Our Favorite Box Mods of 2018 – Just a couple of years ago huge clouds of vapor was only possible by extreme low resistance coils and high wattage box mods. Today the vape landscape looks a lot different. Sure, vape gear manufacturers are still producing high wattage mods. Mods calling for 3x 18650 cells, and we’ll most likely see triple 21700 cells in 2019.

For now, Sub-Ohm Tank manufacturers have made great strides with better coils, including mesh coils, where performance can be stellar when used on mods that output 100W or less.

Some of these low wattage box mods use single 18650 cells, or single 2X700 cells, and of the several dozen released this year, it wasn’t easy to weed through them all to find the 5 best low wattage mods. After weeks of researching, going back to reading reviews, pulling them off the shelves for a couple of days of use, we narrowed them down to 5 mods we were most pleased with.

Using Value, Quality, and Performance as our guide, the following mods will definitely please the vast majority of Vapers.

These 5 are certainly not the “only” good low wattage mods, but they are the ones we believe are superior mods with excellent value.[With all things considered, it wasn’t hard to pick the Lost Vape Mirage as the Best Low-Wattage Mod of 2018.

Months after its release the Lost Vape Mirage still sales for just over $100, but considering the Lost Vape Mirage is a single cell 18650 or single 2X700 cell that can output 80W (18650) and 100W (2X700), the quality, reliability, and performance are hard to beat.

Our 2nd place nominee is some $40 more than the Mirage.

In the same week Vaporesso released two mods and starter kits that were unmistakably the finest mods yet from this manufacturer. Both earned the Spinfuel VAPE Award Nomination for Best Vape Gear as well.
