For all the devices I’ve reviewed here, I’ve never had the pleasure of testing a simple, no-nonsense pod system. So, when I heard the Vaptio C-Flat Vaporizer Pod kit was coming, I threw my hat in the ring. I don’t anticipate the C-Flat is going to replace my high-wattage devices, but I do think it’s going to be a strong contender for car rides, quick puffs, and any other time I need a quick vape without concern.
The futuristic-looking C-Flat vaporizer is certainly never going to be mistaken for a cigarette. With an oblong, flattened design, it looks more like a high-tech kazoo, or oddball medical device than a vape mod. However, if it performs well and fits comfortably in a pocket, who’s going to care? Not this guy.
The 120mm long C-Flat comes equipped with a somewhat low 350mAh internal battery, two replaceable cartridges/pods, a USB cable for 5-volt charging, and passthrough capability. In other words, there’s plenty to like, even if the battery capacity is a little on the low side.
What’s more interesting is how Vaptio enabled the C-Flat to operate as either a MTL or direct lung device, depending on how users set the mouthpiece. Though the pen’s 15-watt maximum isn’t going to produce room-filling clouds, we expect direct lung users will be happy to have the airflow needed to satisfy their cravings.
(We also don’t anticipate great battery life with direct lung hits, but would LOVE Vaptio to prove us wrong during testing.)
The entire device disassembles and reassembles with a few easy clicks, making it easy to clean and refill the pods. And operations are limited to one button. If you’re looking to customize a vape, this might not be the kit for you. But if you just want to press and puff, keep reading.
More on the Vaptio C-Flat Pod it
The 1.0-ohm atomizer pods have a fairly sizable 1.5mL capacity, which doesn’t sound like much to a dedicated sub-ohm vaper. But for the device’s purposes, this should be more than enough to get users through the afternoon. More importantly, the pods should be an absolute breeze to fill, simply by removing the silicone plug – very similar to what Joyetech did with the Penguin cartridges.
The jury is out on what e-liquids are best suited for these pods, but I would imagine thinner, higher-nic juices will perform best (and last the longest). Expect us to push these limits in our review.
As with any pod vape, we need to approach the Vaptio C-Flat Vaporizer kit from the perspective of the target user. However, with both MTL and direct lung vaping possible, we need to spend some time with the C-Flat before determining what that target audience should be.
