Lost Vape Drone BF Bottom Feeder Squonker Preview
What to Expect:
The Lost Vape Drone BF Bottom Feeder Squonker ($150) has the heart of the Evolv DNA250. The Lost Vape design team has created what looks to be another fantastic great squonk box based on, or at least inspired by, the Lost Vape Triade chassis. However, the Lost Vape Drone is a Dual 18650 box, not the 3x cell setup we see in the Triade.
Using a Dual 18650 power source the Lost Vape Drone BF throttled down the Evolv DNA250 to a still powerful 166W. We suspect the Drone to have what’s known as the Evolv DNA 167, a special modified version of the DNA250.
Following the successful Triade box mod, with its poly-angular frame, the Lost Vape Drone adds futuristic lines accents and an stylish combination of high-end materials for an aesthetic that our own Julia will most assuredly address in a future “Vaping Aesthetics” column.
The Lost Vape Drone BF has, in the simplest terms, located the squonk bottle in the same position the Triade would place its 3rd 18650 battery. Access to the squonk bottle is through the bottom of the chassis. CLICK FOR LARGER IMAGE
Like the Triade, the magnetized battery door lifts off from the back, where the user inserts the dual high-amp (25A and above) 18650 batteries.
The new Drone includes a centered 510 connection, allowing for a wide range of atomizer sizes without the worry of over-hang.
The Drone BF utilizes Evolv’s DNA 250 Chipset, with a wattage range of 1W to 167W, with an amazing 97% output efficiency rating. Along with the 1W to 167W range, the modified DNA250 chipset features a full temperature control suite with the usual suspects of heating elements.
As with every Evolv DNA mod, the Escribe software gives every user outstanding control and customization. The Lost Vape Drone Bottom Feeding Squonker DNA166 TC Box Mod looks to be another state-of-the-art mod for power enthusiasts and advanced users.
No RDA?
It will be interesting to work with the Lost Vape Drone in our upcoming review for many reasons, but
since the Lost Vape Drone does not include the customary Squonk-enabled RDA, it will be especially interesting to see which RDA works best with this new Squonker.
Spinfuel VAPE expects our shipment of the Lost Vape Drone by the third week of March. We’ll need a week to 10 days to truly understand the device and put it through the usual paces. Expect an in-depth, accurate, and forthcoming review by April 4th.
