Joyetech eGo-CC Starter Kit – $59.99

By the time I started vaping the simple atomizer had gone to the wayside, being replaced by more sophisticated clearomizers, Vivi Nova’s, and so forth. The first time I vaped with the simple atomizer was when I reviewed the eLips-C by Ovale. I liked it, and I used it as my primary PV for a while. That being the case, when it was time to review the new Joye eGo-CC Smart Kit, supplied by our dear friends at MyVaporStore, I pleaded my case and won the chance to review it. Yay me!

MyVaporStore - Joye eGo-CC Review Spinfuel eMagazine

Like the eLips-C the Joye eGo-CC uses the same type of atomizer, the replaceable atomizer head with the pointy tip that the juice is sucked into. It’s a simple process really, the juice is pulled into the atomizer through that sharp point and heated to release vapor. There is no cotton or polyfill material that you see in cartomizers, no wicks that you see in clearomizers, and no tiny short wicks that screw into Kanger EVOD’s and the like. The atomizer is just a ceramic heating element in the head and it vaporizes pure juice, with nothing between them. To me there is no better way to get the real flavor of any eJuice.  The replaceable atomizer head is a cinch to replace, and they are not that expensive. (see below)

MyVaporStoreThe eGo-CC

The new Joye eGo-CC is really an updated eGo-C with a new clearomizer. Not really much to say about the battery actually. The one I received for review is the 1000mAh version, which lasts an average of 8 hours of moderate to almost-heavy vaping.
The kit is called eGo-CC because of the clearomizers “changeable” atomizer head and it’s “clear” juice window. The see-through window is the heart of eGo-CC clearomizer, or so they say. I think it’s the atomizer.

The eGo series batteries come in different capacities 650mAh and 1000mAh; it includes short circuit protection, over-charge protection and discharge protection, making it a safer-than-ever battery, especially for an eGo battery. It also features the 5-click on/off operation.

The 1000mAh ‘upgraded’ battery can change modes as well. Using the eGo-C 5-click functionality you can operate it in ‘regulated’ mode (indicated by a blue LED) and it will produce a constant output of 3.3v. In the unregulated mode (indicated by an orange LED) will increase the output power by up to 0.5w depending on remaining battery capacity.

The replaceable atomizer head has an inner ceramic base, and it’s quite small and easy to replace, it’s time that this old-school atomizer made a decent comeback.

The kit includes the battery and the brand new Joye clearomizer. After a week of heavy vaping the clearomizer never leaked through the bottom because of a new upper air inlet.  The clearomizer itself is also compatible with all the batteries in the eGo series, and its available at MyVaporStore as a separate item. It holds only 1.3ML of juice, so you’ll add eLiquid to it a few times before you have to recharge the battery.

The Joyetech eGo-CC kit :

  • 1 x eGo-CC Chrome Mouthpiece
  • 2 x eGo-C Atomizer Head – Type A
  • 1 x eGo-CC Atomizer Body
  • 1 x eGo-C Battery
  • 1 x Ego Rapid USB Charger
  • 1 x Mini AC Wall to USB
  • Comes in Black or Brushed Steel

Real World Usage

The 1000mAh eGo-CC battery is rather long, longer than I’m used to, but the battery life is excellent.  Combined with the new clearomizer I enjoyed hours of clean tasting vapor. There are some drawbacks to the new kit though. Like I said, the battery is long, and it took a bit of getting used to. The clearomizer works wonderfully well, but then again the 1.3ml capacity is small compared to most clearomizers on the market today.

All in all, the Joyetech eGo-CC ‘kit’ is a decent value at $59.99. MyVaporStore sells additional eGo-CC Atomizer Body for $16.95.  If you already have some eGo batteries and chargers then you can experience the new clearomizer alone and pick up the eGo-CC by itself.

It is a JoyeTech product, which means it’s a quality product. If you’re thinking about buying a kit for backup or as a primary PV, I think you’ll really enjoy it. It comes with 2 atomizer heads so you’ll be good to go for about a month with moderate vaping, and when you need more you can buy them at MyVaporStore as well. A 5-pack of atty heads are $24.95, and with proper care 5 heads should last you about 3 months.
