Flavor fiends, time to get excited – your new favorite sub-ohm tank has arrived. The HorizonTech Falcon King is the latest in the Falcon series, and in my opinion, it’s far and away the best one yet. It’s also the best-looking, and best-performing sub-ohm tank of the Falcon series, as well. So, if you’re a fan, you can probably stop reading and go buy this right now.

HorizonTech Falcon King Sub-Ohm Tank Review

If you’re not familiar with HorizonTech’s tanks, they’ve long been an innovator in creating simple, but effective new ways to wick e-liquid to the coil, and their latest mesh offerings continue the trend in grand fashion, blending the mesh we know and love with bamboo fiber blend cotton. This results in smooth-wicking, pure flavor performance unmatched by many tanks on the market.

Let’s see some of what our friends at Element Vape had to say about the Falcon King…

The Horizon FALCON KING Mesh Sub-Ohm Tank truly expands the phenomenal Falcon mesh series, deploying a brand-new exterior design overhaul with beautiful metal construction and intricate resin drip tip while introducing a new Falcon M-Dual & M1+ Mesh Coils.

The Falcon King incorporates cross-compatibility with F1, F2, F3, M1, M2, and M-Triple Coils, providing tremendous cost-savings for Horizon loyalists.

At this point in the sub-ohm tank game, there isn’t much they can add (short of bottle openers and coin purses) that really affect the look and feel. But the 6mL capacity Falcon King is a really sharp atomizer, with clean machining and smooth threading, along with some nice resin accents to really make it pop. I was fortunate enough to receive two of them, and both the red/silver and multicolor variants were equally attractive.

(I used to loathe the “oil slick” effect of those multicolor devices, but I’ve grown to love the way they work with just about any mod.)

I should also mention how much I liked the spring-loaded, button-activated top-fill cap. Though there’s nothing unique about these types of setups, the Falcon King cap has a satisfying, reassuring “snap” that closes off the top snugly. Even with the quick action of the button, I never once had it open in a jeans pocket.

I’m not sure if it’s related, but I also didn’t experience any leaking or condensation near the bottom airflow control ring. It’s pretty clear the Falcon King creates a solid vacuum that staves off unwanted moisture.

I started this piece commenting on flavor, and I have to continue that message here. Because the Falcon King is laser-focused on delivering top-flight flavor, thanks to fantastic new additions to the company’s coil arsenal, as well as some nifty airflow that direct things through the coil and up the short chimney, for unparalleled taste.

Though I’m not sure I could detect the flavor benefits of bamboo, I could definitely detect the wicking benefits. Within seconds of filling the tank with a multi-layered e-liquid, the Falcon King was delivering on its promise. No break-in period, no nonsense, no waiting. Immediate enjoyment, that only gets better as the coil settles into place.

In the box, you’ll get the following:

  • M1 Mesh Coil – 0.16-ohm mesh coil. (~75 watts)
  • M Dual Coil – 0.38-ohm mesh coils. (~80+ watts)

Both coils proved to not only be instantly flavorful, but also long-lasting, giving me a very respectable six days of high-performance (and high-wattage) vaping, before finally starting to fade at the one-week mark. Of the two, I lean slightly (and I mean slightly) toward the higher-resistance dual coil for flavor and vapor performance, but the difference is negligible at best – both did an amazing job.

Though we’ve seen sub-ohm coils make a lot of strides in this department, it’s usually at the expense of flavor. And I’ll take six days of amazing taste over two weeks of middling experiences anytime. Maybe the coils are a little thirsty for my tastes, but the end justifies the means.

Given HorizonTech’s pedigree, I imagine they’re working on longer-lasting, slightly more frugal mesh coils as we speak, so this is likely to get better as time goes on. (Just keep making them cross-compatible, like you have so far!)

Vaping the HorizonTech Falcon King

Pure pleasure, kids. That’s really all I need to say, even if my editor demands a little more exposition. But for the last few weeks, all I’ve done is enjoy sampling some of my favorite juices like it was the first time I was tasting them. Even the most ridiculously layered liquids are given new life, thanks to some of the cleanest, purest flavor output seen today.

I have a complex liquid that combines (I kid you not) six primary flavors – toffee, banana, custard, hazelnut, chocolate and bourbon barrel essences – and EACH of them came through on every inhale. From subtle to brazen, this is what the liquid creators intended when first concocting this heady combo, and I think they’d be proud of the results in the Falcon King. This is the reason RDA enthusiasts prefer their form of vaping, but it’s safe to say the sub-ohm tank community has closed the gap considerably.

And while it’s clear that the Falcon King is a flavor-first type of tank, but those seeking thick, abundant vapor production aren’t going to be left out in the cold, either. Using both coils at their recommended wattages, I managed to fog up my office pretty good, with minimal effort.

Pros:

– Flavor, mannnnnn

– Long-lasting, cross-compatible coil system

– Outstanding locking top-fill cap

Cons:

– Would love a LITTLE more than 6mL capacity

– Very thirsty coils

– They don’t hug you back

Spinfuel VAPE Recommendation and Score

Here’s your one-line recommendation: Buy the HorizonTech Falcon King sub-ohm tank. Run, do not walk to your local vape shop. (Or even better, pop over to Element Vape’s Sub-Ohm Tank section and wait patiently for it to arrive.) There aren’t many vape tanks that deliver this much enjoyment with so few negatives along the way. And even fewer come from companies we trust as much as HorizonTech. Absolutely essential sub-ohm vaping.
