The Advanced Personal Vaporizer (APV) market constantly introduces innovative devices, and Kamry has made a significant entry with the K101 Telescopic Mechanical Mod. Designed to appeal to both novice and experienced vapers, the K101 offers versatile battery compatibility, supporting 18650, 18500, and 18350 cells. A notable inclusion is a competent Rebuildable Drip Atomizer (RDA), a generous bonus for a device in this category. After extensive testing over the past two weeks, we present our comprehensive review of the Kamry K101.
Design and Build Quality
The Kamry K101 stands out with its distinctive aesthetic, making it one of the most uniquely designed APVs we’ve encountered. Our review unit, the ‘rainbow’ variant, showcases a gradient of metallic hues including silver, purple, blue, green, and gold from top to bottom. The K101 is also available in classic black, silver, blue, and red finishes. The included RDA perfectly matches the mod’s color scheme, a thoughtful touch that enhances its overall appeal.
As a telescopic mechanical mod, the K101 allows for adjustable length to accommodate different battery sizes. Battery insertion occurs from the bottom, where the firing button is also located. The button operates with a simple press. One significant observation, however, is the absence of a locking mechanism for the firing button, which could be a consideration for some users regarding accidental activation.
The Included Kamry K101 RDA
The atomizer bundled with the K101 is a respectable performer. While it may not rival high-end RDAs like the IGO-W or Trident, it is a very capable and welcome addition. It features three airflow holes, two optimized for dual-coil configurations and one for a single-coil setup. The RDA includes a removable drip tip and utilizes a standard 510 threading. Its copper center post adds a touch of uniqueness. Although it comes pre-built with a single coil, we opted for a dual-coil build with an 18650 battery and 24-gauge Kanthal wire, resulting in a 0.6-ohm resistance. The performance achieved was notably impressive.
Performance and User Experience
We tested the Kamry K101 Mod with both its dedicated RDA and a variety of clearomizers, including the Kanger AeroTank, Mini AeroTank, and the Aspire Nautilus. Its performance consistently exceeded expectations. Using an 18650 battery with the 0.6-ohm dual-coil RDA produced an exceptional volume of vapor and rich flavor. Switching to the Aspire Nautilus with an 18350 battery (after adjusting the telescopic tube) also yielded excellent results; the 1.6-ohm Nautilus still delivered a satisfying vapor and flavor experience.
Despite being a mechanical mod, the K101 presents a nuanced performance profile. It delivers a strong, reliable hit without being overwhelmingly powerful. However, its flavor delivery truly stands out, even with a single-coil build. Naturally, the dual-coil setup significantly amplified both vapor production and flavor intensity.
A particularly intriguing aspect of the K101 is its minimal voltage drop. Unlike some mechanical mods, the K101 maintains a consistent output from a fully charged battery down to nearly its final usable voltage. This translates to a uniform vaping experience throughout the battery’s charge cycle, a significant advantage for vapers seeking reliability.
Our tests with an 18650 (2500 mAh), 18500 (1300 mAh), and 18350 (700 mAh) battery all demonstrated strong performance and reasonable battery life commensurate with their capacities. While the 18650 is preferred for extended use, the 18350 configuration offers superior portability and discretion.
Regarding the 510 connector, Kamry opted for a non-adjustable design. This means certain atomizers may not sit perfectly flush with the device’s top. While we did not encounter this issue with our tested atomizers, it remains a potential concern for compatibility with others. For many, this is not a deal-breaker, particularly as most popular atomizers today are designed with non-adjustable 510 connectors in mind. However, those who prioritize a perfectly flush fit for every atomizer might consider alternatives.

Final Verdict and Recommendation
The Kamry K101 is an exceptional mechanical mod, particularly well-suited for those new to mechanical devices. Its unique design makes it one of the most visually appealing mods on the market. Performance is consistently high, delivering a satisfying vape, and the inclusion of a capable RDA significantly enhances its overall value proposition. It was a genuine pleasure to use throughout our review period.
Our only minor criticisms are the absence of a firing button locking mechanism and the non-adjustable 510 connector. However, neither of these points proved to be a deal-breaker for us. The K101 also represents excellent value, often found for as low as $39.99 for the complete kit including the RDA.
If you’re seeking a high-quality mechanical mod and wish to explore the world of RDAs, the Kamry K101 is a highly recommended option. Even seasoned vapers will find much to appreciate in this distinctive and reliable device.
