Never before has a company name been so appropriate. When I received the Damn Vape Doom RTA a while back, the review never happened, since the deck continued to scorch the cotton, even at low wattages.
Though I didn’t have AS much trouble with the all-new Damn Vape WOTAN tank, there were just so many moments using it that made me say… well … “damn.”
Let’s get to the story, starting with the specs…
Discover the Damn Vape WOTAN Sub-Ohm Tank, featuring a top-filled 5.5mL capacity, interchangeable interior coil airflows, and flavorful mesh coil options. Constructed from stainless steel, the WOTAN Sub-Ohm Tank is fairly impact resistant and offers a 5.5mL tank capacity.
Refilled via the top fill system, the dual fill ports can be accessed by unthreading the top cap. Within the WOTAN Tank is a press fit installation system for mesh coils, creating delicious flavor and vapor with the Damn Vape WOTAN Coil Series.
At the base is a dual airflow control system that leads to the interior of the coil, featuring an interchangeable coil airflow that can vents right inside the coil for a tailored vaping experience.

Replacement Coils
Aesthetics Damn Vape WOTAN
No one can argue that Damn Vape doesn’t have a sense of style. Though most tanks look fairly similar these days, the WOTAN looks a little burlier and more squared-off than the competition, immediately standing out on shelves.
One thing you’ll notice immediately is how much real estate the massive mesh coils take up within the tank.
Given the refraction of light through the glass tube, you’d be forgiven for thinking the sides of the coil housing were actually touching the glass. (And when you fill the tank in what seems like a nanosecond, you’ll think it again…)
The 5.5mL bubble glass definitely helps, but overall, this isn’t a large capacity atomizer, so plan accordingly when heading out for the evening.
The capacity is limited even further if you choose to employ the included airflow inserts within the tank.
Much like it was with the classic Uwell Valyrian tank, these adapters definitely change the experience, but ultimately, most vapers will remove them before long.
The rest of the WOTAN is sharp, with chunky cutaways and styling around the top cap, a nicely tapered mouthpiece, and a rock-solid level of build quality. It feels commanding, and looks great on top of virtually any mod.
Vaping the Damn Vape WOTAN Tank
Sadly, the beauty ends when putting the WOTAN to work. Right out of the gate, we struggled to get the tank put together.
In opening the tank to view and prime the pre-installed coil, I had to use a damp rag to get a proper grip on the base, just to muscle open the tank.
When it finally gave way, I was greeted by two frayed halves of a broken o-ring.
Making things worse, the coil itself was also frayed and warped, and the atomizer wouldn’t read on any of our mods. So, to those keeping score, before I even grabbed a bottle of e-liquid, we’re already down 50% of the included coils.
Working with the WOTAN
Thankfully, the second coil was intact and worked right out of the box. After a good prime and soak, I gave the WOTAN a quick fire at approximately 45 watts, and received a huge rush of flavor.
Though the coil was rated for much higher wattage limits, I found these heads were more flavorful in the mid range, even if the vape was cooler overall.
Despite the lack of heat, the coil was as thirsty as a desert wanderer, requiring me to refill several times an hour, even at low wattages.
The flavor was there in force, but it was still disproportionate with the amount of refilling I needed to do.
It might have been easier to take if it lasted. Unfortunately, the coil only gave me a few solid days of performance before flavor began to wane and vapor production thinned out.
It was a fairly precipitous drop, too, with the experience worsening rapidly once I noticed the decline.
But perhaps worst of all was the strange coil/cotton fragments I found floating in the tank in my final few refills. A deeper look showed rapid deterioration of the coil materials, as if I had vaped this atomizer for months on end, and at high wattages, to boot. Disappointing, to say the least.

Bottom Line
We like Damn Vape’s style. We like their commitment to producing something original in a sea of lookalike vape products.
And we genuinely believe the company has a lot more to give than what we’ve seen so far. But that doesn’t excuse the problems we’ve experienced in two rounds of tests with their devices.
The WOTAN has an amazing look and feel, and the flavor potential is definitely there. But the questionable coil quality and lack of longevity puts it behind so many other options in the sub-ohm tank marketplace.
