The Evolution of Vaping!

Vaping has defied the odds and predictions of being just another fad to continue to go from strength to strength as vaping evolves and grows. The intense competition and demand for vaporizers and e-liquids have forced this sector to continue to grow and evolve to produce better and better devices and flavors. Despite the imminent threats and cries of regulation, vaping continues to grow and evolve to even more impressive heights. Where did it all start and where is vaping heading?

The Evolution of Vaping – The Cigalike

Vaping started out as a small disposable cigalike device available from convenience stores and gas stations. They looked very much like a traditional cigarette, even down to the glowing red LED tip! They were disposable and cheap. There weren’t a lot of choices when it came to flavor or strengths. The cigalike wasn’t so much a quit smoking device as a smoking alternative or novelty. They are still available today.

The cigalike did have one benefit; it led us to the e-cigarette.

The next evolution in vaping was the eGo style pen e-cigarette. It was about the size of an average pen. The base was the battery, and the top of the e-cigarette was a tank which contained the atomizer and the e-liquid. This tank changed the game. It allowed vapers to choose from hundreds of different flavors of e-liquid, different nicotine strengths, and the ability to customize their e-cigarettes.

The biggest drawbacks to the basic eGo style e-cigarette were that it was limited in battery power and vapor production. These devices were aimed at smokers that were serious about quitting smoking and wanted high-nicotine e-liquids.

The Evolution of Vaping – The Box Mods

This is where vaping went from a tool to quit smoking to a serious hobby for many vapers. This is where we started to see the vaporizer truly transform. You started to see vapers that were searching for vaporizers, which produced more vapor and flavor. They wanted a premium experience. The demand for more vapor and more flavor led vapers to search for devices with larger coils with less resistance and more powerful batteries.

Mods encompass a lot of different vaporizers. You have basic box mods, sub-ohm box mods, squonk mods, mech mods, and many more. The basic concept of box mods is a box which contains the batteries and electronics with a tank that contains the atomizer and e-liquid sitting on top attached with a 510-threaded connection.

The drive for more flavor and vapor has led to some extremely powerful box mods, vaping conventions and cloud chasing competitions.

The Evolution of Vaping – The Pod Vapes

All of this evolution has led vaping back to the beginning.

That and the addition of nic salts. Premium e-liquids which contain natural nicotine rather than freebase nicotine. Nic salts are much smoother than freebase nicotine, which allows you to have much higher levels of nicotine with a smoother vaping experience.

More than ever before, new vapers are searching for simple and easy vaporizers which are small and convenient, but still, deliver a flavorful and vapor rich experience. You simply drop a new pod in when the old one runs out of e-liquid, and you’re ready to vape again!

What’s next for vaping? Nobody knows but the future of vaping is as secure as it has ever been. Regulation of the vaping industry by governments around the world hasn’t shut it down yet.
