Fun Things - Like an HHC Disposable

Home can be a place you love to be. A place filled with things that bring you joy. A comfy reading chair, favorite paintings or photos, and your collection of books. But home can also be a place to have fun and save money at the same time. Home is the place you go to in between errands, meet friends, or when you treat yourself to a night in.

In honor of Fun Friday, here are 5 tips for having fun at home and saving money:

Fun #1 – Save Money and Have Fun with Free (or Cheap) Games

I know this is pretty basic, but I think too many underestimates a games’ entertainment value from childhood. If you were like me and saved your allowance for a game at the store or begged your parents for quarters for arcade games, you likely encountered some fun and repetitive games.

Fun #2 – Vaping with Friends (Or Alone. Anytime. Really.)

Do you know what a vape is? It’s not just an electronic cigarette – it’s both a set of personal habits and a social scene. I’ve seen people vaping in the wild, like in Taco Bell parking lots (true story), and the number of people vaping has been growing for years, even without being cool. But with vaping, it’s possible to have friends over to your house and get drunk – all without needing to buy liquor or wait in lines at the bar.

For example, Galaxy Treats has some of the best HHC disposables; why not stock up on a few packs and give them out at the end of the night? It also gives you a better excuse to take your time and get ready instead of rushing at the last minute as well as that, throw in a pack of wipes too.

Fun #3 – Join a Zumba class at your local YMCA.

If you like taking walks, bring a friend or your dog (or cat, let’s be fair), and do it in the evening. Use the time to catch up on each other’s lives. You’ll exercise, like a Zumba class at home, and you’ll come back refreshed and relaxed. Mental Health in the 2020’s is vital.

Fun #4 – Host a Movie or TV Show at Home or Online

If you have a streaming service that allows you to begin or join a “Watch Party” like Disney+ and HULU, you and invite friends and family close by or around the world, to watch the best new Sci-Fi TV Show taking the world by storm, The Orville: New Horizons (3 seasons so far and a 100% rating from Rotten Tomato!). Order some pizzas or make veggie trays for everyone to snack on. You can also make and freeze your favorite cocktails ahead of time. Pop them in the freezer, and you’ll be all ready.

If you want to go the extra mile, make popcorn garlands with your kids and hang them around the house. It will add fun to the party, and your guests will love it!

Fun #5 – Hold a Neighborhood Garage Sale. (really?)

Having a garage sale is both a practical and social endeavor. When your sale is finished, you will have gotten rid of all the things you don’t need, and you will have made some money to spend on the things you need!

To have a successful garage sale, you need to work with your neighbors to ensure they don’t hold a sale at the same time you do. Also, give people enough notice before your sale. You don’t want them to miss out on the things you try to get rid of.

Rebecca Black Fun Friday

When you can have fun, at home or at a friend’s home, it’s time to take advantage of that.  For myself, there is nothing like sitting back (either inside or outside) with a brand-new disposable vape and putting on some of my favorite music, and zone out on a Fun Friday (did this originate in 2011 with Rebecca Black?)

At the End of the Day

Let’s be honest. With inflation at record levels all over the world, threats of war on both sides of the globe, things are not looking like not much “fun” at all. But this is the time when stepping outside the world’s problem, even if for a single night, can make a world of difference to your own mental health.

No matter what you decide to do, just remember; there are things you can do to make the world a better place, and some that are out of your hands. More importantly, unless you take care of yourself first, you won’t be helping anyone with anything.

The worst thing you can do is nothing. Doing nothing invites depression, anxiety, or worse. Fun Friday might sound silly, but perhaps being silly is just what’s needed. So watch The Orville, relax with an HHC disposable, dance around the house, listen to music, loudly, or whatever it is that will help you distance yourself from the insanity of an insane world.

Take care of yourself, and your loved one… and maybe even some neighbors 😉
