla’s, with a nice sweet strawberry mixed in. I am adding this to my rotation, and at $25 for 100mL, how could I not?

Strapple – $25.00 – 100mL Plastic Bottle

“Strapple e-liquid from the LiteCigUSA Premium ejuice line is nothing short of eliquid perfection. We took a bushel of fresh strawberries and added in slices of sweet red delicious apples. This unique blend of flavors is neither overly sweet nor tart. All you will find is the perfect blend of true fruit flavors. Any order with a bottle of LiteCigUSA Premium liquid always ships free!”

Julia: 4.25 – The best sub-ohm tank on the market today is the Cubis tank from Joyetech. It is so awesome of a tank that I am writing a standalone review for it this week. This is the tank I used to vape all the flavors, but it was Strapple that truly revealed the extent of the greatness of this $19.99 tank.

Strapple (not crazy about the name BTW), is a finely tuned blend of strawberries and apples. Strawberry is a strong flavor, and without a careful artist at the helm this strawberry can overwhelm other fruits easily, though with custards it’s a bit easier to balance. LiteCigUSA does a great balancing act with Strapple, giving the red delicious apple flavor more than a fair chance to come through the heavy strawberry.

This is what you’ll taste: On the inhale the first flavor to hit you is, of course, the sweet/tart strawberry. This flavor is 90% authentic strawberry, not quite the perfect strawberry. On the exhale the authentic flavor of red delicious apples come barreling down on you, clearing the decks of most of the strawberry flavor. Together, these two flavors can complement each other, in a lesser tank they might. But in the Cubis, where every nuance of flavor is detected and shared with you, the balance is tilted to the strawberry.

I highly recommend it to strawberry lovers, but for those looking for equal amounts of sweet apples you will be slightly disappointed.

Kiera: 5.00 – Listening to Julia at home talk about Strapple and the unfair advantage strawberry flavors get I couldn’t help but think she got it a little wrong with this one. Yes, I agree with Jules that the official description is a tad wrong when it says it is the perfect blend of true fruit flavors, but only insomuch as ‘perfect’ means equal.

I do not believe that strawberry and red delicious apple flavors can truly be a balanced flavor, strawberry will always win out because of how our taste buds work. Seconds after the last bit of vapor leaves your tongue you will taste that awesome red delicious apple and treat it as a whole experience, Strapple delivers a terrific strawberry/apple blend.

Tom: 4.50 – Any fruit blend that does not taste artificial is a winner in my book. Strapple gives plenty of authentic, non-artificial flavor to both strawberry and apples, and the vapor production is outstanding. The sole reason I did not award the full 5.00 score is that I would have liked to have more apple flavor upfront, and throughout the vape experience.

Strapple is one of the best vapor producers in this lineup.

Jason: 5.00 – While I might not get the same level of enjoyment from Strapple that strawberry lovers will I have to admit that the two main flavors, strawberry and apple, are completely authentic and nicely balanced to give a strong strawberry inhale and a delicious apple on the exhale. Strapple does exactly what it is expected to do, and does so with some of the thickest vapor clouds I’ve seen in this review.

KLB – $25.00 – 100mL Plastic Bottle

We took a fresh kiwi, added a squeeze of lime juice, and meddled everything together with a variety of fresh ripe berries. This e-juice is a sweet, slightly tart and refreshing e-liquid like none you have ever tried. Any order with a bottle of LiteCigUSA Premium liquid always ships free!”

Julia: 4.00 – Not a big fan of Kiwi, which is fine because the dominant flavor in KLB is Lime, one of my favorite vaping flavors. The inhale hits with the full force of a sweet lime that makes me want to cry its so delicious. The exhale brings forth other fruity flavors that taste very much like a mixed berries flavor. The very, very slight Kiwi is on the very tail end of the exhale, and it is hardly bothersome.

So why not the full score of 5.00? Vapor production mainly. Of all the eliquids in the LiteCigUSA Max VG blends KLB produces the least amount of vapor.

If you enjoy lime and mixed berries, this is recommended. KLB is $25 for 100mL in a plastic bottle with the perfect sized thin plastic tip. How can a lime lover turn it down?

Kiera: 5.00 – I’ve yet to meet anyone that loves the full on flavor of a Kiwi, and thankfully with KLB that Kiwi flavor barely registers. What does register in KLB is the sweet berry flavors and mouthful of sweet lime. KLB is a magnificent lime/berry mix at a price you can’t ignore. I loved it.

