The announcement of a new Vaporesso box mod, offering both 26650 and 18650 battery compatibility, powered by the advanced OMNI board, and competitively priced, immediately captured our attention. Vaporesso products have historically offered a mixed experience; while the unique design and performance of the Vaporesso Target were highly regarded, the Veco One Plus presented challenges with leakage and excessive airflow for MTL coils.
Despite this varied past, the Vaporesso Nebula TC Box Mod distinguishes itself significantly. This 100W device, accommodating dual cell types, represents, in our assessment, Vaporesso’s most accomplished box mod to date. Let’s delve into the features that elevate the Nebula.

The Vaporesso Nebula in Detail
As previously noted, the Vaporesso Nebula operates at either 80W or 100W, contingent on the battery type employed. When utilizing an 18650 battery with the provided sleeve, the maximum power output is 80W. Opting for a 26650 battery elevates the maximum output to 100W. We consistently recommend using a dedicated 26650 battery for optimal performance in any compatible device. For competitive pricing on batteries, refer to IMRBatteries.

The battery compartment door employs an unconventional design, wrapping around three sides of the Nebula, and is secured by two robust magnets. While initially requiring a slight knack for removal and replacement, the process quickly becomes intuitive with practice. The powerful magnetic hold ensures the door remains securely fastened, eliminating concerns about accidental detachment.
At the heart of the Nebula is Vaporesso’s flagship OMNI board chipset. As detailed in our previous Vaporesso reviews and dedicated OMNI board overview, this chipset delivers an extensive array of features and comprehensive safety protections. It encompasses all standard safety measures alongside numerous advanced functionalities.
Key features include:
- Smart VW (Variable Wattage): The device intelligently suggests an optimal wattage output for the installed coil.
- CCW (Customized Curve of Wattage): Allows users to precisely tailor the wattage output curve over the first five seconds of each draw.
- CCT (Customized Curve of Temperature): Similar to CCW, this feature enables customization of the temperature output curve during the initial five seconds of a draw.
- Bypass Mode: Transforms the Nebula into an unregulated “mech mod,” delivering the battery’s full power directly to the coil.
- TCR (Temperature Coefficient of Resistance): Provides advanced temperature control users with the capability to fine-tune the TCR for specific wire types.

Menu navigation on the OMNI board is straightforward. Three clicks of the firing button lock the adjustment buttons, while five clicks access the main menu. Users can then utilize the UP/DOWN buttons to select a mode and the firing button to confirm. Consistent with contemporary box mods, the Nebula supports micro-USB for both battery charging and future firmware updates.
Performance
Our performance evaluation of the Vaporesso Nebula TC Box Mod involved extensive testing with two prominent sub-ohm tanks: the Sense Herakles Pro and the Vaporesso NRG Tank. We utilized a 26650 battery from IMRBrands.com, and both tanks were equipped with various coil types, including Clapton, Stainless Steel, and Ni200 (NiFe for the NRG).
Each tank underwent three full days of rigorous testing, involving an average of 3-4 refills daily and two battery changes per day.
Initial testing commenced with the Sense Herakles Pro (Clapton Coil) in Smart VW mode. The Nebula intelligently recommended 60W, a setting which delivered exceptional vapor production and flavor quality. Firing was instantaneous, contributing to an overall flawless vaping experience. Progressing to 100W with the 26650 battery, the Nebula consistently maintained its immediate response and stable power delivery across the entire wattage range. From 5W to 100W, the Nebula proved both reliable and robust.
Our only minor observation was that continuous vaping at 80W or higher can lead to a comparatively faster depletion of the 26650 battery’s charge.
Temperature Control (TC) performance was equally commendable. Utilizing a Stainless Steel coil with the Sense Herakles Pro and a NiFe coil with the Vaporesso NRG Tank, the Nebula provided precise and consistent temperature regulation, entirely preventing dry hits. While the TCR mode, as expected, required some fine-tuning and experimentation, it ultimately allowed for a highly customized and desired vape experience. For those new to TC vaping, the pre-programmed settings for Stainless Steel, Nickel, and Titanium are exceptionally well-calibrated and will deliver an excellent experience. The TCR, CCT, and CCW modes are primarily designed for advanced users seeking granular control over their vaping parameters.
Conclusion
The Vaporesso Nebula TC Box Mod stands out as an exceptional hardware offering from Vaporesso. Its versatility in accommodating both 18650 and 26650 batteries, coupled with the sophisticated OMNI board chipset, delivers a performance profile that will thoroughly satisfy vapers seeking a premium box mod. The design is aesthetically pleasing, and its ergonomic form factor provides a comfortable in-hand feel. Considering its competitive price point, the Nebula represents an outstanding value proposition.
