ASPIRE CLEITO EXO SUB-OHM TANK REVIEW 1

Important Information You Need To Know First

The Aspire Cleito EXO comes with two Kanthal coils, the 0.16Ω (pre-installed) and the 0.4Ω coil. The 0.16Ω coil is much thicker than the 0.4Ω coil, thereby allowing the same Cleito EXO body to qualify as a 3.5mL capacity tank and the TPD regulated 2mL capacity tank. The only coil available in TPD ‘occupied territory’ is the thicker 0.16ΩThat said, it shouldn’t be a problem obtaining the thinner coils from ‘friends’ in non-occupied lands.

To change the coil head, you’ll need to unscrew the top cap, which will also reveal the fill slots. Once removed you will need to grip the metal tank and pull upward. The metal tank/glass is not screwed into the base, it’s held by an O-ring. From the factory, as usual, it’s not easy to pull up on the metal tank, but it can be done with a little muscle. If you do not remove the top cap you’ll never remove the metal/glass tank. The coil is screwed into both the top and bottom of the tank.

The Aspire Cleito EXO can use the 0.2Ω and 0.4Ω Cleito coils for 3.5mL capacity. After a couple of weeks of use, I recommend the 0.2Ω, which has a wattage range of 55-70W. Remember, this is Kanthal, so TC mode cannot be used with this tank. The wattage range will still provide lots of clouds, great flavor, and you’ll save battery life and vape juice consumption at these lower wattages.

Before the Aspire Cleito EXO came along, I can remember when I was given a stack of Cleito V1 tanks. I was asked to evaluate this new tank for flavor and cloud production.

Except for the plastic toothbrush-like packaging, I wasn’t all that impressed by looking at it. Very plain, mostly glass, with what looked like a cartomizer in the middle. I briefly considered that Aspire had released a new Carto-Tank on the vape community.

To make matters worse, each tank came with a silicone cap to be placed through the drip tip and wrapped around the top cap of the tank.

Let’s be honest, the Aspire Cleito didn’t look like much, but man could it ever throw clouds! The Cleito was amazing, and the Kanthal coils wrapped as Clapton coils, produced excellent flavor.

After the surprising success of the Cleito, Aspire doubled down with the Cleito 120, a high wattage version of the Cleito Sub-Ohm, and although the glass and metal got very hot for me when I approached 100W, this new Cleito proved to be able to kick some serious clouds. Using Kanthal once again, the flavor produced from the Cleito 120 was some of the best I’ve had. I don’t use the Cleito 120 anymore because it does get hot, but there are times when I miss the simplicity from this powerful high-performance sub-ohm tank.

The Aspire Cleito EXO Arrives

If you don’t know anything about the Cleito EXO yet, spend a few minutes reading our Preview of the EXO that was published back on March 31st. After spending more than 2 weeks using the Cleito EXO I can now spend my time, and yours, telling you what it’s like to vape with it.

Aspire Cleito EXO Standard and TPD

As explained above, the Cleito EXO is the same size for both the Standard version and the TPD compliant

version. The Standard version holds 3.5mL of vape juice when using the 0.2Ω 0.4Ω.

To comply with the TPD, the 0.16Ω coil is much thicker, allowing only 2mL of juice to fit inside. On the plus side, the 0.16Ω coil has a range of 60-100W. If 2mL works for you, the 0.16Ω coil is astonishing. Comparing the clouds produced with the 0.16Ω coil with the SMOK TFV8 V8-T10, it’s neck and neck with clouds.

When purchased, the Aspire Cleito EXO includes one 0.4Ω coil and one 0.16Ω. If you have any positive experiences with any of the Aspire Cleito tanks I would recommend picking up at least another pack of coils, and if you want the 3.5mL vape juice capacity, it will have to be the 0.2Ω or 0.4Ω coils.

Recommended Wattage (0.4 Ohms): 40W – 60W

Recommended Wattage (0.2 Ohms): 55W – 70W

The Aspire Cleito EXO is the best Cleito yet, and Aspire has improved the vape experience in ways that have caused me to add a few back into my sub-ohm tank rotation.

What’s So Different About Cleito EXO?

First, obviously, is the colorful metal over the glass tank. 5 colors actually; Bronze, Black, Blue, Rainbow, and Stainless Steel. I have all but the bronze, and I plan on picking that one up as soon as I can.

The EXO features improved airflow, using a top-air-tech the Aspire Cleito EXO is now supposedly leak-proof. That said, so far this is has been my experience with the EXO, but remember that the tank is held to the base with an O-ring.

The Aspire Cleito EXO and original Cleito use the same lower coil threading. That’s why it can support the preinstalled 0.16ohm high-wattage coil, or the Cleito 0.2ohm or 0.4ohm coils.

Real World Usage

So far so good. If the O-ring at the base of the tank holds out you will not experience any leaks, but make sure the top cap is hand-tightened since it is the top cap that forces the seal with the base.

Flavor and cloud production remains out of this world, like all Aspire Cleito tanks. The biggest improvement is the ability to vape at the higher wattages without worrying about the heated glass tank. The metal “jacket” keeps the tank cool to the touch, a big plus.

If you want great flavor and big clouds, the Aspire Cleito EXO could very well be your next sub-ohm tank. I score the EXO 9.8.

Available at Vapor Authority for just $19.99. Replacement coils are 5-packs and are $15.99, for 0.2 and 0.4Ω coils, and $16.99 for the 0.16Ω coil.
