PSYCHEDELIC STEAM

A Spinfuel eLiquid Team Review – Team Dori

Somehow combining his passion for psychedelic music and eliquid flavorings, the owner of Psychedelic Steam made his dream a reality. Out of Belleville, Illinois, Psychedelic Steam is mixed in a clean room with complete HEPA filtration systems that keep the air change rate above 35 times an hour, and a twice-daily standard sterilization regimen.

The flavors are melodies that roll off of your palate that were envisioned after certain songs or artists. I love the story. The team is looking at four truly unique flavors that pair different combinations together, in very interesting ways. I really enjoyed the Psychedelic experience!

Alicia will no longer be with the team and I am in the process of filling her shoes. The team and I wish her well as she moves on in her life and other directions. So, let’s continue on with the current team of four and dive into this musical journey of flavors from Psychedelic Steam….

Spinfuel Review Protocols

PSYCHEDELIC STEAM-A Spinfuel eLiquid Team Review – Team DoriIf this is the first time you are reading a Spinfuel eLiquid Team Review, we suggest that you take a look at the new protocols we’ve set up for each of the reviews. You’ll need to know how long we vape the eliquid, in what manner, what we look for, and how an eliquid may earn a coveted Spinfuel Choice Award.

In addition, in order to understand the scores and our comments about each one, knowing the intricacies of our methods will give you a greater understanding of the process. Click here: Please note* The Dori Team generally users modern RDA’s, RBA’s and RTA’s with custom coil builds. Not only is that our preferred vaping style we also believe we can discover ever nuance of flavor hidden in the juice itself.

Psychedelic Steam Particulars

We received the Psychedelic Steam E-juice in 15ml glass bottles with glass child proof droppers. They retail for $9.99 online at www.thevapespace.com. There are also two other sizes available the 30ml for $17.99 or 120ml for $44.99 which aren’t bad prices for this quality eliquid in quantity. That averages out to $.60/ml and most “top” shelf eliquids run around $22 per 30ml, or $0.73 per mL.

The blends are a 75vg/25pg blend which is great for use in RDAs and great Sub-Ohm Tanks. They can be handled by dual coils (such as the Kanger 1.8 ohm or 1.6 ohm and the Nautilus BVC coils) as well though because I do have testers in my shop that run higher VG blends. The nicotine levels available are: 0mg, 3mg, and 6mg.

Psychedelic Steam Packaging

We received the 15ml glass bottles with tamper proof droppers and child resistant caps. The labels definitely have that eye appeal and a psychedelic look to do with the name. I think the different color swirls for each flavor are great. Their name, flavor name, and even a brief flavor description is on the front.

I’ve had customers ask why this can’t be on every label, so that is a plus. Psychedelic Steam also has all the other necessary components neatly on the labels from ingredients, to the warning, to even a batch code and born on date. The packaging is nicely done!

Psychedelic Steam The JUICE

This is what it is all about: the flavor. We have five to cover. I’m Dori, the head writer, and will kick every flavor off with my thoughts as the team follows.  Remember as always, taste is subjective and is in the mouth of the beholder. I do believe I’ve assembled a truly unique team. We all have different palates and I value each opinion of those on my team. Let’s see what we come up with for these for four unique blends!!

GYPSY

“A tart cream base paired with pecans and gingerbread.”

PSYCHEDELIC STEAM-A Spinfuel eLiquid Team Review – Team Dori Dori:   5 stars. Gypsy just has a really delicious and not overpowering gingerbread flavoring to it. On the inhale, I taste a nice, buttery gingerbread flavor. On the exhale, the pecan flavor really comes out and blends in super smoothly with the gingerbread flavoring. I enjoy how the cream smooth’s this flavor out and makes me want to finish this gingerbread eliquid!

The spices are there, but just subtle enough that I could savor the blend and taste the pecans and cream. The throat hit was mild and there was a nice vapor production with Gypsy. I enjoyed this best around 45 watts. I will be using a Hannya RDA with a .3-ohm coil build and a HexOhm V2 mod for these reviews.