Tom: 4.50 – I’m not sure anyone else will mention this, but for some reason KLB produces less vapor than any other eliquid in this review. As a Max VG blend that was a little disappointing. However, the excellent blend of lime and berries makes up for the lack of widely thick clouds of vapor. The lime flavor here is sweeter than tart, in fact the tart component is very subdued. The other major flavor, a mixed berry component, shines through almost as much as the lime.

KLB is the perfect eliquid for those days when you grow tired of tobacco’s, coffee’s, and custards, and just want something to liven things up. Something lighter and brighter, a palate cleanser really, and in that capacity KLB is gloriously successful.

Jason: 4.75 – A tasty lime mixed with sweet berries is what KLB is, and always will be. If there is a Kiwi flavor in this blend I cannot taste it. Instead, what I taste is a sweet and tart lime that is more sweet than tart, mixed perfectly with sweet mix berries (cherries, blueberries, grapes?) that delivers just the right amount of refreshing flavors on a hot day, or when you really want to lighten the load of the heavy eliquids you vape most of the time. I recommend KLB to anyone looking for a quality sweet lime and berry eliquid to lift you out of the doldrums.

Bear Paw – $25.00 – 100mL Plastic Bottle

Julia: 5.00 – Cinnamon Danish flavors have been around for a long time. However, all the Danish flavors I’ve tried of late did not deliver the ‘pastry’ flavor nearly as well as older eliquids of the 2013/2014 era. Bear Claw by LiteCigUSA IS a Bear Claw in vapor form. Best vaped with warmth to match a fresh Bear Claw pastry coming out of 20 seconds in the microwave. (I’d say ‘oven’, but honestly, who has time to heat a pastry in the oven when at home?)

Kiera: 5.00 – If I cannot taste the rich, sweet flavor of pastry in the first inhale I immediately dismiss any notion of awarding a score of 5.00 to the eliquid. I am more than thrilled to see that Bear Claw doesn’t mess around with the pastry part of this marvelous Danish pastry.

I love that LiteCigUSA knew that in order to make pastry lovers enjoy this eliquid there had to be plenty of Danish pastry flavor without some artificial or chemical flavor getting in the way. Bear Claw is pure happiness in a warm sweet vape.

Tom: 5.00 – I’m blown away by the authenticity of this flavor in Bear Claw. Everything about this eLiquids official flavor description is exactly right, all the way down to the “generous coating of a rich and creamy frosting”.

Bear Claw is on my rotation, and will remain there until I tire of a true Danish pasty.

Jason: 5.00 – I love it when our discussion over the flavors take on more of an admiration discussion than a critical one. Everyone, including myself, are so impressed with LiteCigUSA’s talent in creating a Danish that actually tasted like a Danish. If you have ever tasted a warm Bear Claw from Dunkin Donuts you will recognize this eliquid right away. Best when vaped warm. Try it in a sub-ohm tank with at least 0.5-ohm. I vaped Bear Claw with a Cuboid mod and Cubis tank (MyVaporStore and Vapor Authority), and with the Cubis being the best vapor producer tank ever made, the vapor clouds from Bear Claw was other-worldly.

Surreal Cereal

We took these sweet and fruity crumbs and doused them with a large helping a sweet and creamy milk. If you are looking for a different fruity cereal vape grab a bottle of Surreal Cereal today. Julia: 4.00 – I have to be careful here with my impression of Surreal Cereal. I liked it, and I enjoyed it, however the flavor of Fruit Loops, or Fruity Pebbles, or some other fruity cereal just doesn’t do anything for me as an eliquid I would go out of my way to buy.

I wouldn’t turn down a tank full if my tank were dry and I was without my stash, just like if the only breakfast cereal in the house was Fruity Pebbles and I really wanted cereal, I would pour a bowl and eat it.

If I had to bet on whether or not this flavor was based on Fruity Pebbles or Fruit Loops, I would place my bet on Fruity Pebbles.

Kiera: 5.00 – In order to arrive at a score of 5.00 I had to vape this eliquid above the normal temperature for fruity eliquids. As a warmer than usual vape this is definitely a fruit cereal, sweet and ‘artificial fruit’ you would expect from fruity cereals. The warm vapor brings out that authentic “cereal” flavor, otherwise the flavor is a ‘fake fruit’ flavor. Recommended by me only for vapers that use sub-ohm tanks or RDA’s.

Tom: 4.75 – Surreal Cereal misses the full 5.00 score simply because it needs to be vaped very warm. I had first vaped this one with a Kanger Subtank Mini with the square 0.5-ohm vertical coils and at a wattage of 30.4w. I enjoyed that fruity cereal flavor but not enough to push it over the top. Kiera was happy to recommend a lower ohm coil head and more wattage in order to get the best flavor, and vapor. So I used a Triton 2 and a Clapton Coil head of 0.5-ohms atop my ProVape Radius set to 40w. That setting released a richer flavor and a lot more vapor. I thought of going even lower, and perhaps Nickel or Titanium coils and a high temperature, but I felt I was getting the most out of it as I could. Damned near scored the full 5.00 though, so for fruity cereal lovers this is a fine choice, especially at $25 for 100mL of a premium eJuice.

Jason: 5.00 – Fruity cereal flavors are a guilty pleasure of mine. The only problem is finding good fruity cereal eliquids. Many of time taste too artificial for me. That’s not to say that a fruity cereal shouldn’t taste artificial, because it should, but with too much artificial sweeteners it tastes too foreign.

Surreal Cereal goes just far enough. This is definitely Fruity Pebbles cereal in vapor form. And vaping it warm you can actually taste that “bottom of the box” thing LiteCigUSA talks about. Delicious and very recommended to those that enjoy cereal vapes.

ROYGBIV

Julia: 5.00 –  Sherbet and rich crème! Does it work? Heck yes it works! ROYGBIV (a strange name, no?) has some complex workings going on in this special blend. Here is how I would describe a typical vape:

With a deep lung hit the flavor begins after the hit stops. Suddenly a very ‘sherbet’ sherbet (rainbow sherbet for sure) hits your tongue and send this wild sherbet flavor everywhere. It is strong, lasting, and delicious. When the sherbet flavor begins to wane the mild and sweet creaminess takes over, but not completely. Instead of the strong rainbow sherbet by itself you leave the vape with the taste of rainbow sherbet covered in sweet cream. Lovely, interesting, and very satisfying.

Kiera 5.00 –  On the third and final day of the review period Jules brought home with her a half gallon container of Rainbow Sherbet, something we’ve never had in the house. She told me that before I moved on to ROYGBIV I had to sit down in front of the TV and “enjoy” a bowl of sherbet. Jules joined me and I have to admit I loved it. Orange Sherbet is the only sherbet I’ve had, so this was a real delight. Raspberry, lemon-lime, orange, flavors divided equally in the container, this would now be our only sherbet. Anyway…

After we talked about the flavors, how the raspberry mixed with the orange and how the lemon-lime added a layer of tartness that permeated the whole flavor profile, I was presented with a Kanger Subtank (0.5-ohm) filled with ROYGBIV and I was asked to vape it and to tell Jules is the flavor was identical or, if it wasn’t, how did it differ.

I placed the Subtank atop my Kanger TopBox Mini, set the wattage to 29.5w and vaped away for several minutes before saying anything. Finally, I agreed that the differ in the actual sherbet and this eliquid was that one was like ice cream, the other made of vapor. Both delicious.

I’m definitely adding this one to my rotation. If you like rainbow sherbet, you will too.

Tom: 5.00 – LiteCigUSA has added a few of their eliquids into my rotation, and this is certainly one of them. Once again, the flavor, rainbow sherbet and crème, comes at a time when I am really looking for back away from tobacco flavors 90% of time and add lighter, brighter flavors.

ROYGBIV is definitely recommended for those vapers looking for a sweet, but tart sherbet flavor with creamy notes throughout. Good vapor production, but not the best of the lineup.

Jason: 5.00 – There is just something about this ROYGBIV eliquid that makes me want to vape it longer than I usually would. I love the sweet and tart sherbet flavors and on the exhale that sweet creamy flavor notes really drive it home.

I will say that ROYGBIV cannot handle extreme wattage, no matter what ohms your coils are, and the warmer the vapor gets the more fragile the balance of sweet and tart are. I recommend a 0.3-ohm Kanthal coils at 33-34w maximum.

Summing Up

LiteCigUSA was a total surprise for all of us. That’s our fault, for not looking into the company until the day came when the review would start. This line is definitely a premium line of eliquids, all with accurate, authentic, and wonderful flavors. Vapor clouds were ample throughout, but heavier in some than others. We were also very surprised when I presented all the scores and found that LiteCigUSA had earned four (4) Spinfuel Choice Awards of 2016. It will be interesting to see how they fare at the end of the year when our yearly awards are presented.

Hands down favorite was Bear Claw and Son of a Peach, but the others follow very closely. Despite not earning a Choice Award, special mention goes to Blueberry Custard for being a true work of art by blending blueberries and creamy custard perfectly.

LiteCigUSA sells their premium line in 100mL plastic bottles with terrific long plastic thin tip for easy filling of nearly every tank we used in this review. Prices range from $25 per 100mL to $29.99 per 100mL. Who expected a premium line to sell for 25 cents per mL? Not us. Buy a few bottles right here.
