Intro and Specs for the Sigelei eTINY Plus – Though it looks like the United States is finally making a move to “make America smoke again,” If you’ve switched from the analogs like I have you know the name Sigelei is synonymous with quality. I’ve always appreciated their ethos of development with their products. Where other companies are constantly trying to reinvent the vape wheel, Sigelei is consistently building and updating upon what they started with. Constantly asking the dreaded interview question: What are some of your opportunities for improvement? This time, they answer with the eTINY PLUS kit.

The “Official” Description

The Sigelei eTINY PLUS MTL Starter Kit is a phenomenal compact vape kit, implementing an integrated 800mAh rechargeable battery, plug ‘n’ play coil installation system, and three different types of coil options for the ultimate MTL experience!

Constructed from durable zinc and aluminum alloy, the Sigelei eTiny Plus Starter Kit integrates an 800mAh rechargeable battery safely tucked away into the chassis construction, providing a classy look with ergonomic operations.

The included eTINY 2 Tank implements a compact 17.5mm diameter chassis with 2mL capacity of today’s popular e-liquids. The internal coil structure utilizes a plug ‘n’ play coil installation system that is easy to use and access, simply pulling and reinserting the new atomizer head at the top.

Impressions/Aesthetics

Despite knowing what I know about Sigelei, when I first plucked this device from its packaging I thought: “Here we go again, another MTL that’s gonna over-promise and under deliver.” It might have been the flimsy, one-piece paper box, and cheap plastic container the device was cradled in, which my subconscious was quickly to pass a harsh judgment upon.

Fortunately, the haze began to clear once the vapor started to gather. Perhaps, a tinge of excitement from an MTL device? Let’s find out if the feeling persists.

The eTINY PLUS hexagon shaped mod is encased in a durable zinc-aluminum alloy shell. Finished with an overall soft-touch matte finish. The eTINY PLUS II stainless steel tank has an identical, but black matte finish. With a color-coordinated, knurled adjustable airflow ring. A clicky, elongated hexagon shaped fire button compliments the shape of the mod itself. Visually the mod has a kind of classic-stealth-modern appeal happening here.

Unfortunately all those good vibes kind of dulled when I picked it up to vape. The metallic casing feels great until you get your thumb around the fire button. The business side of the mod containing the fire and adjustment buttons is made of a low-cost plastic. Had this been the same alloy finish I wouldn’t be deducting points here. Not a good choice, even if there was cost-cutting in mind.

Some Thoughts on the eTINY Plus Tank and Coils

The stainless-steel tank features a convenient top-fill design with a bottom airflow control ring. Stepped down design allows for half sized airflow adjustments. For how small the airflow holes are I wouldn’t have thought this function to be necessary- but I stand corrected. Using the supplied M-2 coils with the recommended 1/2 step adjustment I actually got better flavor and vapor out of these little coils. This WAS a good move.

The coils are of the plug and play variety. Which means they’re super easy to change when the time comes. It’s as simple as unscrewing the base of the tank, plucking out the coil, popping in a new one and that’s it. It’s about as easy as it gets when changing coils out in tanks these days. Plus, there’s a great fit and finish with the machined components, and I haven’t experienced any leaking at all from the last three weeks of use.

But overall, I wasn’t that impressed with the performance of the coils at first. The flavor was rather muted and vapor production wasn’t what I was hoping from an MTL device. There is a little bit of a break in period when you first start using them. It takes about 20 or so puffs before they really being working well. Although even at their best the flavors weren’t as great as I had hoped. Nothing bad but nothing that great – let’s call it mediocre.

Vaping the Sigelei eTINY Plus

Like I’ve said I like the look of the tank with the matte black finish. The top fill design, and adjustable airflow both function great for such a little device. I realize that Sigelei enclosed the glass section of the tank with a stainless-steel casing to protect it. Maybe a little too much.

The diamond shape view port is convenient for checking in on the level of E-liquid you have left. However, I’d like it that much more if it was just a little bigger so you can see the information on the coil through the view port. Not a deal breaker by any means just wish it were a little larger.

Rather than going into some speculative scenario about the battery and how much use can be gleaned from it. I’ve done us all a favor and calculated the precise amount of puffs you can expect from a fully charged battery. Based on the following info you can adapt it to your vaping style and amount:

The 800mAh battery capacity is actually a down grade from the original eTINY which had a larger capacity of 100mAh. There is also an upgraded version of the mod currently being offered as the eTINY PLUS II which boast a 1,200mAh capacity.

Additionally the mod doesn’t have passthrough charging capabilities. That could be a con for those of us who are forgetful and can’t wait till the battery is recharged before having another vape. Granted the 800mAh battery recharges rather quickly so you’re not waiting too long before your back to full capacity.

– Plastic components feel low budget

– Mediocre flavor from coils

All in all the eTINY PLUS is an affordable entry-level option for MTL vapers or those looking to transition from smoking. The simple plug ‘n’ play coil installation, compact design makes for plain and simple to use device. However, the questionable durability, plastic components and limited battery capacity may require more charging depending on your use. In which case, you might want to upgrade to a different MTL kit so you can vape more and charge less.
