Today marks a significant day for Spinfuel eMagazine and the e-liquid brands we review. We are proud to announce the inaugural Spinfuel E-Liquid Choice Awards. Last year’s “Best Of” Awards laid the groundwork, but we’ve refined our approach to better reflect our objectives. Moving forward, these accolades will officially be known as the Spinfuel E-Liquid Choice Awards.
What Are The Spinfuel Choice Awards?
The Spinfuel Choice Awards distinguish themselves from typical “best of” accolades found across various publications. This distinction prompted our name change. Our awards truly emphasize choice – specifically, the personal choices of our experienced reviewers. As we’ve often discussed in our editorials and e-liquid reviews, taste is inherently subjective. What one individual finds exceptional, another might not. Therefore, Spinfuel eMagazine refrains from declaring any e-liquid as definitively “the best,” recognizing the impossibility and inappropriateness of such a claim.
Eligibility for the Choice Awards
To be eligible for the Spinfuel E-Liquid Choice Awards, a brand must meet two primary criteria:
- The e-liquid brand must have had at least three distinct e-liquid lines thoroughly reviewed by Spinfuel eMagazine prior to the awards announcement.
- All four Spinfuel reviewers must have participated in the review process for these lines.
- The brand’s cumulative average score across all reviewed lines must be 4.0 or higher.
It is crucial to understand that these awards recognize the brand as a whole, not individual e-liquid flavors. Our aim is to honor brands that consistently deliver high-quality e-liquid lines across their offerings, reflecting overall excellence and earning our Choice Awards.
Our Selection Process
Our selection process for the Choice Awards is built upon transparency and our established review methodology. For every e-liquid line reviewed, each of our four reviewers assigns an average score for each individual flavor. These individual scores are then collectively averaged to determine the overall score for the e-liquid line.
Previously, with our “Best Of” awards, determining a single winner, especially among similarly scored brands, presented challenges. The Choice Awards simplify this. Any brand that successfully meets the outlined eligibility criteria automatically receives a Spinfuel E-Liquid Choice Award. There is no cap on the number of winners; if numerous brands demonstrate consistent quality, they will all be recognized.
Award Categories
The Spinfuel E-Liquid Choice Awards do not feature specific categories such as “Best Fruit,” “Best Tobacco,” “Best Candy,” or “Best Dessert.” Our philosophy is to acknowledge brands that consistently produce outstanding e-liquid lines, irrespective of flavor profiles. A brand might excel equally in a tobacco line as it does in a fruit line. Compartmentalizing their achievements would undermine recognition of their broad consistency and overall excellence across diverse flavor offerings. These awards celebrate comprehensive quality.
Future of the Spinfuel E-Liquid Choice Awards
While the 2014 Spinfuel E-Liquid Choice Awards will be presented once this year, our intention is to transition to a quarterly award schedule going forward, issuing awards four times annually. This increased frequency aims to further incentivize e-liquid brands to consistently deliver their highest quality products to the public.
We are committed to maintaining complete transparency in both our review processes and award methodologies. Brands will always have a clear understanding of the criteria required to earn a Spinfuel E-Liquid Choice Award. Our ultimate goal is to ensure our readers have access to the finest e-liquids available, while simultaneously encouraging excellence from the brands we review. The Spinfuel Choice Awards serve as a vital tool in achieving both objectives.
