The Lost Vape TRIADE DNA250 Box Mod is the third Lost Vape box mod featuring three 18650 batteries. The first was the TRIADE DNA200, followed quickly by the Lost Vape THERION DNA75. It only makes sense that the TRIADE DNA250 follows a few short months later. Lost Vape has been very busy this year. The Lost Vape TRIADE DNA250 is the latest in their excellent line of DNA-powered devices.
The Lost Vape TRIADE DNA250 is a high-end device built for performance and safety. It features a die cast zinc alloy body, a magnetized battery cover that can be customized with various colors and materials, and a spring-loaded nickel plated brass 510-connector. Despite its capacity for three 18650 cells, the TRIADE DNA250 is quite comfortable to hold. Weighing in at 300g without batteries, this mod has some heft to it, but it doesn’t feel cumbersome.

General Usage and Ergonomics
The Triade DNA250’s body is a die cast Zinc Alloy and feels very solid. All edges are smooth and rounded, making it comfortable to hold and use.
While some 3-battery mods are bulky and rectangular, Lost Vape has done a marvelous job designing an ergonomic shape for the Triade DNA250. The back cover is held in place by two magnets, one at the top and one at the bottom, and the cover itself is snug and fits very well. The interior of the battery bay is clean and well-built.
The battery bay has a ribbon for easy battery removal, and the battery polarity indicators are bright white, clear, and visible. There’s no confusion on which way the batteries should go. Inside the battery bay, we find the serial number and the USB port. The USB port is for Evolv’s Escribe software, and for firmware updates only, not for charging. There is a warning sticker (removable) inside the battery bay that states this explicitly.
The 510-connector is Nickel Plated Brass and is spring-loaded. This assures a firm and flush connection with any atomizers, tanks, or RDAs. Up to 25mm diameter atomizers will sit flush on the Triade DNA250. The fire button and adjustment buttons (up/down) are clicky and responsive. The 0.91” OLED screen is bright and clear.
DNA250 Chip Performance and Evolv’s Escribe
The Lost Vape TRIADE DNA250 is, like all DNA-powered mods, a very accurate device. The DNA250 chipset is the first Evolv chipset to include a 2A fast charger, and it is capable of up to 250W. The new chip comes with additional safety features, including cell-by-cell monitoring, reverse polarity protection, and short circuit protection. The Triade DNA250 fires instantly, and it provides a smooth, consistent vape in all modes. No matter what the settings, the Triade DNA250 performs flawlessly.
The Triade DNA250 uses three 18650 batteries in series. The Mod outputs up to 55A in regulated power mode, and 25A in temperature control mode. It supports atomizer resistances down to 0.05Ω in temperature control mode, and 0.1Ω in regular power mode. For safety and performance, we recommend using high-amp 18650 batteries from trusted brands, with a Continuous Discharge Rate of 25A or higher.
One of the most valuable aspects of any DNA-powered device is the Evolv Escribe software. This software allows the user to fully customize their device, from temperature control profiles for different wire types to the look and feel of the OLED screen (customizing fonts, color, background, etc.). Escribe also allows the user to run diagnostic reports on the device, to make sure it’s performing at its peak.
Comparing to Lost Vape’s Other DNA Mods
For Lost Vape TRIADE DNA200 owners, the main differences are the DNA250 chip, the 2A charging capacity, and the output of 250W (vs. 200W). If you own the TRIADE DNA200, the upgrade is nice, but not absolutely necessary. Performance with the DNA200 is also excellent. If you’re deciding between the DNA200 and the DNA250, I would recommend the DNA250 simply for the newer chip and higher wattage capacity.
The Lost Vape THERION DNA75 is a wonderful DNA75-powered device. It uses two 18650 batteries and is limited to 75W output. It’s also much smaller and lighter, making it ideal for those that want a smaller device. If you don’t need the extra power, or the extra battery life, the THERION DNA75 is an excellent choice. Both devices are premium, high-quality, and built for performance.
Temperature Control and User Experience
Temperature Control has always been an area that Evolv excels at. The DNA250 is no different. Setting up a new TC profile for different wire types is very easy with Escribe, or you can download profiles from the internet and upload them to the device. Most of the popular wire types are pre-loaded into the Triade DNA250, so for many vapers, no customization is needed. For those that want to dive deeper, Escribe is the tool you want to use.
The Triade DNA250 performs like a dream in all modes. The fire button is perfectly placed, the screen is bright and clear, and the overall ergonomics are excellent. The device feels good in the hand and is comfortable to use. Everything about the Lost Vape TRIADE DNA250 screams “premium.”
Firmware and Future-Proofing
Lost Vape has included a future-proof firmware, giving it the ability to be upgraded as Evolv releases new firmware. This means that as Evolv adds new features, or improves existing ones, the Triade DNA250 can be updated to include these new features. This is a huge benefit for a device that costs $150.
The Bottom Line
The Lost Vape TRIADE DNA250 is a fantastic device. It’s built for performance, comfort, and safety. The DNA250 chip is arguably the best chip on the market, and Lost Vape has done an excellent job implementing it into a beautiful, ergonomic chassis. If you’re looking for a high-end, 3-battery, DNA-powered device, the Triade DNA250 is an excellent choice.
