The asMODus Minikin 3S is the 2019 upgrade to the popular Asmodus Minikin 3. The new Minikin 3S is a Starter Kit that comes with a new sub-ohm tank called the Viento. If you’ve been a fan of the Minikin line you know what to expect. This device is packed with new features while still maintaining the same shape and size.
There are some nice upgrades, especially in the firmware area, but the big question is whether it’s enough to encourage current Minikin 3 users to upgrade. Let’s dive in and see what the Minikin 3S Starter Kit is all about.
What’s in the Box?
- Minikin 3S Mod
- Viento Sub-Ohm Tank
- 2x 0.15ohm Mesh Coils
- Spare Glass
- Spare O-Rings
- Type-C USB Cable
- Instruction Manual
First Impressions of the Minikin 3S
The Minikin 3S comes with a carbon fiber inlay instead of the traditional metal body that previous versions had. This carbon fiber look gives the mod a sleeker look and a nice texture and grip. The display screen is a full-color touch screen. The screen is clear and vibrant, even in daylight. Navigation is straightforward and easy to use. I was able to navigate the menu with ease.
The firmware on the Minikin 3S is upgradable (unlike past models), which is a much-needed addition to this line. If you’re a fan of wireless charging, you’ll be happy to know the Minikin 3S is compatible with the wireless charging pad (sold separately). I really like the carbon fiber look that asMODus has given the Minikin 3S. It makes the device look like a much more expensive mod than it is. But, I am a bit perplexed why asMODus changed the numbering system. I would have expected a Minikin 4. The 3S is a bit strange.

asMODus Viento Tank
The Viento Sub-Ohm Tank has a 3.5mL capacity and comes with 2, 0.15ohm mesh coils. It’s also compatible with SMOK Baby Beast coils. The Viento has a removable 810 delrin wide bore drip tip, top-fill and triple adjustable bottom airflow. It also includes an optional extended glass tube that brings the capacity up to 5mL.
It’s important to note that the Viento is a high wattage tank, so be prepared for some serious vapor production. The flavor production is decent, but not as good as some other tanks on the market.

Minikin 3S Performance
The Minikin 3S performs well in both wattage and temperature control modes. It’s quick to fire and the curves mode lets you customize your vape experience. The haptic feedback is a nice addition, especially if you’re used to older mods without this feature. The battery life is decent, but it really depends on the wattage you’re using. At 80W, I was able to get a full day of vaping out of two 18650 batteries.
The new chip, the GX-200-UTC, is an upgrade over the previous chip. I found the power delivery to be consistent and accurate. The temperature control is also very precise, making it a great option for those who prefer TC vaping.
My Experience
The Minikin 3S is a solid device. The carbon fiber design is a definite improvement and gives it a more premium feel. The touchscreen is responsive and easy to use, and the new firmware updateability is a huge plus. Vaping with the Viento tank at 80-90W delivered a warm, flavorful vape with plenty of clouds. I also tried it with some of my own tanks, and it performed admirably across the board.
The ability to charge via USB-C is also a welcome change. I appreciate the variety of protection features, which give me peace of mind when using the device. The wireless charging capability is a nice bonus, though I didn’t test it as I don’t own the charging pad.
asMODus Minikin 3S Starter Kit Review — Conclusion and Grades
Overall, the asMODus Minikin 3S Starter Kit is a great option for both new and experienced vapers. It offers solid performance, a premium look, and a user-friendly interface. While the Viento tank is decent, the star of the show is definitely the Minikin 3S mod itself. If you’re looking for a powerful and stylish dual-18650 mod, this is definitely one to consider.
For those who already own a Minikin 3, the upgrade might not be entirely necessary unless you really want the carbon fiber look, wireless charging, or firmware updates. However, as a complete starter kit, it’s a strong contender.
