Uwell Crown 3 Sub-Ohm Tank Preview
The Uwell Crown 3 Sub-Ohm Tank is here, and priced at $31.95 (Element Vape), it seems as though Uwell has another hit on its hands. Our shipment of Crown 3’s arrived just yesterday, so we won’t be ready with a full review for a week, at least, but we can tell you what to expect and our very first impressions. Just remember, evaluating a sub-ohm tank tanks more than an hour of vaping with it. Issues, good or bad, can pop up in this first week or so.
About the Uwell Crown 3 Sub-Ohm
Reflecting back on the high performing, but not without its issues, the Uwell Rafale, or the excellent Uwell Crown 2, and even going back to the original Uwell Crown sub-ohm, the Uwell Crown 3 has not taken a revolutionary step forward, but rather a healthy “evolutionary” step forward. Which seems to be a good thing.
The Uwell Crown Sub-Ohm Tank line has been a major success among advanced vapers since the beginning, and it looks as though Uwell has learned from past mistakes and successes with the Crown 3.
The Uwell Crown 3 is a 24.5mm diameter tank, with a vape juice capacity of 5mL. The new Crown 3 also features the new ‘Parallel Coil Design’. Unlike the last few sub-ohm tanks we’ve looked at, Uwell includes two stainless steel coil heads. The flavor output of stainless steel is unlike Kanthal, but for some of the remaining fans of Temperature Control, the SS316 coils can play nicely with TC Box Mods.
The Uwell Crown 3 measures a moderate 24.5mm in diameter and its body design immediately gives off a Uwell Tank ‘feel’. The color scheme this time out is much more bold than usual for Uwell. The usual Black and Stainless Steel colors are here, but so are Matte Black, Safire Blue, and Rainbow.
Another feature we’re looking forward to testing out is the Uwell Crown 3 Anti-Leak Threaded-Top-Fill Method that unscrews and reveals two large 3.5mm by 6mm fill slots.
The Crown 3 also features a new Uwell Crown 3 Plug-n-Pull Replacement Coil design. This thread-less design features reinforced seals that provide a leak-proof seal. Every coil is a Vertical Coil, and the triple vertical wicking slots provide fast, and full wicking.
At the base of the Uwell Crown 3 are three 11mm by 2mm adjustable bottom airflow slots for a very smooth, and airy draw that allows for high wattage vaping, or the airflow can be fully closed to seal the tank off completely. The Uwell Crown 3 Sub-Ohm Tank hopes to be an excellent tank for moderate wattage Vapers. The materials to construct the tank seem to be high quality and well put together. Initial vaping with the Crown 3 have been enjoyable, and if it stays that way over the next week or so, the final grade should be very high.
The Plug-n-Pull coil system is where my personal interest lies, and I’ll be working that over quite a bit. I am disappointed over the choice of stainless steel coils, but that is Uwell, and I should have expected it.