Scott:  4 stars. On the inhale, I tasted the custard with a slight tart flavor. The pecans, tartness, and custard really came out on the exhale for me. Unlike the rest of the team, I can’t taste the spice of the gingerbread very much. It was mild hint of gingerbread flavoring to me.

The exhale has an almost nutty tobacco flavor to it. All in all, I really enjoyed this flavor and I ended up finishing the whole bottle. I will be using an IPV3 Box Mod and a Hannya RDA with a .3-ohm coil build for these reviews.

Dana: 4 stars. For all of these reviews, I used a SMOK M80 mod and a Popeye RDA built at .2 ohms and set at no more than 50 watts.  On the inhale, I taste a slightly sweet gingerbread and cinnamon. The more I vaped Gypsy, the more prominent the cinnamon became, which I greatly enjoyed. On the exhale, I could taste toasted pecans.

I also got a slightly tart flavor left on my tongue after vaping. Gypsy has excellent vapor production and a mild throat hit. However, I could not taste any of the cream at all.

Louis: 4 stars. “tart pecan custard with gingerbread” – All the described flavors on the bottle of this eliquid were present. I got the nutty pecan, the creamy custard, and the gingerbread flavors all at different times too. The nutty gingerbread was on the inhale and the exhale was a smoother creamy gingerbread.

The gingerbread taste was a little heavy, but the custard seemed to calm it down some and the pecans made it taste a little richer. It was an interesting combination of flavors to make it more than just the gingerbread. For all of these reviews, I used a three battery mechanical mod and a Popeye RDA with a .25-ohm coil build.

SOLITUDE

“A sweet mango with a tangy melon.”

PSYCHEDELIC STEAM-A Spinfuel eLiquid Team Review – Team DoriDori:   4.5 stars. Solitude is a nice blend of mango and melons. Often times adding any bit of mango to a blend can over power it and with Solitude, it’s well balanced. On the inhale, I taste the mango first before the melon flavor swirls into the mix. On the exhale, I can mainly taste the melons with just a tiny touch of the mango in the background.

If you are a fruit or melon vape lover, this will be a good one for you to add to your rotation. This is a unique blend that I haven’t seen paired together before. The throat hit is mild and vapor production is great! I enjoyed Solitude best around 50 watts.

Scott: 3.5 stars. On the inhale, I tasted a hint of Mango. It wasn’t a very strong mango flavoring, but it still had a great, natural taste to it. On the exhale, I didn’t taste much of the Mango because the melon seemed to really come out. The melon is a good crisp taste like as if I am eating fresh melons.

The flavor is very refreshing.
Dana: 3.5 stars. On the inhale, Solitude has an under ripe mango flavor, which was a tad bitter to me.  On the exhale, I tasted a lightly sweet melon flavor that was quite enjoyable. There was a tangy aftertaste left on my tongue after vaping. The cloud production is excellent and it has a mild throat hit.

I played around with the wattage and this eliquid tasted best at a higher wattage.

Louis: 4.5 stars. “tangy mango melon” – I agree with Dori on this one. This was a very sweet and fruity eLiquid. I tasted the very sweet and tangy mango flavor on the inhale, and then it cooled down with a smooth melon taste on the exhale. I really enjoyed the combination of mango and melon because in my opinion the mango alone would have been too overwhelming (too sweet or too tangy). With the accompaniment of melon, this helped to mellow the mango flavoring out making it easier to vape for a longer period of time.

SYD

“A cool blue pear.”

PSYCHEDELIC STEAM-A Spinfuel eLiquid Team Review – Team Dori Dori: 2.5 stars. I’m just not a big fan of SYD. The inhale has an off taste to it that is a bit tangy. After that fades, going into the exhale, it tastes like a really sweet juice that would be left from a blue popsicle. This was at a lower wattage. When I cranked it up to 60 watts, the off taste died down just a bit, but it was still an overly sweet blue popsicle liquid. Both times, it tasted rather flat. I just don’t taste the pear anywhere here.

Scott:  3 stars. This is the eliquid the whole team seems to be on the same page about. We all seemed to not really be able to find that pear flavoring. Even though there wasn’t a ton of pear present, there were hints of it present in the inhale. On the exhale, I got more of what seemed to be more of a mild menthol flavor and raspberry or blueberry flavor.

