Well, to me anyway. It feels like I have been touting the magnificence of the SMOK TFV8 and TFV12 Cloud Beast and all its other iterations, for years. No matter what sub-ohm tank I was using, testing, or reviewing, I always came home to a SMOK TFV tank. That has changed; the Uwell Valyrian Sub-Ohm has managed to kick to the curb all the tanks I’ve been using. This is “the” Sub-Ohm Tank every sub-ohm Vaper needs to have in their tank arsenal.

In its default state, meaning straight out the plastic tube container, the performance of the Valyrian is heads and tails above all the others… except one. And although the other master level sub-ohm isn’t nearly as “pretty” as the Uwell Valyrian, it’s more expensive and the performance is equal to the Valyrian. This tank is the Vaping AMP the Tanker, an American Made sub-ohm that out shown them all, until the Uwell Valyrian was placed on my desk.

The Uwell Valyrian Sub-Ohm Tank begins with an excellent, super high-quality chassis design, and allows for a full 5mL juice capacity. The top cap is a hinged top-fill, where with a press of the button the top cap pops open to reveal two well-placed fill slots that allow for fast refills (one slot for pushing in the juice, the other slot for allowing misplaced air to push out). Should the top cap hinge become a problem I’ll update this review, but so far, this past 5 weeks have worked flawlessly.

What truly makes the Uwell Valyrian innovative is the adoption of. interchangeable airflow pins to integrate into the coil systems. When the owner of a new Uwell Valyrian opens the plastic tube to go through the package contents he or she will find 3 long Pins that fit down into the base of the tank and up through the coil system. Each Pin looks different, and depending on the one the owner chooses to use, that pin changes the default vape to be more focused on cloud production, or flavor, and a stronger combination of the both.

At first, I thought this Pin thing was another gimmick, a way to sell more tanks, but as soon as I used the spiral Pin I knew it was for real.

There is but a single resistance coil head for the Uwell Valyrian; a 0.15-ohm that is specially made with a Parallel Coil Structure. This allows for optimal airflow directly deep into the core. Using the large wicking ports will allow for faster ramp-up speed as well as well-balanced flavor production. The wattage resistance of the coil head in its default configuration is 95-120W. But, when used in conjunction with one of the 3 Pins, that changes, along with the characteristics of the vape itself. It’s an amazing experience when you try it for the time.

For my eliquids that have to have the best flavor tank I use the Spiral Pin in the Valyrian and the flavor focuses tightly, like I can’t believe. For the biggest, thickest clouds, the Unrestricted Pin makes huge cloud delivery very real. Naturally, many people will want some kind of a balance, and will no doubt use the Wavy Pin for that balance.

The fact these Pins make a difference is hard enough to believe, the fact they make a HUGE difference is mind-blowing.

The magic of the Uwell Valyrian lies with these interchangeable airflow pins used to create custom airflow style and flavor delivery. Each Pin is press-fitted into the interior base, as it is also a part of the 510-connection. These Pins adds a layer of sophistication and precision that we’ve not seen with any other Sub-Ohm Tank in the industry. I have to wonder which of the big-name manufacturers will be the first to copy this “Pin” technology.

The Uwell Valyrian Sub-Ohm Tank measures 25mm in diameter. The top-fill design is solid, and so far, has been a long-lasting tank.

The Valyrian and its 5mL tank capacity is just the right size.  There is an option to increase the maximum capacity to 8 milliliters, but it is sold separately, and I have not tried it. I plan to, but for now, 5mL seems plenty.

While the Uwell Valyrian comes in several colors, including purple and a rainbow mix, the standard black and/or stainless steel look the best. Some tanks that look plain can be made to appear sexy with a good paint job, but here, colors like purple hinder the sophisticated, classy appearance of this most beautiful sub-ohm.
