Innokin iSub APEX Review

Innokin
iSub APEX Sub Ohm Tank
MyVaporStore & Others
$19.95-$25.95

Grade: A

Overview

The Innokin iSub APEX is the new, and updated version of the Innokin iSub and iSub G tanks, which we’ve reviewed earlier this year. The Innokin iSub APEX has been created with the purpose of creating a sub ohm tank that can provide the perfect mouth- to- lung vape experience. Consistently providing complete flavor components in each drag, huge warm cloud of vapors, the iSub APEX is a major advance in the Innokin tank systems.

For this review I used the Innokin Disrupter, the compact 50W Vaporizer than can fire down to 0.2ohm, and powered by the Innocell LiPo batteries by Innokin. The perfect pair if you ask me.Innokin iSub APEX Review

Spotlight Features

The Spin Top Fill System provides a quick and clean way to refill your tank, and with its raised adjustable airflow the APEX minimizes leaking and maximizes performance, are just two of the several new features in this new tank.

Apex iSub InnokinThis attractive, sleek, high-quality Stainless Steel body and Glass tank have been engineered to provide a durable, long-lasting tank. The prebuilt coil heads, along with its airflow system helps produce the best flavor and cloud production than any other Innokin tank that has come before the APEX.

The Innokin iSub APEX will work with all iSub 2.0Ω, 0.5Ω and 0.2Ω iSub Coils, no matter which previous model you might have. Coil heads are made using pure 100% Japanese organic cotton, allowing for fast wicking and the purest taste of even the most complex eliquid recipes.

The Innokin iSub APEX has comes with two drip tips (one stainless Innokin iSub APEX Reviewsteel and one glass) in the box. To help with heat dissipation the stainless steel drip tip has a Delrin insulator that prevents the drip tip from getting to hot, so no matter what your vaping style is, your drip tip will stay cool for a pleasant vape experience.

Prism Flavor+

Innokin’s new design, called Prism Flavor+, boosts the flavors of your eliquid to bring out every nuance in your favorite eliquids. The patented Prism convection airflow system draws in air through the dual, raised, adjustable intakes, down into the heated outer chamber and then back up through the vaporizer coils, delivering the ultimate in flavor and minimizing leakage. And this isn’t just good copy, it actually works as described.

The design of the Innokin iSub APEX Prism system focuses and enhances eliquid vapor, which delivers a wicked burst of flavor with every hit.

Dual Airflow Systems

The Stainless drip tip features the second adjustable airflow valve. The tank airflow has also been moved to the top of the tank to reduce leakage. The iSub APEX utilizes an innovative Innokin ‘No-Spill Easy Swap’ Vertical Deep Coil System. When it comes time to replace your coil head you can now do so without the chance of no leaking.

Impressions

I haven’t heard anyone mention this before, but the Innokin iSub APEX looks, feels, and performs more like a Innokin iSub APEX Reviewreal sub-ohm tank than any other iSub tank that came before. The large window lets you know how much eliquid you have left, the reliable airflow systems seem more precise this time around, and the vapor production pushes out a thicker, more aromatic and satisfying vapor than previous iSub tanks. One look at the APEX tells you that Innokin has created a true competitor for the sub-ohm market.

Although there are top filling systems on other tanks that appear to allow for faster refills, the iSub APEX still allows for refilling the tank without having to remove the tank from the vaporizer.

Conclusion

I’ve used every iSub iteration from Innokin and the second I saw the APEX I knew there was a very good chance that Innokin topped themselves in every category that counts in sub ohm performance… except one…Temperature Control. The iSub APEX is not compatible with temperature control devices. That will soon be rectified with the imminent release of the Innokin Disrupter TC, which will allow a full temperature control system for all wire coils, including Kanthal.

Innokin iSub APEX ReviewIn any case, despite lacking temperature control compatibility, Innokin’s iSub Apex tank still offers plenty of terrific features that vapers like me want to have, top-filing system, precise airflow system (though the airflow in the drip tip doesn’t do much for me), and this new Prism Flavor Boost+ design, with convection airflow, really puts this tank in a league of its own. It is also one of the most affordable top-shelf subohm tanks you can buy right now.

Grade: AWhy an ‘A’? – Simple. If this iSub APEX had lacked the new convection airflow system I think I would have given this tank the same grade I have other iSub tanks, but, Innokin is a true innovator, and this convection airflow design actually works, and it manages, somehow, to push out every flavor component in every eliquid I’ve tried. Had the APEX came with Ni200 coils and could work in temperature control devices I would have graded the APEX an A+.
