WOW Vapor Zeus 510-Threaded

Over the past couple of weeks I have been enjoying my Vapor Zeus. A 1300mAh behemoth that can satisfy the demands of even the heaviest of users of e cigarettes. The Vapor Zeus is also one of the best products to come from the mind of Steve Millan, owner and chief innovator of Vapor4Life. If you have not had the pleasure of reading my original review for the Vapor Zeus, click this sentence to be whisked away to the review. Go on, I’ll wait….

As you can see from the above, the only difference, besides the 510 vs 808 threading is the number of products that are compatible with the new 510 Vapor Zeus. For me, that’s a non-issue, which I’ll explain later.

The famous, one of a kind Smileomizer for the 510 version are spec’d out like this:

  • Threading: 510
  • Coil: Vertical
  • Resistance: 2.5ohm

Now that you’re familiar with what I’ve said about the Vapor Zeus  in my original review, and smokenjoey’s excellent video review, you might be wondering why I seem to be writing another review for it. Well, I do still own, and use, that marvelous Vapor Zeus, but it’s the 510 threaded Zeus that I want to bring to your attention today. This one is also a 1300mAh Zeus, but instead of the traditional 808-threaded Smileomizers the new one uses a standard 510-threaded Smileomizer, or any other 510-threaded device you might want to attach to it. (not that I’ve tried every device, but for kicks I did use many of them)

From what I understand the 808 Vapor Zeus will continue to be available over at vapor4life.com, and the new, 510-threaded Vapor Zeus will be available at wowvapor.com. Confused? I was too.

The performance, and indeed the specs, between the two Vapor Zeus models are pretty much identical, except of course for the 510 and 808 threads.

Real World Usage

When I was asked by my boss to give the 510 Vapor Zeus the Tom McBride Special I thought there might be some significant differences between the two, so I was up for the review. But, truthfully speaking, the ‘vape’ is identical. And by that I mean that both Vapor Zeus models are two of my favorite e cigarettes.

Still, I couldn’t quite figure out why Vapor4Life needed to come out with a 510 version of their winning e-cigar/e-cigarette. How many vapers would truly bother to use anything other than a Smileomizer on the end of one of these babies? Not many. Surely not me. So why do it? Well, after talking to my boss, I learned the following:

Vapor4Life trying to help their customers fully understand the difference between 510-threaded and 808-threaded products. So they’re keeping Vapor4Life – 808 and WOW Vapor – 510, that way people won’t accidentally buy a 510 battery and 808 Smileomizer, or vice versa,  only to realize they don’t work together. If the websites carry different threading, it will help their customers get the right products. I can understand that, since many new vapers are not aware of different threading, much less the difference between 808 and 510 threads.

The ‘industry’ uses 510 threads much more than 808, so in order to service that segment of vapers, Steve Millin decided to give the people what they want, as it were. Now people who are fans of 510 threaded devices will be able to use their favorite battery with a V4L  Smileomizer, and if they’re really like the tanks they have they can now use a 510 Vapor Zeus with it. Basically, V4L is allowing their products to be more compatible with other products on the market. It’s a good idea. Though, again, I’m the kind of vaper that would only use a Smileomizer with a Zeus, so that didn’t even occur to me.

When I run out of Smileomizers for my 808 Vapor Zues I order more, I don’t switch to some other tank. Now, because I will use both the 808 and 510 models (not likely to happen to most vapers)  I will wind up using both and I’ll have to order two different types. I’ve run out of the 510 Smileomizers early on, so like some of you I’m waiting for the wowvapor.com site to add them so I can place an order for the 510 Smileomizers, in the meantime, I do have another 808 Smileomizer waiting in the wings for my 808 Vapor Zeus.

Pro-Level Vaping

The Vapor Zeus, at least the1300mAh battery Zeus, provides what I call a professional level vape. With a large Smileomizer on the end of it I look like I’m puffing away on a large cigar, and the amount of vapor outpaces the smoke coming off the end of a good cigar. The throat hit is humongous, no doubt because of the 5v of regulated power getting to the juice.

Instant Pleasure

I own many electronic cigarettes, all of them big, powerful, and feature rich. Yet, they all require a bit of a warm up in order to reach full performance. The Vapor Zeus, on the other hand, is able to produce pro-level vapor with the very first drag, no priming needed, and that to me is one of its biggest real world features. Monster vaping, instantly. So simple to use, so much vapor to deal with.

Planck Scale

When I vape a tobacco flavor it is always in the Vapor Zeus, always. I vape tobacco flavors about 75% of the time, so using my math skills here its fair to say that I use my Vapor Zeus a whole lot more than I do my various iTaste’s, ProVari’s, and everything else. The vape you get from a Vapor Zeus is unique, unlike anything you’ve vaped before. I am convinced that it is a magical combination of this huge, handsome battery, and a cartomizer that is designed to annihilate vapor right down to the Planck scale, providing strong, thick, rich, and intoxicating vapor.

Downside?

If there is a serious downside to the Vapor Zeus its this; I can never enjoy fruity or bakery flavors with it. It’s too powerful for these types of flavors, too masculine. Most of the time I’m vaping a tobacco flavor, or a coffee flavor, and once in a while I get a nice vape going with FanceeJuice’s MeeseTracks. I think that’s how it should be.

Birds Nest

Julia, Jason, John and I are currently vaping a set of flavors from Birds Nest Elixirs, three of the four flavors are tobacco flavors and one if a coffee blend. I vaped all four of them in the new 510 Zeus and let me tell you, they were spectacular, but again, they were flavors that I think the Vapor Zeus is designed for, at least the 1300mAh cigar size is. (The Vapor Zeus is not the only device I used in the Birds Nest review, I’m still working on it.)

In Conclusion…

… When it comes to deciding which Vapor Zeus you want, the 808 or 510, it is strictly up to you. There is no difference in performance, no difference in price, and no difference in the Smileomizers except for the threading. That said, if you’re like me, in that you are looking for a vape that outmatches the best cigars, a vape that lesser men and women couldn’t handle, then you owe it to yourself to own a 1300mAh Vapor Zeus. I promise you, if I had the money I’d have half a dozen Zeus batteries and 25 large Smileomizers on hand all the time, and I would ditch all but one (or two) of my other vape gear.

The new 510 Vapor Zeus is supposed to be available very soon. If you’ve thought about buying a Vapor Zeus but have yet been able to plug the trigger because you didn’t want to own an 808-threaded device, then the 510 Zeus is your answer. If you already own a Vapor Zeus then I can see no benefit in buying the 510. Doing so means buying two different Smileomizers. In any case, the Vapor Zeus is first-class product, once that will last you a long, long time. While the battery itself may be on the expensive side, the Smileomizers are less money than I thought they would be, especially when you buy a 10-pack, which is what I do.
