And so it goes, another electronic cigarette SCAM…

This is a mock up of an “official” news type page. where we read all sorts of interesting news and facts about electronic cigarettes. Hey, there’s David Letterman! Well, now I know this has to be a legit offer!
Of course, how can you not include a photo of “The Doctors” and their famous TV discussions on e cigarettes? More words, more convincing words about how great eCigarettes are and how you simply have to kick the smoking habit…
And at the bottom of the page, well, wouldn’t you know it, Regal Cigs. Didn’t we do a Scam Alert on them last year?
They are offering a “Risk Free Trial”. Sure, sure they are… but they also offer this up.

If you are serious about finding a safer, healthier way to smoke, then the Regal Ecig Risk Free Trial is right for you.

Blah, blah, blah… we get to the meat of the SCAM. The Terms and Conditions (they’ll get you every time!)
2. PURCHASING THE PRODUCT Upon placing your first order for the Product you will be enrolled in Regal Refill Program. Regal Cigs will send you a Starter Kit, which includes one extended battery, one wall charger, one USB charger, one cigarette case, 5 nicotine cartomizers, and an instruction manual. All you pay for is shipping and handling at a rate of $9.95 (USD)(occasional promotional rates may apply).
As a member of the Program, you have 14 days to try the Product (the Trial Period). Please note that delivery time is subtracted from your Trial Period, and will reduce the number of days allocated to your Trial Period. If the Product is not right for you call 1-888-822-5977 during the Trial Period to cancel. Otherwise, at the end of your Trial Period your credit card will be charged $119.95 (USD) for the Product you already received.
Then 45 days from your initial order of the Product (and every 30 days thereafter), you will be sent a new supply of the Refills containing 10 cartomizers, (A total of 400 cigarettes worth) and your credit card will be charged $79.95 + $4.95 S/H (the Monthly Fee).
The sale of product is banned in the following: Linn County, Iowa; Town of North Allebororo, MA; South Hadley, MA; San Francisco, CA.
Foreign Transaction Fee: Occasionally RegalCigs uses international banks for credit card processing. Some Issuing banks (the bank your credit card is tied to) charge small fees for processing offshore. These may show up as “Int Fee”, “Foreign Transaction Fee,” or something similar. These fees are charged by your bank, not RegalCigs.
And there you have it… the SCAM. Your RISK FREE TRIAL turns into a nightmare that will see to it that you hundreds of dollars poorer than you were before you clicked that Submit Button.
But it gets worse:
3. CANCELLATION/ REFUND POLICY If you decide our product is not for you simply give us a call at (888) 822-5977 no later than 11:59 P.M. ET (Eastern Time) on or before the 14th day from your original order date. If you cancel your order, your postage and packing fee will not be refunded. In order for refunds to be issued, product must be sent back to us at the provided address within 30 days of ordering.
No item will be accepted for return if it is not accompanied by a valid RMA number. An RMA number can be obtained by calling Customer Service at (888) 822-5977 within the return period.
All Product returns must be sent to Regal Cigs at 405 W. Fairmont Drive, Tempe, AZ 85282.
Refunds will not be given on packages marked “Return To Sender” or returned without a valid RMA attached.
Once the product is received and checked by our warehouse, we will issue you the appropriate refund. The items must be returned in the same condition as received. Any damaged product may void issuance of refund. If you fail to cancel prior to the expiration of the Trial Period or you fail to return the starter kit with an RMA number within the 30 days of ordering, your credit card will be charged $99.95 for the Product that was shipped to you.
PLEASE NOTE THAT THERE IS A 20% RESTOCKING FEE ON ALL RETURNED PRODUCTS.
Tell me again how this is a RISK FREE TRIAL? Let’s say the consumer tries this, after being warned time and time again about these Scams, and let’s pretend every goes smoothly, timely, and correctly… Even if that happens, there will be a 20% RESTOCKING FEE. Again, how is that RISK FREE?
Please, let’s pay attention smokers. This is NOT a deal, this is a SCAM. Do not fall for this nonsense. There are dozens of legit companies out there that WILL help you. This one isn’t one of them.
Stay away from Regal Cigs, and American Smoke, and Prada, and XO, and Lift Vapor, and every other brand that offers you a RISK FREE TRIAL or an AUTO SHIP PROGRAM.