It wasn’t a good crisp flavor though, it was a very flat and not very sweet at all. SYD just wasn’t my favorite.
Dana: 3 stars. On the inhale, Syd has a very mild pear flavor. On the exhale, this eliquid has a strong blueberry candy or maybe cough drop flavor. Again, it seems to leave an odd taste on my tongue after vaping.

The higher the wattage, the stronger the cough drop flavor becomes.  The cloud production is amazing and it has a mild throat hit.

Louis: 4 stars. cool blue pear – I’m not sure where the pear really plays a part in this eliquid. On the inhale, I could taste a sweet, but smooth, berry flavor and also tasted a sweet mellow flavor in the exhale. The berry taste reminded me of blueberry, blue raspberry candy, or perhaps like a slushie.

It even kind of reminded me of berry hubba bubba when it mellows in the exhale. The pear might be coming through to mellow the berry taste, but its so mellow I’m not really sure if it is there or not. I did still enjoy vaping SYD though, regardless of the missing pear.

ZEPPELIN

“A maple RY4 with bourbon and almonds. Even people who don’t normally like tobacco love Zeppelin.”

PSYCHEDELIC STEAM-A Spinfuel eLiquid Team Review – Team DoriDori:  4 stars. Zeppelin borders on being ALMOST perfumey in taste, but once I vaped it for awhile, I began to enjoy the maple blending with the bourbon and almonds that create this flavor on the inhale. It’s an acquired taste-especially with the addition of the RY4 that seems to swirl in after that initial bourbon blend.

I would agree that people who don’t normally like tobacco may enjoy Zeppelin. The bourbon and almond flavoring really kick it up a notch as far as depth of flavor goes. The maple fades quickly right after the inhale. The exhale is definitely my favorite part, the mixture of the tobacco, caramel, vanilla, and the bourbon and almond.

I enjoyed this best around 45 watts, the throat hit was mild, and the vapor production was pretty good!

Scott: 4 stars. On the inhale, I wasn’t too sure about Zeppelin. I agree with Dori that it left a really odd taste at first, but the more I vaped it, the more that I realized it was the sweetness from the maple. The sweetness of the maple was very overpowering until I got used to it and the hint of tobacco that blended into the mix.

On the exhale, I tasted a slight hint of almonds, but the bourbon was too strong at first to me. I could barely taste any of the other flavors, but like the inhale, the more I vaped it, the more it seemed to tone down. By the end of tasting for the review, I thought it was a nice mixture with the ry4 combo.

Dana: 3 stars. I am not a huge fan of maple or tobacco flavors, but Zeppelin was not too bad.  On the inhale, I tasted the maple tobacco, in which the tobacco was very strong.  The exhale has a nice slightly sweet bourbon flavor.  The vapor production was incredible and it had a mild throat hit.  The higher the wattage, the stronger the tobacco and maple became.

Louis: 3 stars. bourbon almond RY4- If you are looking for a vape to get over your tobacco cravings, this could be a good contender. All I could taste and smell was the tobacco. The inhale was a sweet (maybe maple sweet)  and nutty (almond) tobacco flavor. I got more of the rich bourbon tobacco on the exhale. The tobacco taste was a little much for me but it wasn’t a bad tobacco because of the flavors you got along side the tobacco.

 CONCLUSION

Psychedelic Steam is definitely a unique vendor with a unique style. If you are a vaper who is looking for a PSYCHEDELIC STEAM-A Spinfuel eLiquid Team Review – Team Dorichange and unique flavor, definitely try one of their blends. There is a super variety in these four flavors from dessert and fruit to a great tobacco blend.

I guess most of just didn’t ‘get’ SYD, but that doesn’t mean that you won’t, because Louis truly enjoyed it! That is why it’s important to read through all of our reviews. Sometimes we agree, and sometimes we just pick up different notes out of the e-liquids we receive.

All in all, I think the team and I will  look forward to tasting and learning more from the Psychedelic Steam team.

As always, the team and I all have a unique way of tasting flavors but you’ll know who you relate to most after you read all of the reviews. We all have our own style. These are our opinions and it is nice to have different views sometimes on the same product.
