I’m no longer easily swayed when it comes to vaping devices. Whether it’s a new box mod, sub-ohm tank, or high tech boards, what matters to me are two things; performance and durability. Sure, good looks, a large display, lots of power, and some sizzle are important as well, but without top-notch performance and a sense that my hard-earned money is being well spent, I’m not going to use it beyond the review period. As for the Vaporesso Revenger Kit, Revenger Kit Here I’ve been using it every day, weeks after the review period ended. This is, right now, my favorite mod and tank combination.

Omni 2.0 Board Chipset

If you’ve read some of my previous reviews in these pages you know I’m not a regular user of Temperature Control/Sensing technology, and that I prefer Variable Wattage and Kanthal or Ceramic coils. That said, there is more to the latest Vaporesso Board than TC. The new Omni 2.0 board is a big improvement over an already very good board.

The new OMNI Board 2.0 chipset gives the Vaporesso Revenger 220W TC Box Mod a wattage range of 5W to 220W, a voltage range of 0V to 8.5V, a coil resistance range of 0.05 to 5.0-ohm, and more output modes than ever.

Three of the six output modes are; Customized Curve of Wattage (CCW), Customized Curve of Temperature (CCT), and Smart VW, giving the Revenger box mod such functional versatility that its only competition today is the Cartel Revenant 160W mod, which houses the same Vaporesso OMNI 2.0 Board.

I’ve used the Smart VW often, and it automatically recommends the ideal wattage based on the resistance and type of coil, and most of the time Smart VW picks the right wattage each time. It’s only when I’m using a MAXVG (90%+ VG) that I find I need to push up the wattage a little.

The Customized Curve of Wattage (CCW) works by Customizing the Wattage Output by 1-Second Increments, as well as Customize the Ramp Up time by 0.5 Second Increments.

Bypass mode turns the Revenger box mod into a mechanical mod, sending direct voltage from the batteries to the atomizer. While not something I personally use, it is there should you want it.

The TC mode with the Revenger allows the user the full complement of heating materials, and allows an easy to control wattage setting with temperature control.  Other functions under TC Mode include Ni200 Nickel Support, Titanium Support, SS316 Support, plus Customized Curve of Temperature (CCT), and Customize Temperature Output Over Time. Users has access to full TCR Mode, a temperature range of 200 to 600 Degrees Fahrenheit, and an Atomizer Lock. (pushing past the highest temperature setting brings the user into Celsius from Fahrenheit, or Fahrenheit to Celsius.

With the OMNI 2.0 Board the user can apply firmware upgrades and charge the cells in the mod at 2.5A. Charging at 2.5A means a very fast recharge, and includes an equalizing charge system and USB input protection.

The Revenger 220W TC box mod measures 45mm by 89mm by 28mm, and  is powered by two 18650 batteries (sold separately) which is accessed through the magnetized battery door that has such a close-cropped tolerance you may not know where to look to remove the battery cover. The strong magnetic door attaches perfectly, and inserting the cells, one up and one down, is smooth and clean. The user won’t be fighting with the compartment to put the batteries in or remove them. There isn’t a battery ribbon to assist in removing the batteries because it doesn’t need one.

The Revenger 220W Box Mod is constructed to integrate Vaporesso’s cutting-edge design features, including using a center places 510-connector, and uses an In-Mould Labeling (IML) injection system on top the durable aluminum alloy shell. The Revenger chassis possesses a polished and streamlined design, with ergonomic contours and an ultra-modern shape with beautiful accents.  The result is one of the best-looking mods on the market. The new NRG Sub-Ohm tank, included in the Kit version, matches the Revenger body so well that after a while it feels a little “off” to use any other tank on the body

The 0.96-inch OLED screen displays all the essential information the user could want, including: wattage/temperature, atomizer resistance, and individual battery life icons. The display can be set to show a Real-Time Clock (RTC) display. The display screen disappears into the panel when not in use, giving the Revenger a unique screen-less look.

Vaporesso’s NRG Sub-Ohm Tank is the latest high performance Sub-Ohm tank that offers a 5mL e-juice capacity, plus a Slide-n-Fill top-fill design that will remind you of the SMOK TFV8 hinge-top, but smoother and easier to access, plus an ultra-wide 14mm Delrin mesh-type Drip Tip. The quality of the NRG is every bit as good as any SMOK TFV8 or TFV12 tank.

The NRG Sub-Ohm Tank has dual adjustable bottom airflow that can be fully closed off, along with an extra heating insulation layer that allows for high wattage vaping with excellent heat dissipation properties.

The Vaporesso NRG Sub-Ohm tank brings along a new set of GT Cores (coil heads). The GT Cores have a wide range of coil types with traditional cotton and the Vaporesso signature cCell Ceramic.

Included in the Vaporesso Revenger Kit is the 0.15ohm GT 8 Core offering a maximum wattage of 110W, along with a 0.15ohm GT 4 Core with a range of 30 to 60W. Both coil heads offer Direct Lung vaping with exceptional flavor and enormous clouds of vapor. With the special mesh protection under the drip tip, there has been zero spit-back during the few hundred hours of vaping.

I’ve been a big fan of Vaporesso since the first cCell tank and coil. Calling a device the “flagship” is a big deal, and is sometimes used for nothing more than marketing; but here, flagship is appropriate. The Revenger box mod and NRG sub-ohm are both new flagship devices from this marvelous company.

With its six output modes, the powerful OMNI Board 2.0 brings a new level of performance vaping to the mainstream marketplace, and the Revenger’s innovative body styling along with the high-performance NRG tank and coils, the Vaporesso Revenger 220W TC Starter Kit deserves to be seriously considered as your next box mod and tank.

As of now, I own just one Vaporesso Revenger Kit. I have since ordered 10x packs of the GT 8 Core and GT 4 Core coil heads. The Revenger Kit is available in Red, Blue and Black, but I have no doubt that new colors will be arriving shortly. This limited number of colors is the only reason I don’t own more kits, or at least more NRG tanks. Like its closest competitor, the SMOK Alien 220W TC Box Mod Kit, the Revenger Kit is very popular among Vapers looking for an excellent kit at an affordable price. $69.99 is what Element Vape is selling it for, and with so much usage under my belt I can tell you that it is worth more than its selling price.

My hands never tire of holding onto the Revenger mod, and refilling the tank is incredibly easy and fast. With no spit-back issues, and never more than lukewarm at any wattage, the Revenger is, more often than not, my all-day mod. After telling my brother about the Revenger he purchased one through Element Vape and tells me daily how much he loves “the damn thing”. And my brother is hard to please, always picking apart many of the devices I own and use. This time, he loves the Revenger and the NRG tank as much as I do.

Sticking the Revenger/NRG in my pocket while I’m out and about, dropping it in the console of my car, tossing it on the bed at night, and otherwise handling it as I would most modestly priced mods, this is the only box mod and tank that has not shown any wear and tear after a month of heavy usage.

For its superb performance, both the Revenger and NRG tank, for its modern design, its durability, for its accuracy, for its value, and most of all, for all the ways the Revenger Kit comes together into a seamless piece of awesome, the Vaporesso Revenger Kit receives my score of:
